Abstract: A lifting tool for lifting a rotor associated with a generator so as to allow a rotor bearing to be removed from a bearing pedestal beneath the rotor. The tool includes a semi-circular base portion that is bolted to the bearing pedestal and a pair of jack screws mounted to the base portion. A hydraulic ram is mounted to the base portion between the jack screws and is positioned against the rotor when the tool is bolted to the bearing pedestal. The ram is used to lift the rotor away from the bearing and the jack screws are used to hold the rotor up once it is in the desired location, where the ram is then lowered.
Abstract: A saltwater fishing assembly includes a body resembling a forage fish. The body includes a quick connect device that is swivelable relative to a fishing line and is reelable to a fishing rod tip. A quick connection subassembly is connectable to the quick connect device of the body and includes a hook and is releasable with a hooked fish. Methods of using the fishing assembly are also provided.

Abstract: Disclosed therein are a pulley assembly for a compressor and a manufacturing method of the same, which can prevent possible damages during processing and is fit for high-temperature environment because a pulley is made of magnesium alloy. The pulley assembly includes: a cylindrical hollow pulley made of magnesium alloy; an inner ring formed integrally with the pulley by insert injection molding, the inner ring being fixed to the inner circumferential surface of the pulley and made of a different material from the pulley; and a bearing forcedly pressed and fixed to the inner circumferential surface of the inner ring.
Abstract: A bearing device for a wheel prevents backlash in a circumferential direction and has excellent workability for connecting a hub wheel and an outer joint member of a constant velocity universal joint. The bearing device includes a recess-projection fitting structure in which the hub wheel and a shaft section, which is fitted in a hole of the hub wheel of the outer joint member of the constant velocity universal joint, are unitized together. In the recess-projection fitting structure, entire fitting regions among projections on the outer surface of the shaft section of the outer joint member and recesses, which fit on the projections, are brought into intimate contact with each other.
Abstract: A wheel bearing apparatus of a semi-floating type has a pilot portion 21 on an outer member 20. The pilot portion includes a cylindrical portion 21a and a tapered portion 21b. The tapered portion 21b gradually decreases in diameter from the cylindrical portion 21a to an end surface of the inboard side. A fitting portion 16 of an axle housing 14 corresponds to the shape of the pilot portion 21. An annular groove 22 is formed at the tapered portion 21b of the pilot portion 21. A seal ring 23 is mounted in the annular groove 22. An outer diameter d3 of the seal ring 23, after mounting, is set smaller than an inner diameter d4 of the cylindrical portion 16a of the axle housing 14. The seal ring elastically contacts the axle housing 14. A slight gap of a fitting portion between the outer member 20 and the axle housing 14 is blocked off.
Abstract: A bearing according to the present invention includes a cylindrical member formed on and around an outer member of a usual bearing. To firmly connect the cylindrical member to the outer member, grooves having an inclination relative to the axial direction of the bearing are formed so that the grooves do not cross one another on the outer surface of the outer member. The cylindrical member is made of a resin material by molding, and the resin, which is melted by heat in the molding process, enters into and adheres to the grooves. In this manner, the cylindrical member is firmly connected to the outer member so that movement in both of the rotational and axial directions of the bearing is prevented. The grooves formed on the outer surface of the outer member may be grouped, and their inclination relative to the axial direction may be alternately reversed group by group.
Abstract: A hub unit for wheel is described, with an outer ring having two bearing tracks on its inner circumferential surface, and a hub having a wheel mount flange on the outer end side and an end portion on the axially vehicle center side. The hub has a first bearing track corresponding to the axially vehicle outer end side bearing track of the outer ring, and an inner ring element fitted on the end portion side of the hub. The inner ring element has on its outer circumference a second bearing track opposed to the axially vehicle center side bearing track of the outer ring, and is fixed on the end portion by plastically deforming the end portion of the hub radially outwardly. Rolling members are provided between the two bearing tracks of the outer ring and the first and second bearing tracks.
Abstract: An apparatus for a pivot assembly that can strongly and reliably fix a sleeve to an outer ring, and in addition, that can also solve the problem of out gas. Ball bearing 2 are mated to both ends of a shaft 1, and to the outer circumference of these ball bearings 2, an inner wall part 31 mates a sleeve disposed between both ball bearings 2, and the sleeve 3 was fixed by laser welding to the outer ring 22 of the bell bearings 2.
Abstract: A radial ball bearing 14 of the three point contact type or four point contact type is used for the rolling bearing for a compressor pulley. The offset amount &dgr;, that is the axial distance between the center &agr; of the radial load applied to the follower pulley 4 from the endless belt 11, and the center &bgr; of the radial ball bearing 14 is 40% or less of the diameter of the pitch circle. In addition, the radial clearance of the radial ball bearing 14 is 0.2% or less of the diameter of the pitch circle. With this construction, the durability of the rolling bearing to support the follower pulley 4 is secured while made compact.
Abstract: A sheave assembly for use in a high performance pulley block has an inner race 14, a sheave 10 defining an outer race and a plurality of balls 13 arranged between the outer race of the sheave 10 and the inner race 14, so as rotatably to mount the sheave on the inner race. The inner race 14 is formed principally of a plastics material, but incorporates an annular insert 20 of metal, the outer surface of the insert extending parallel to the axis of the assembly, and defining an inner track for the balls 13. The axial width of the insert 20 is significantly less than, and typically 33% to 67% of, the diameter of the balls 13.
Abstract: An invented track construct component system with a threaded radial bearing end pulley is described for pool cover systems that includes an extruded longitudinal cover track having a top longitudinal anchoring slot, a C-channel longitudinal slot along one side edge for capturing and holding a side edge of a pool cover and associated sliders carrying a leading (front) edge structures, a cable return channel with a longitudinal slot opening along the other side edge for receiving and protecting cabling connecting between sliders/front cover comers and associated cable reels. Each cover track is secured within separate extruded side wall channel structures having a top channel side wall with a depending longitudinal shaped for snuggly fitting into the longitudinal anchoring slot of the cover track. The extruded side wall channel structures are incorporated into the side wall of the pool.

