Publication number: 20080313797Abstract: The discharge valve has a valve housing (14) which has an outlet opening with a valve seat (16) and also a closure body (12). A two-quantity actuator (4) has a connecting rod (10) which is connected to the closure body (12) and by means of which the closure body (12) can optionally be raised by different displacement distances. A top activatable partial-quantity float (13) is provided for partial flushing and a bottom, full-quantity float (20), which is mounted in a pivotable manner on the valve housing (14), is provided for full flushing. The full-quantity float (20) has a blocking element (22) which, once partial flushing has been triggered, engages with the closure body (12) and blocks the latter against further displacement. Patent number: 6397526Abstract: A gutter cleaner comprises a float portion and a stem portion. The float portion comprises a float piece that typically has a size larger than the downspout opening of a gutter in which the gutter cleaner is installed. Accordingly, the float will not flow down or become lodged in the downspout. The float piece is made of materials or in a manner such that the float piece will be raised within the gutter when water flows there through. The stem portion typically is attached to the float portion and extends downwardly into the downspout of the gutter. As rainwater flows into the gutter and down the downspout, the water will raise the float while the stem portion will remain extending downwardly into the downspout. The flow of the water agitates the stem and the float regions of the gutter cleaner. This agitation action reduces the buildup of small twigs and pine needles at the downspout region, thereby facilitating the flow of debris and water down the downspout and out of the gutter.Type: GrantFiled: February 29, 2000Date of Patent: June 4, 2002Inventors: Gregory W. Patent number: 6336229Abstract: A water saving apparatus for water tank includes a stop valve means located above a water outlet, a linkage bar means located above the stop valve means and two chains for connecting the stop valve means with the linkage bar means. The stop valve means has a valve cap engaged with a movable strut and a hollow ball for linking to a tank ball. The linkage bar means has a handle located outside the water tank. The handle engages with a shaft stem and a shaft sleeve for actuating two beams located inside the tank. The chains connect the beams respectively with the tank ball, hollow ball and movable strut. Moving the handle downward, one beam will be moved up to make the hollow ball become buoyant for opening the water outlet rapidly to release a large amount of water to flush feces. Moving the handle upward, another beam will be moved up to make the hollow ball become not buoyant for closing the water outlet sooner so that a small amount of water will be released for flushing urine for saving water.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2000Date of Patent: January 8, 2002Inventor: Jeng-Yeou Guo

Patent number: 5524297Abstract: The Two-Level Flush Valve retrofits into standard toilet tanks replacing the flush valve and pull cord. Depressing the toilet handle through the usual first resistance lifts a non-buoyant valve (20) open. It is held open by an upper float (28) fastened onto a pull cord (24). When water lowers to the level of upper float (28) the float drops, allowing the valve to close. This accomplishes a short-duration flush that clears liquid waste from the toilet bowl and saves about a half tank of water. Depressing the handle through a second resistance causes valve (20) to pull a carriage (32) up and out of a latch (52). Lower floats (40) on carriage (32) hold valve (20) open until the tank is almost empty. This accomplishes a full flush that ensures that solid waste is flushed out without leaving dirty water in the toilet bowl. A valve delayer (62) holds valve (20) slightly open for a few seconds to allow complete refilling of the toilet bowl.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 1994Date of Patent: June 11, 1996Inventor: John S. Patent number: 4155128Abstract: A toilet tank flush valve assembly including a vinyl foam valve closure element is disclosed. A guide element is attached to the bottom of the valve closure element and extends into the flush pipe when the valve closure element is seated for guiding the seating of the valve closure element. A linkage element links the bottom of the valve closure element to the inside of the flush pipe below the valve seat for limiting upward vertical movement of the valve closure element and for limiting revolution of the valve closure element about the overflow pipe when the valve closure element is lifted off of the valve seat so that the bottom extremity of the guide is not moved horizontally to a position that is not within the valve seat.A vinyl foam disc-shaped buoy is attached to the top of the valve closure element by a ball chain and is restrained from moving more than a predetermined length of the chain from the valve closure element.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 1978Date of Patent: May 22, 1979Inventor: Arthur M. Patent number: 4135263Abstract: Apparatus operative to selectively discharge substantially all or only a predetermined portion of the water within the flush tank of a toilet. The apparatus includes an open ended float having selectively regulatable venting ports for controlling float weight and buoyancy by the water-air ratio therein. The float is constructed in a size adaptable to most existing commode flush tanks and is assembled therein by attachment directly to the flush valve thereof. The float water-air ratio is then set into the desired flush mode by selective venting of the ports whereby an unweighted float will permit a full flush and a water filled float will drive the flush valve into a premature closure for discharging only a portion of the water within the flush tank.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 1977Date of Patent: January 23, 1979Inventor: John K.
