Abstract: A suction fitting assembly for a bathing installation includes a cover with a pattern of orifices, a wall fitting, and an adapter structure. The wall fitting is configured for insertion through a hole in a wall of a bathing water receptacle, and may be secured in place with a locking nut. The cover is fastened to the wall fitting on the bather side of the wall. A suction adapter structure is connected to the wall fitting. A function of the suction adaptor structure is to admit air through an air tube from the atmosphere to the suction line during a blocked condition, rendering pump operation ineffective.

Abstract: A spa system includes a tub supported by a chassis, an enclosed space formed between the tub and the chassis, first and second vents through the chassis leading to the enclosed space, water heating and cooling devices coupled in series to a circulating system adapted to withdraw and return water relative to the tub, and a thermostat operatively coupled to the heating and cooling devices. The cooling device incorporates a fan operative for drawing air into the enclosed space through the first vent in response to activation of the cooling device, and a blower is operative for expelling air from the enclosed space through the second vent currently with the operation of the fan of the cooling device.

Abstract: A system for decontaminating a fluid-injection system for a tub from organic growth comprises an ozone source and a pressure source, producing an ozone-enriched air output. Piping is connected to a fluid-injection system. A controller device actuates the ozone source and the pressure source such that the ozone-enriched air output is conveyed to conduits of the fluid-injection system. A switch manually actuated to stop an actuation of the ozone source, whereby organic growth in the conduits of the fluid-injection system is exposed to the ozone-enriched air output.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments of systems and methods directed to a pedicure spa apparatus. A pedicure spa can include a basin having an embedded light aperture on a first interior surface of the basin. The embedded light aperture can further includes a light passing layer configured to fluidically seal the embedded light aperture and be substantially seamless with the first interior surface of the basin. The pedicure spa can also include a water agitation device coupled to an interior surface of the basin and a magnetic actuator coupled to an opposing surface of the interior surface.

Abstract: A foot spa tub includes a tub basin, a first magnetic drive member rotatably coupled to a drive motor, and a first casing supporting the magnetic drive member. The first casing is disposed against an exterior surface of a sidewall of the basin. A second magnetic drive member is rotatably coupled to a blade. The first and second magnetic drive members are magnetically coupled to each other so that the blade is drivingly coupled to the drive motor. A nozzle houses the second magnetic drive member and the blade. When the fluid level in the basin reaches a predetermined high level the control system turns off the fluid. Abstract: The tub has a disposable plastic liner configured to the shape of the tub. A pump assembly, having a housing and an electric motor within the housing, drives a drive element. The liner has an opening aligned with the pump assembly, and that opening is sealed around its periphery against the impeller housing of an impeller assembly. The impeller assembly in turn attaches to the pump assembly, preferably in a readily releasable manner such as by the use of magnets. The impeller housing contains an impeller, having a drive shaft which extends through a seal in the rear of the housing and is has a coupling which is engaged by the drive element to rotate the impeller. A cover plate having impeller inlets and outlets attaches to the impeller housing on the tub side of the liner. The entire tub liner and impeller assembly may be removed and disposed of after use.

The power unit further includes an air compressor to create a pressurized air. The flexible air hose is connected to a water jet board. The flexible air hose has a first and second connector, one at each end. The water jet board is comprised of a bottom plate laminated to a top plate. The hydro-jet board is constructed by laminating two pre-formed plastic sheets to create the specific air channels thereby supplying pulsating water jets at specific zones.

When the valve is opened, water is diverted from the manifold thereby reducing the volume of water supplied to the jets and thus reducing the pressure of the water streams at the associated seat without affecting the water pressure at other seats. A spa according to the invention includes a plurality of seats, each associated with a group of water jets, each group of jets being coupled to a valve system with an associated pump.

Abstract: A water circulating system, such as a spa system, is disclosed having a flow control feature. In one embodiment, the spa system includes a tub, a pump assembly and a controller. The pump assembly includes a BLDC motor and circulates water from the tub's outlet port to its inlet port. The controller sets the speed of the BLDC motor to any speed within the speed range of the BLDC motor in response to a user input to adjust the flow rate of the water to the inlet port of the tub. The spa system may also produce at least one jetting mode in response to a user input. The jetting mode may be a pulse mode, a sinusoidal mode, a ramp mode, or a saw-tooth mode. In another spa system, a first pump operates at a first speed to heat the circulating water when a heater is activated, and at a second speed when the heater is not activated. In other embodiments, the spa system includes a jetting pump assembly that includes a BLDC motor and a circulating pump assembly that operates at two speeds.
