Patent number: 11497357Abstract: A bed positionable bathing assembly for bathing a bedridden user includes a sheet and a frame. The sheet is substantially impervious to water. The sheet comprises a bottom and a sidewall. The sidewall extends from a circumference of the bottom. The sheet is flexible so that the sidewall is positionable substantially coplanarly with the bottom. The sheet is positionable between a mattress and a user positioned on the mattress. The frame has a lower limit, which is positionable upon the sheet so that the frame surrounds the user. The frame has an upper limit, which is selectively engageable to an upper perimeter of the sidewall so that the sidewall extends transversely or substantially perpendicularly from the bottom and the mattress. The sheet thus defines a reservoir, which can collect water used in bathing the user.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2021Date of Patent: November 15, 2022Inventor: Jane Regalado

Patent number: 10913597Abstract: A collapsible frame for a liquid holding tank is provided. The frame has orthogonal upper and lower rails spaced by vertical struts. The upper and lower rails have hinges at each corner thereof and orthogonally aligned hinges at midpoints and quarterpoints of two opposed sides thereof. The frame can be expanded or collapsed between a fully expanded and a fully collapsed condition by operation of the midpoint hinges and corner hinges. The frame can be expanded or collapsed between a fully expanded and a semi-expanded condition by operation of either the quarterpoint and corner hinges or the midpoint, quarterpoint, and corner hinges. The fully collapsed condition is primarily designed for storage, the semi-expanded condition allows the size of the tank to be reduced to accommodate site constraints, and the fully expanded condition maximizes the tank's liquid storage capacity.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 2018Date of Patent: February 9, 2021Inventor: Jay V. Patent number: 10192462Abstract: A bath trainer is provided defined by a bucket having sides forming an interior water-tight space for holding water, said sides being configured to fold to a closed position when the bucket is not in use and unfold to an open position for receiving water; and a mat configured to be removably attached to said bucket. While the bucket is closed, other elements may be stored therein, such as a mug for pouring water and rising, a stool, bathing toys, etc. At least some portion of the bucket is made of a thermochromatic material that changes color with temperature so that a user can determine whether the water within the bucket is at an appropriate temperature for a child to take a bath.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2017Date of Patent: January 29, 2019Inventor: Djimir Gouboth

Patent number: 10010463Abstract: A collapsible bed bath article which is erectable over the mattress of a hospital-style bed and provides a water impervious enclosure having a drain for rinsing a bed bound patient. In one embodiment, side panels of the article are equipped with pockets which are configured to fit over portions of raised side rails of a hospital-style bed. In another embodiment, a pocket for a side rail of a bed may be produced on an ad hoc basis by adhering portions of each side panel to itself, or to the side rail, thus forming a partial encapsulation of the bed side rail.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 2016Date of Patent: July 3, 2018Inventor: Jonathan Brice King

Patent number: 9049968Abstract: A pen for washing a small child, intended for use in a shower or bathtub. The floor panel is flat, resilient for the comfort and safety of the child, and perforated to allow water to flow through. The upper frame assembly provides a handrail too high for the child to trip, fall, or climb over, but low enough for the child to comfortably hold itself upright or pull itself to a standing position. Smooth, perforated side panels allow free flow of water while safely confining the child to the interior of the pen. For use in bathing, the pen relies on the surrounding bathtub to hold water. For use in showering, the pen retains no water. The pen may be collapsible for easy storage.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2010Date of Patent: June 9, 2015Inventor: Norman Ellison

Patent number: 5809588Abstract: A collapsible baby tub for attachment to a conventional bath or its surround. The baby tub includes a generally rectangular sheet, made of a flexible material that is impervious to water, for example, a vinyl, a plasticized material or a rubberized fabric. Support structures brace the sheet within the conventional bathtub. The supporting means include nylon cords and rods; a swivelling suction cup assembly or bracket hooks are used to fasten the rods onto the bathtub or its surround. Two embodiments of the rod fasteners are disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 1997Date of Patent: September 22, 1998Inventor: Christopher Angelotti

Patent number: 5345622Abstract: The method of forming an inflatable tub that includes shaping inner and outer plastic sheets to form tub upright side walls and end walls, and corners between the walls; bonding the sheets at each wall to form panels bonded together at certain locations, and introducing inflation fluid between the sheet to space them apart from one another at other locations about the panels by inflation pressure, whereby each wall defines upright inner and outer sides with substantially uniform maximum spacing between the inner and outer sides along the inflated walls between the corners; and providing the tub with a bottom wall defined by bottom plastic sheet structure connected to lowermost extents of the side and end walls and the corners.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 1993Date of Patent: September 13, 1994Inventor: Clifford Plone

Patent number: 5271107Abstract: An infant support having a supporting hammock and securement structure therefor for securing the supporting hammock to plural side frame members of the support. An infant holding device is provided and is movable between a first position overlaying from side-to-side an upwardly facing surface of the support hammock and a second position thereof lying at a side thereof. A releasable connection is provided for facilitating a releasable securement of the infant holding structure in the first position, a release of the releasable connection structure facilitating a movement of the infant holding structure to the second position. A pair of parallel rocker slats are provided and a releasable coupling structure is provided for securing each end region of a rocker slat to the lower end of a pair of laterally spaced legs to enable the infant support to be rocked when said rocker slats are connected to the lower ends of respective ends of a transversely spaced pair of legs.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 1992Date of Patent: December 21, 1993Inventors: Sonia M. Patent number: 4485502Abstract: A portable bathing tub for invalids, especially bed-ridden persons. There is a large waterproof sheet which is laid on one half of the width of the bed, while the person rolls to the other half. Then the person rolls onto the half where the sheet has been placed, and the remainder of the sheet is extended over the second half of the bed, and the margins are gathered up close to or onto the person when the person is approximately centered on the bed. A frame of four L-shaped members, preferably made of plastic material, is erected to form a rectangular enclosure of low walls around the person. The edges of the waterproof sheet are then placed against these low walls and extend up the inside surfaces of the walls and are folded over the top edges of the walls, held there by spring clips. Water is then added to this shallow tub, so the person may bathe or be bathed. An outlet conduit allows the water to be drained when the bath is completed.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1982Date of Patent: December 4, 1984Inventor: Louis Marcanio
