Patent number: 7371997Abstract: In a thermal processing apparatus, using a lamp for heating a substrate, an opening is formed for a camera unit, which is used to image portions of an auxiliary ring supporting the substrate, to obtain the position of the center of the auxiliary ring. The camera further images the substrate to determine the center of the substrate before the thermal processing apparatus receives and places the substrate on the auxiliary ring. The thermal processing apparatus moves the substrate so that the center thereof coincides with the center of the auxiliary ring, and thereafter places the former on the latter. Thus, the auxiliary ring can be designed to reduce overlaps of the auxiliary ring and the outer edge of the substrate while overlaps can be uniform over the entire circumference of the substrate to improve temperature uniformity of the substrate.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 2005Date of Patent: May 13, 2008Assignee: Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd.Inventors: Toshiyuki Kobayashi, Yoshiro Koyama, Mitsukazu Takahashi

Patent number: 6822185Abstract: The temperature of a plasma chamber of a semiconductor fabrication tool is maintained substantially constant utilizing a variety of techniques, separately or in combination. One technique is to provide the exterior surface of the plasma chamber dome with a plurality of fins projecting into high velocity regions of an overlying airflow in order to dissipate heat from the chamber. Ducting defined by cover overlying the exposed exterior surface of the dome may also feature projecting lips or an airfoil to place high velocity components of the airflow into contact within the exterior dome surface and the fins. Other techniques include employing a high speed fan to control airflow circulation, and the use of temperature sensors in communication the fan through a processor to control fan speed and thereby regulate chamber temperature.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2002Date of Patent: November 23, 2004Assignee: Applied Materials, Inc.Inventors: Michael Welch, Paul E. Publication number: 20040057708Abstract: The present technique provides a system and method for finishing and curing a desired material applied to a surface of a target object, such as a vehicle. An adjustable arm assembly is used to position a curing device, such as a radiative curing mechanism, adjacent the surface having the desired material. The adjustable arm assembly has an arm structure, which is rotatable between minimum and maximum vertical positions. At a head of the arm structure, the adjustable arm assembly has an adjustable height mechanism to adapt the vertical range of the arm structure to a particular target object, such as a large-sized or small-sized object. The head may support any suitable finishing or curing device, such as an infrared lamp. The adjustable height mechanism may have a reversible coupling assembly, mutually exclusive high and low couplings, a pivotal offset coupling, a rail assembly, or any other suitable coupling having at least two different height options.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 25, 2002Publication date: March 25, 2004Inventor: James S. Patent number: 6442340Abstract: A hair processing accelerator which can uniformly irradiate heat to a hairline of the whole circumference of hair includes first and second heater units having first and second heaters of a generally semicircular shape connected to a top portion of a head top unit supporting part 3 which is positioned in the head top of hair. While moving through multiple positions and by swinging and rotating around hair so as to separate from each other to right and left or approach each other from right and left by a heater unit driving part 50 contained in a body supporting part 5, the first and second heater units irradiate heat to all the areas of hair from the head top of hair to each of right and left sides.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 2001Date of Patent: August 27, 2002Assignee: Oohiro Works, Ltd.Inventor: Hirohisa Shimizu

Patent number: 6430365Abstract: A hair processing accelerator having a first heater unit with a semicircular shape for irradiating hair upon the top of a person's head and second and third heater units each having a semicircular shape for irradiating a hairline on the person's head. The top portion of the second and third units being connected to the first unit by a body supporting part having rotating shafts so that the second and third heater units can rotate within a given range. The hair processing accelerator is mounted in a mobile floor stand.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 2001Date of Patent: August 6, 2002Assignee: Oohiro Works, Ltd.Inventor: Hirohisa Shimizu
