Patent number: 11818412Abstract: Disclosed are methods for supplementing the processing capabilities of multimedia devices in a networked environment. A method can include providing a processing offloader module to physically connect to a first multimedia device in the networked environment. The offloader can be internal and/or external to the device. The method can include identifying the offloader, identifying a second multimedia device, and determining that a bandwidth of the second device falls below a threshold bandwidth. Instructions can be forwarded from the second device to the offloader when the bandwidth of the second device exceeds the threshold bandwidth. The offloader is configured to process the instructions and render multimedia information based on the instructions.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 2019Date of Patent: November 14, 2023Assignee: DISH Network L.L.C.Inventors: Manuel Novoa, III, Kan Man Wong, Vishal Neeralike, Shiqiang Chu, Aram Semerjyan, Anthony Bond, Michael Song, Anthony Kallas, Derick Wong

Patent number: 11336942Abstract: Introduced here are systems to manage and discover a processing offloader. A first multimedia device may identify a processing offloader in a networked environment. A first multimedia device may determine that a bandwidth of a second multimedia device in the networked environment falls below a threshold bandwidth, indicating that the second multimedia device may process instructions and render multimedia information with increased latency or delay. Based on this determination, the first multimedia device may forward instructions from the second multimedia device to the processing offloader for the processing offloader to process and render multimedia information on behalf of the second multimedia device based on the received instructions. The first multimedia device may forward rendered multimedia information from the processing offloader to the second multimedia device, and the second multimedia device may output the rendered multimedia information to an output device.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 2019Date of Patent: May 17, 2022Assignee: DISH Network L.L.C.Inventors: Manuel Novoa, III, Kan Man Wong, Vishal Neeralike, Shiqiang Chu, Aram Semerjyan, Anthony Bond, Michael Song, Anthony Kallas, Derick Wong

Patent number: 10575042Abstract: Playing of first and second content streams delivered to respective first and second receiving devices is achieved following a seek command to one of the devices, by a synchronization controller which receives information identifying the segment in the first stream in which the start point is located, and the duration of time between the start point and the beginning of the next segment, and transmits a command to the second receiving device identifying a segment in a second stream, at which to resume play, and a time at which to start displaying, allowing the display controlled by the second receiving device to be resynchronized with the display controlled by the first receiving device after operation of the seek command on the first device.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 2016Date of Patent: February 25, 2020Assignee: British Telecommunications Public Limited CompanyInventors: Jonathan Rennison, Martin Trimby, Andrew Gower

Patent number: 10116475Abstract: A process for automatic electrical signal discovery and decoding includes detecting electrical disturbances in a serial or parallel bus, or from a transducer with a signal monitor and demodulating the signals by configuring a signal filter window on a frequency filter to maximize time domain signal resolution. Filtering out each frequency captured by the filter and adapting the signal filter window to increase frequency resolution until maximal frequency resolution is attained, demodulating the signal based on the detected encoding and transforming the demodulated signal into a binary code string for transcription to a channel code file.Type: GrantFiled: July 5, 2017Date of Patent: October 30, 2018Assignee: Kirio, Inc.Inventor: Franck D Rougier

Patent number: 9882764Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for modulating and demodulating transpositional modulated (TM) signals. One aspect features a method of modulating a carrier signal that include the actions of generating a TM signal by generating a sinusoidal signal, and modulating the sinusoidal signal based on a data signal to provide the TM signal. Inserting the TM signal into a carrier signal to provide a TM modulated carrier signal. Modulating the TM modulated carrier signal with a non-TM signal to provide a combined signal. Transmitting the combined signal.Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 2017Date of Patent: January 30, 2018Assignee: TM IP Holdings, LLCInventors: Harvey C. Woodsum, Richard C. Gerdes

Patent number: 9069910Abstract: A mechanism is described for facilitating dynamic cancellation of signal crosstalk in input/output differential channels according to one embodiment. A method of embodiments may include detecting crosstalk between a first differential signal channel pair (“differential pair”) and a second differential pair of a plurality of differential pairs at a computing system, and switching polarity relating to the first transmission links of the first differential pair to cancel out the crosstalk with the second differential pair.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2012Date of Patent: June 30, 2015Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Zhichao Zhang, Khine N.
