Abstract: Reduction in reproduction quality is suppressed in an imaging device that images a sound and a moving image. A frame rate converter converts a frame rate of a frame captured outside a predetermined period among a plurality of frames captured at a predetermined frame rate to a low frame rate lower than the predetermined frame rate. A duplication unit duplicates an original sound signal recorded over the predetermined period to generate a plurality of duplicated sound signals each of which is identical to the original sound signal. The audio signal processing unit performs different signal processing on each of the plurality of duplicated sound signals.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for modifying an analogue video signal to impair its conversion to a digital signal by an analogue to digital converter. The resulting modified signal may prevent the operation of the analogue to digital converter altogether, or even if a digital signal can be output and recorded, may result in a signal which is difficult to view due to a reduction in quality on playback. The modifications made to the signal include altering the amplitude of the horizontal synchronization pulses in the original signal, and/or modifying the level of the back porch, or the region of the signal adjacent the back porch. Additionally, methods are contemplated for the use of specific response models for target analogue to digital converters, and display devices.

That is, a shift in a display is provided when one or more positive going pulse is added to the video signal following one or more sync pulse. To illustrate, AGC pulses, generally used for content control and or copy protection in the last lines of an active video field, cause a shift (horizontal displacement) in the picture for these last lines in the active field. Alternatively, turning off or attenuating such positive going pulses in the last lines of the active field, eliminates or reduces the picture shift.

  • Patent number: 8116610
Abstract: New movies from content providers are often made available on the Internet before being launched in the cinemas. Pre-released movies like DVD Videos for journalists are the main reason for this situation because some journalists seem to make these movies available to the Internet users. However, this causes significant harm to the content providers. According to the invention, the pre-releases are still DVD Videos or other conventional video formats but the playback of such encoded video signal is not possible using only a conventional DVD player or DVD player software because the playback requires additional hardware. An additional box (CP splitter box) splits the original video signal into two different video signals to be projected using two different beamers (A, B) which both are required for generating the whole video content. The beamers have different locations each with a different angle to the silver screen, and each beamer generates only a part of the video.

It is therefore proposed to include at least one region of subversive data within the content in the data area of an optical disc, and then to prevent access to each such region of subversive data during normal playback of the disc. For a DVD, the subversive data may be incorporated within video objects and/or may be in gaps between files in the DVD_Video zone. It is arranged that there are no navigable paths to the regions of subversive data.
