  • Publication number: 20140165273
Abstract: A portable, self-contained toilet is provided that does not require water, and produces its own energy without the need for an external source of power. The toilet includes and external housing for providing protection from environmental elements to components of the toilet and to human users of the toilet. A toilet bowl directs liquid and solid waste into a collection hopper. Once the hopper is full, a turntable or other rotary device is indexed to advance the waste filled hopper to an intermediary position. From there, the hopper is moved onto a burner, where the collected human waste is separated into liquid and solid waste. As a result of heating, the liquid waste turns to steam and is removed from the hopper, collected, filtered and the resulting distilled water stored. The remaining solid bio-fuel may be removed and disposed of or used as needed.

  • Patent number: 8533873
Abstract: An improved incinerating commode for the disposal of human waste through injection of a combustible or cleaning fluid into the chamber where the waste is incinerated, separation of the urine component from the fecal component of human waste, the use of one or more burners, the use of a baffle to increase heat and create turbulent flow, and use of the urine component mixed with a cleaning fluid to steam clean and cool the chamber that incinerates the waste. Cyclic rate is improved by the introduction of a water cooling jacket around the combustion chamber to decrease both cooling and pre-heating times for the combustion chamber. Waste is directed into the combustion chamber using a splash plate.

  • Patent number: 7730558
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a treatment apparatus for excrement of a rest room wherein sludge is able to be separated and incinerated via a simplified process without a vacuum drying of excrement that is transferred from a storage tank, whereby continuous treatment of excrement is possible, resulting in an increase in excrement treatment efficiency and capacity while achieving a reduction in maintenance costs. Also, in the present invention, water contained in excrement is able to be purified with a high efficiency, whereby the purified water can be reused as wash water of a toilet or directly drained without a separate post-treatment.

Abstract: A system and method for a refuse-incinerating toilet is provided. The system includes a seat on which a user sits to direct refuse, via a funnel and through a flapper that is opened when a user is present, into a combustion chamber. When the user is finished, the flapper is shut and the user sets a timer for the amount of time a burner, tiltedly mounted to the combustion chamber and whose flame is directed at the refuse in the combustion chamber, is to operate to burn the refuse. Any fumes or vapour may escape the combustion chamber via an exhaust. A fan, insulation of various system components, and a false bottom are provided to aid cooling of the system after the burner incinerates the refuse.

  • Patent number: 6496988
Abstract: A self-contained toilet that has no water consumption and does not use chemicals. A toilet bowl cleaned by combining compressed air and liquid through jets to reduce flush volume. The flush liquid supply reclaimed through distillation. The dehydration chamber cleaned by scraping and blowing of the waste. The dehydration process coming from a highly efficient heat, air and grinding chamber. The air compressor pressurizing the tank to clean the bowl and/or empty and dehydrate the chamber contents. The compressor intake used to eliminate odors from the bowl and vent the humidity from the dehydration process. The dehydration process controlled through temperature sensors that detect relative humidity. A toilet wherein it will operate while being used, flush within two minutes and the dehydration process able to be interrupted repeatedly with other deposits of human waste then resume operation until fully dehydrated.
