Video Processing For Reproducing (e.g., Decoding, Etc.) Patents (Class 386/353)
  • Patent number: 8737822
Abstract: The present invention relates to a playback apparatus, a playback method, a program, a recording medium, and a data structure that enable interactive operations when playing back AV content. A controller 34 obtains an order list of audio stream numbers in advance. In response to an instruction to switch audio by a user, the controller obtains the audio stream number subsequent to the audio stream number which is being played back. It is then checked whether a stream that is found to be playable by the playback apparatus is included in a main clip or a sub clip, and the main clip referred to by the Main Path is read together with the clip in which the corresponding audio stream is multiplexed. Then, the audio stream file of the corresponding clip and the file to be played back included in the main clip are selected by the switches 57 through 59, and 77. The selected files are combined by a video data processor 96 and an audio data processor 97, and the combined data is output.

Abstract: Ocular strain is reduced for the viewer by reducing extreme changes of depth value occurring at stereoscopic scene jumps, dimension switches from 2D to 3D video, and the like. A playback device includes a video plane and a depth value memory for storing depth values of a plurality of stereoscopic video frames. The depth value memory stores the depth values of a plurality of frames, at least including a destination frame, and of a starting frame. When a request to switch from 2D to 3D video or to switch scenes within 3D video is received, switch timing control or destination frame depth value adjustment is performed so as to reduce the occurrence of extreme depth value changes and provide smooth switching.

A flag that represents whether a play item has a multiple angle structure of which the play item is reproduced with a plurality of angles is described. In addition, a flag that represents whether the beginning of each decode unit is an angle switchable point is described. In a seamless multiple angle structure, the current angle can be switched without need to increase the number of interleave units. In a nonseamless multiple angle structure, with the flag, in a predetermined region on the rear end side of each angle, the current angle is prohibited from being switched. Thus, when a play item exits from the multiple angle, discontinuity in the reproduction can be prevented. Abstract: There is provided an audio amplifier, including: an AV signal acquisition unit that acquires an AV signal; a television connection unit to which a television receiver is connected; a first audio amplifying circuit to which a speaker is connected; and a control unit. The control unit transmits to the television receiver a command to shut off power for a second audio amplifying circuit of the television receiver when outputting the video signal of the AV signal acquired by the AV signal acquisition unit from the television connection unit toward the television receiver and when inputting the audio signal of the AV signal to the first audio amplifying circuit. The control unit shuts off power for the first audio amplifying circuit when outputting the video signal and the audio signal of the AV signal from the television connection unit toward the television receiver.

Abstract: An imaging unit outputs a video signal at a frame rate higher than a standard frame rate. During a zoom operation period or a period including the zoom operation period and periods before and after the zoom operation, a video signal from the imaging unit is recorded in a recording medium at a high recording frame rate. Other than this period, a video signal is recorded in the recording medium at the standard frame rate. The recording frame rate and zoom operation information is recorded as metadata in the recording medium. During reproduction, based on a set reproduction mode, thinning processing is carried out on a video signal recorded during a zoom operation, and the processed signal is output at the standard frame rate. In this way, it is possible to change a frame rate in view of a photographer's intention and assure compatibility with existing viewing and reproduction environments.

Abstract: Upon receiving a first instruction by an instruction receiving unit, a power supply control unit causes a first power supply unit to supply power to a first acquisition unit, and controls a second power supply unit so that power is not supplied to a second acquisition unit. A reproduction unit reproduces a first content acquired by the first acquisition unit. When a predetermined condition is met during a reproduction period in which the reproduction unit is reproducing the first content, the power supply control unit causes a second power supply unit to supply power to the second acquisition unit during the reproduction period. When the instruction receiving unit receives a second instruction, the reproduction unit reproduces a second content acquired by the second acquisition unit, and the power supply control unit causes the first power supply unit to stop the supplying of power to the first acquisition unit.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for processing video and audio data received in a decoding system are provided. The method includes the following steps. When a program clock reference (PCR) is unavailable in the system, a system time clock (STC) is recovered by using a presentation time stamp (PTS) of video or audio data, or a linear combination result of the PTS of the video data and the PTS of the audio data. The STC is compared with the PTSs of the currently captured and audio data, and a current data processing mode is determined. A difference between the PTS of the video data and the PTS of the audio data is monitored. An absolute value of the difference is compared with a preset threshold value, and when the absolute value is greater than or equal to the threshold value, an asynchronous play mode is adopted as a system play mode; otherwise, a synchronous play mode is adopted as the system play mode.
