Dvd With Mpeg2 Program Stream (i.e., Vob) Patents (Class 386/332)
  • Patent number: 7894706
Abstract: When data of image information is compressed and is recorded on a recording medium, additional information about the image information is recorded in a conveniently usable state. There is provided read/write unit information as a unit of reading and writing the compressed image information to the recording medium. The read/write unit information contains a plurality of units of decoding and reproducing unit information that comprises one frame (or one field) of the image information. At least one piece of decoding and reproducing unit information is subject to compression encoding through the use of only image information in the decoding and reproducing unit. In the read/write unit information, there is multiplexed and recorded additional information about the decoding and reproducing unit information for a plurality of units within the read/write unit in an extractable manner separately from the compressed image information.

  • Patent number: 7881590
Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method for reproducing contents information in an interactive optical disc device and a method for providing contents information in a contents provider server. The interactive optical disc device is connected with the contents provider server via the Internet to receive a variety of contents information provided from the contents provider server. When the sending of the contents information from the contents provider server to the interactive optical disc device is suspended or delayed due to a network connection loss on the Internet or an insufficient storage capacity of a buffer memory in the interactive optical disc device, contents information re-sent from the contents provider server and a data stream read from an interactive DVD are re-synchronized and reproduced. Therefore, a user of the interactive optical disc device can normally watch more various contents information.

  • Patent number: 7865068
Abstract: A device for recording records digitally encoded video information on a record carrier according to a predefined recording format, such as BD. The device has an input unit (91) for receiving a data stream comprising the video information and application data objects contained in messages, such as DVB-MHP. The device has a message unit (92, 94) for extracting the messages from the data stream. The messages are stored in a message file as a series of the messages for the program separate from the video information. The device also has a parsing unit (95) for generating application control information that includes accessing information for accessing the messages in the message file. The application control information is stored in a message info file.

  • Patent number: 7860375
Abstract: A method and apparatus for simultaneously recording and displaying video signals from two different video sources. The apparatus comprises a main channel processing circuit, a second channel processing circuit, and common circuitry. The common circuit comprises a digital video decoder pipe that decodes both first and second encoded video signals. A PIP picture is produced using a common reference clock that is derived from the first video signal. In a record mode, a second channel clock reference is coupled to the second channel processing circuit to produce a recordable signal using a digital encoder. The recordable signal also forms a PIP picture that is coupled to the main channel processing circuit to produce a PIP picture that is used to monitor the recording process.