The casing is split along a radial plane into two casing halves, each casing half being molded of a polymer. The bearing assembly has a shaft tube, at least one pair of bearing covers pressed onto the shaft tube, a concave surface formed in facing sides of each of the bearing covers, a row of balls received in the corresponding concave surfaces of the pair of bearing covers and a race arranged on the outer periphery of the row of balls to receive them. The bearing assembly can be arranged with multiple rows of balls to improve the ability to bear a large load between the rotating and stationary members.
Abstract: A rotary bearing assembly (10) for a motor vehicle water pump employs a spindle (11) with a central region (14) surrounded by an outer bearing ring (15). The ring (15) and spindle central region (14) have axially spaced complementary raceways (16, 17) on their confronting surfaces in angular contact with sets of balls (18). The spindle central region (14) adjoins one end region (12) with the same diameter as the central region and an opposite end region (13) of smaller diameter. The end region (12) is driven by a belt-and-pulley of the vehicle engine while the smaller end region (13) drives an impeller of the water pump. The set of balls (18) adjacent the driven end region (12) has a full complement of balls (18) in mutual contact while the smaller diameter end region (13) has the balls spaced apart with a cage (22).

A plurality of exposed ball bearings are mounted in the side plates for bearing engagement with the sides of the sheave. Location of thrust bearings in the side plates allows for reduction in mass of the sheave and increased space for main bearing capacity.

Abstract: In a guide roller assembly such as utilized for supporting a reciprocating yarn guide rod in a textile winding machine, the guide roller assembly having an outer shell rotatably supported on a carrier member by an interposed ball bearing assembly, problems of internal contamination of the guide roller assembly are avoided by provision of a plurality of annular projecting walls on one or both of the outer shell and the carrier member to define narrow annular spacings between the outer shell and the carrier member at the annular walls and annular air chambers in radial series between the walls. The narrow annular spacings are preferably of a maximum dimension in the range of a few tenths of a millimeter. Debris entering the interior of the guide roller assembly tends to be propelled radially outwardly and accumulates at the annular spacings to resist entry of further debris.

A plurality of balls are placed in the races to constitute a ball bearing so that the worm gear may be freely rotatable on the polar housing about the polar axis. The telescope mount includes a polar shaft which extends through the worm gear into the polar housing along the polar axis. The worm gear is frictionally coupled to the polar shaft through a sleeve composed of nylon or other appropriate material, and through a fiber washer, or the like. The weight of the telescope provides a desired friction force to enable the worm gear to turn the telescope mount about the polar axis.
Abstract: A combined bearing, pulley and shield assembly that is temporarily unitized prior to being installed on a cylindrical shaft support. A bearing having inner and outer races with an annular space between the races is molded into the hub off the pulley with a pair of shields joined to the pulley in covering relation to the annular space. The shields are joined to the pulley by frangible tabs molded integrally with the pulley. When the pulley assembly is installed, the shields are precisely positioned and fixed to the inner race. Therefore, the tabs fracture in response to initial relative rotation of the pulley and inner race to allow free subsequent relative rotation.
Abstract: A belt drive unit for transmitting drive between the drive shaft on an engine and associated accessories is described, the said unit essentially comprising a pin, designed to fit on to one end of the said shaft, and a pair of pulleys having different diameters and turning round the said pin, a first smaller-diameter pulley being mounted on the said pin with a free-turning wheel inbetween, and the second pulley being mounted on the said pin with an electromagnetic coupling inbetween; the said pulley is provided with a first tubular element formed in one piece with the pulley itself and having a pair of races for two rings of ball bearings and a seat for the said free-turning wheel, provision being made for two rings of ball bearings designed to sustain rotation of the said tubular element in relation to the said pin.
