Delivering From Transfer Position Patents (Class 399/397)
  • Patent number: 5749035
Abstract: A conveying guide for conveying a sheet onto which an image has been transferred is made of a synthetic resin having a resistance higher than the resistance of the transfer sheet. The upstream side end of the upper surface of the conveying guide is located sufficiently lower than the position at which the sheet is separated from the surface of the photoreceptor drum. With these arrangements, the charging of the conveying guide due to the friction between the sheet and the guide is prevented, thereby restraining the image quality deterioration.

  • Patent number: 5749024
Abstract: In a reproduction system providing an ordered output from a printer to a sheet output stacker of printed transparency sheets interleaved with corresponding paper sheets, with a choice of different output stacker units to be operatively connected to the printer, wherein at least one stacker provides face down stacking, and at least one other provides face up stacking; an automatic electronic printing order control system is automatically electronically activated by the connection of a stacker unit to the printer to change the ordered output of printed transparency sheets and paper sheets so that the transparency sheets will be ahead of their corresponding paper copy sheets regardless of which stacker is connected to the printer.

  • Patent number: 5724642
Abstract: A system of improved duplex color printing by reducing copy sheet feeding jams due to first side color printing sheet curl by feeding and printing a first plural color image on a first side of a copy sheet with the copy sheet in a first orientation, then automatically rotating the copy sheet by 90 degrees from the first orientation into a second orientation and feeding and printing a second plural color image on the second side of the copy sheet with the copy sheet in the second orientation. Additionally disclosed is, in coordination therewith, automatically rotating the image for the second side of the copy sheet by 90 degrees from the first plural color image for the printing of the second plural color image on the second side of the copy sheet with the copy sheet in the second orientation, so that commonly oriented images are provided on the first and second sides of the copy sheet. The first printing pass orientation of the copy sheet may be long edge first, and the second short edge first.

  • Patent number: 5694638
Abstract: An image generating device is provided with a control mechanism which controls an exit paper delivery speed after an image has been fixed to a form. The exit paper delivery speed is changed depending on information detected about the process of generating the image to prevent the form from being delivered with wrinkles. The information detected includes size of paper intervals between forms, length of forms, and whether the image generating process is a repeat copying or continuous form feeding process.

  • Patent number: 5689795
Abstract: A printing apparatus including a processing section for transferring a developed image onto a copy sheet and a finishing section for receiving plural copy sheets to generate a print set is disclosed. The apparatus includes a first sheet feeding apparatus associated with the processing section for feeding the sheets through the processing station at a first translational speed and a second sheet feeding apparatus associated with the finishing section for feeding the sheets to the finishing section at a second translational speed. The apparatus also includes a sheet transfer apparatus for transferring the sheets from the first sheet feeding apparatus to the second sheet feeding apparatus, for changing the speed of the sheets from the first translational speed to the second translational speed and for positioning adjacent sheets in the second feeding apparatus in a spaced apart relationship therebetween defining a space between adjacent sheets.

  • Patent number: 5678160
Abstract: Envelopes (9) are fed flap first and flap closed long dimension first into the nip of fixing rollers (3,4). The fixing rollers are less wide than the envelopes, and the printing system does not print on the edge of the envelope which is not fixed.Since this adds very little to the apparatus and software, wrinkle-free envelope printing is achieved at very low initial and overall cost.

  • Patent number: 5659875
Abstract: An electrographic printer device is designed for printing web-shaped recording media (10) having different web widths in different operating modes, such as single-colored and multi-colored simplex printing, single-colored and multi-colored duplex printing and for simultaneously printing two recording medium webs in parallel operation. To this end, the units of the printer device such as intermediate carrier (11), transfer printing station (15) and fixing station (18) comprise a usable width of at least twice the web width of a narrow recording medium. The printer device further contains a deflection means (28) following the fixing station (18) and engageable as needed and having an allocated return channel to the transfer printing station (15) via which the recording medium (10) is turned and resupplied to the transfer printing station (15) in single-color or multi-color duplex mode.

  • Patent number: 5655208
Abstract: A modular copier/printer or similar image forming apparatus of the type having an image transfer body in the form of a drum or belt allows documents to be reproduced in a paper discharge mode which discharges paper sheets, or recording media, in page-sequential order. When an automatic two-sided copy mode is selected, the apparatus automatically sets up the page sequential paper discharge mode to a "collation mode" through a minimum number of sorter bins which has been optimally designed to correspond with the shortest two-sided copy loop. Hence, when mixed black-and-white documents and color documents are reproduced together in the automatic copy mode, paper sheets exit the apparatus in the correct page order. As a result of this automatic change in operating modes, fewer "skip" frames need be introduced during the copying operation, thereby enabling the copier to produce multiple collated copies of the multipage document very efficiently.

  • Patent number: 5649275
Abstract: Paper feeding roller, image forming means, fixing means, paper discharging means, and a sheet guide are all slanted from the vertical direction. Support means, which supports the printed sheet discharged from the paper discharging means in a state that it is slanted from the vertical direction to the inside of the image forming apparatus, is formed by the side portion of the case. The lower-edge support for supporting the lower edge of the discharged sheet is positioned at a level that is higher than the lower edge of the sheet to be fed. The slanting angle of the support means is selected to have such a value as to prevent the sheet from slipping down from the support means when the image forming apparatus is laid down.

  • Patent number: 5623722
Abstract: A document set compiler and eject apparatus including a belt transport system as well as an output roll system, wherein the belt and rolls of each respective system operate in conjunction with one another to provide smooth and effective transport of the document set from a compiler tray to an output tray. In particular, the output rolls, located downstream from the belt, are driven at a speed substantially greater than the speed of the transport belts for actively removing the document set from the belts to prevent damage to the trail edge thereof. The compiler tray also includes a retard roll system for maintaining the registration of the document set as it is transferred from the transport belts to the output rolls.

  • Patent number: 5572291
Abstract: A transparent film for forming, e.g., a toner image thereon is provided as an optically transparent sheet member having an opaque part. During the image forming, the position and conveyance state of the transparent film are detected optically by utilizing the opaque part. After the image formation, the opaque part is cleared by (i) detaching the opaque part under heating, or (ii) clarifying the opaque part by heating and/or light illumination. Accordingly, the opaque part required for image forming does not adversely affect the final transparent film product, such as an overhead projection film. The clearing of the opaque part may be performed, e.g., along with the fixation of the toner image onto the transparent film.
