Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a data processing unit that verifies data recorded on a disk and reproduces content recorded on the disk if a verification condition is satisfied. The data processing unit verifies the validity of an ID inserter that has recorded, on the disk, an ID corresponding to the disk. The data processing unit acquires an ID inserter certificate containing an apparatus ID of the ID inserter that has recorded the ID corresponding to the disk on the disk and an ID inserter blacklist having apparatus IDs of invoked ID inserters registered therein, determines whether the apparatus ID contained in the ID inserter certificate is registered in the ID inserter blacklist so as to verify the validity of the ID inserter that has recorded the ID corresponding to the disk, and stops reproduction of the content if it is determined that the ID inserter is not valid.

Abstract: A content receiver comprises: an acceptance unit for accepting a designation of a recording medium to which contents are to be output; a license information acquiring unit for acquiring output license information describing the output requirements of the contents; and an output unit for outputting the contents to the designated recording medium. The output license information includes usage time limit information indicating the time limit of using the contents in an output destination. The output unit acquires the usage time limit information from the output license information for the contents, and sets the acquired usage time limit information to a management information storing area in the designated recording medium, thereby managing the time period of using the contents in the recording medium even if the copyright protection of the recording medium, which is an export destination, has a function to manage the time period of using the contents.

Abstract: A data file reproduction system has a data file supplying apparatus that extracts video data and audio data from a received data file, compresses the extracted video and audio data and produces a compressed data file containing the compressed audio and video data together with meta or navigation data determined from the data file for enabling navigation of the original data file. The compressed data file is then copy-protected. Upon request, the copy-protected compressed data file is communicated to a reproduction apparatus which decompresses the compressed audio and video data of the received copy-protected compressed data file, encodes the decompressed audio and video data and produces a copy-protected reconstituted data file containing the encoded audio and video data together with the meta or navigation data determined from the copy-protected compressed data file, so enabling navigation of the copy-protected reconstituted data file, the same as the original data file.

Abstract: To provide a device that easily judges that content that has been edited and moved back differs from original content. A content transmission device 60 divides edited content composed of partial original content and partial edited content to generate transfer data pieces, generates a nonce value of each piece, encrypts the piece based on the nonce value, and transmits the encrypted transfer data pieces and nonce values. When switch occurs between the partial contents, the device 60 generates nonce value such that discontinuity exists between the generated nonce value and immediately previously generated nonce value. A content reception device 70 receives the encrypted transfer data pieces and nonce values, decrypts the pieces based on the nonce values, writes the transfer data pieces into recording medium. When discontinuity exists between currently received nonce value and immediately previously received nonce value, the device 70 detects reception of partial edited content.
