Abstract: Providing overlapping time range redactions in media items like digital videos is disclosed without loss of information about the individual redactions therein. For example, a platform receives a set of redactions associated with a media item where at least some of the redactions overlap. A process is performed to determine a set of non-overlapping time ranges based on the set of redactions, where the redaction information is associated with individual non-overlapping time ranges. The correct redaction information from the corresponding overlapping time ranges will be applied to the non-overlapping time range redaction. This single non-overlapping redaction is stored as a single unit and has the advantage of requiring less storage space and processing power than multiple overlapping redactions, while retaining, in one implementation, all of the corresponding redaction information (e.g., labels) of the original correspondence overlapping redactions.

  • Patent number: 12014548
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to segmentation and hierarchical clustering of video. In an example implementation, a video is ingested to generate a multi-level hierarchical segmentation of the video. In some embodiments, the finest level identifies a smallest interaction unit of the video—semantically defined video segments of unequal duration called clip atoms. Clip atom boundaries are detected in various ways. For example, speech boundaries are detected from audio of the video, and scene boundaries are detected from video frames of the video. The detected boundaries are used to define the clip atoms, which are hierarchically clustered to form a multi-level hierarchical representation of the video. In some cases, the hierarchical segmentation identifies a static, pre-computed, hierarchical set of video segments, where each level of the hierarchical segmentation identifies a complete set (i.e., covering the entire range of the video) of disjoint (i.e.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating individualized content trailers. Content such as a video is divided into segments each representing a set of common features. With reference to a set of stored user preferences, certain segments are selected as aligning with the user's interests. Each selected segment may then be assigned a label corresponding to the plot portion or element to which it belongs. A coherent trailer may then be assembled from the selected segments, ordered according to their plot elements. This allows a user to see not only segments containing subject matter that aligns with their interests, but also a set of such segments arranged to give the user an idea of the plot, and a sense of drama, increasing the likelihood of engagement with the content.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to a thumbnail segmentation that defines the locations on a video timeline where thumbnails are displayed. Candidate thumbnail locations are determined from boundaries of feature ranges of the video indicating when instances of detected features are present in the video. In some embodiments, candidate thumbnail separations are penalized for being separated by less than a minimum duration corresponding to a minimum pixel separation (e.g., the width of a thumbnail) between consecutive thumbnail locations on a video timeline. The thumbnail segmentation is computed by solving a shortest path problem through a graph that models different thumbnail locations and separations. As such, a video timeline is displayed with thumbnails at locations on the timeline defined by the thumbnail segmentation, with each thumbnail depicting a portion of the video associated with the thumbnail location.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for imaging of moving subjects. The method may include determining a motion range of a region of interest (ROI) of a subject in an axial direction. The method may also include causing a radiation source to emit, at each of a plurality of axial positions relative to the subject, radiation beams to the ROI to generate an image frame of the ROI. The radiation beams corresponding to the plurality of axial positions may jointly cover the motion range of the ROI in the axial direction. The method may further include determining a position of the ROI in the axial direction based on the image frames of the ROI, and determining, based on the positions of the ROI in the axial directions, at least one time bin in which therapeutic beams are to be emitted to the ROI.

Abstract: A computing system determines accuracy of sport-related information extracted from a time sequence of digital video frames that represent a sport event, the extracted sport-related information including an attribute that changes over the time sequence. The computing system (a) detects, based on the extracted sport-related information, a pattern of change of the attribute over the time sequence and (b) makes a determination of whether the detected pattern is an expected pattern of change associated with the sport event. If the determination is that the detected pattern is the expected pattern, then, responsive to making the determination, the computing system takes a first action that corresponds to the sport-related information being accurate. Whereas, if the determination is that the detected pattern is not the expected pattern, then, responsive to making the determination, the computing system takes a second action that corresponds to the sport-related information being inaccurate.

Abstract: An online system maintains connections among users of that system and allows them to share media information with one another. If multiple socially connected users are viewing the same event and are located in the vicinity of one another, a social camera application executing on each client device of the socially connected users allows these users to capture media information of that event, and a higher quality media content of the event can be generated from the multiple captures of the event. For example, a target user begins a social camera experience and invites other socially connected users in the vicinity to join that experience. These users upload their captures of the event to the online system, which are combined to create a social camera media item of the event with better quality than any of the individual captures taken by a user within the group.
