Video Compensation Or Correction Patents (Class 386/264)
  • Patent number: 8218077
Abstract: An image processing apparatus for processing first image data into second image data having a higher quality includes the following elements. A determination unit determines whether broadcast image data is up-converted image data generated by up-converting different image data by increasing the number of pixels forming the different image data. A down-converter down-converts the broadcast image data into down-converted image data by decreasing the number of pixels forming the broadcast image data. A first image converter converts, if the broadcast image data is not the up-converted image data, the first image data into the second image data by using the down-converted image data and the broadcast image data as the first image data. A second image converter converts, if the broadcast image data is the up-converted image data, the first image data into the second image data by using the down-converted image data as the first image data.

  • Patent number: 8213770
Abstract: An apparatus and method for storing digital broadcast data in a digital broadcast receiving terminal. If the digital broadcast receiving terminal enters a weak electric field strength region during reception of digital broadcast data, digital broadcast receiving terminal stops the process of receiving the digital broadcast data so as to check whether digital broadcast receiving terminal re-enters again into the strong electric field strength region. Then, if the digital broadcast receiving terminal re-enters the strong electric field region, the terminal shifts a TS value of a received digital broadcast data frame to the value obtained by adding a frame interval of the digital broadcast data frames to the TS value of the previous data frame that had been completely stored just before the digital broadcast receiving terminal entered the weak electric field strength region.

  • Patent number: 8160156
Abstract: The present invention comprises a system and method for controlling the rate a data encoder generates compressed data. The system and method are preferably implemented as program code stored and executed by a processor or computer that is interfaced to standard variable or constant bit rate encoders known in the art. The system preferably encodes and compresses video signals received from a camera, and controls the rate at which the compressed data is generated by the encoder so that storage capacity reserved for the compressed data will not be exceeded. The device preferably takes advantage of periods when the data generation rate is low to increase the quality of video data generated during periods of high activity.

Abstract: If a movie reproducing apparatus detects an error during reproduction of encoded movie data, based on management information that includes a recording position of an intra-picture coded picture included in the encoded movie data, the movie reproducing apparatus determines a position used when the error is recovered by searching for an intra-picture coded picture subsequent to a frame including data with the error as well as updates elapsed time information to be displayed based on a frame number of the searched intra-picture coded picture at the time the error is recovered.

  • Publication number: 20110110647
Abstract: A media archive comprising a plurality of media resources associated with events that occurred during a time interval are processed to synchronize the media resources. Sequences of patterns are identified in each media resource of the media archive. Elements of the sequences associated with different media resources are correlated such that a set of correlated elements is associated with the same event that occurred in the given time interval. The synchronization information of the processed media resources is represented in a flexible and extensible data format. The synchronization information is used for correction of errors occurring in the media resources of a media archive, for enhanced synchronous playback of the archive resources, and for unified access to, and modification of, the archive resources.

Abstract: An audio-video processing method is adapted to an audio-video device and a storage device for processing an index-based audio-video file. The method for processing audio-video data includes a write procedure, a play procedure, and/or a repair procedure. In the write procedure, audio-video data is captured by the audio-video device first, and the audio-video data includes a plurality of continuous samples; a header is written according to the audio-video data; a predetermined number of samples are captured as a data chunk; a prefix index corresponding to the data chunk and the data chunk are written in sequence repeatedly according to the audio-video data; and a file index is written finally. In the play procedure, after the header is read, corresponding prefix index and data chunk are repeatedly read and played. Moreover, in the repair procedure, incompletely written file index and data chunk are repaired through all the prefix indexes.

  • Patent number: 7869700
Abstract: A method and system for encoding and recording data in a multi-stream format when the data is initially captured. The multiple streams of data can be combined to provide a high quality, or high resolution, representation, while a reduced subset of the streams can provide a lower quality, or lower resolution, representation. Data storage requirements can be reduced, by deleting one or more of the streams, when there is no longer a need for retention of the data at the higher quality.
