Abstract: A shower apparatus includes a primary shower head having fluid connection to a three-way valve member, with the three-way valve member permitting selective fluid flow to the primary shower housing permitting fluid flow selectively to the primary shower head, a pulse shower head, or a brush shower head. The brush shower head is arranged to permit directing a liquid soap through the brush shower head onto a user of the organization.

Abstract: A bracket for supporting a hand shower adjacent a wall has a base part adapted to be fixed to the wall, formed with a throughgoing passage extending along a horizontal axis generally parallel to the wall, and having axially oppositely directed sides. A holder part pivotal on the base part about the axis on one of the axial sides of the base part is formed on the axis with an upwardly open seat adapted to receive the hand shower. A bolt extending axially through the passage has to the other axial side of the base part a threaded end and to the one axial side of the base part a radially projecting flange bearing axially toward the base part on the holder part. Interengaging formations on the bolt and base part rotationally fix the bolt in the base part while permitting it to move axially therein. A nut threaded on the threaded end of the bolt and bears axially on the other axial side of the base part.

Abstract: A portable washing apparatus includes a rectangularly-shaped plastic pipe frame structure to which water and soap dispensing devices are attached. Opposed ends of the structure have water dispensers for respectively providing an initial wetting and subsequent rinsing of a child passing through the structure. A soap spray dispenser is provided after the initial wetting dispenser, and a subsequent pair of cloth scrubbers are also interiorly positioned on the structure. A child, either walking or riding a toy vehicle through the structure, is washed by being initially wetted, then sprayed with a soap spray, followed by a cloth scrubbing and a subsequent rinsing. A unique spray buffer system facilitates the creation of a combined liquid curtain and mist for all of the associated liquid dispensers.

Abstract: A bathing apparatus is designed specifically for aged or infirm bathers to improve their independence. A conventional tub and shower enclosure is modified by a modular system including a pivotal support bar member which can move to a position projecting outwardly from the rear wall of the shower enclosure to enable the bather to stand at the bath. The bar member includes a lower horizontal bar against which the stomach of the bather rests and an upper bar spaced away from the stomach which can be grasped by the hands of the bather. A swivelling showerhead is mounted on the rear wall and includes a handle allowing a flooding type shower head to be moved back and forth over the head of the bather. A transfer chair can be provided which is mounted on a vertical post at one corner of the bathtub and includes an arm projecting horizontally outwardly from the post which can swivel around the post. A chair is canti levered downwardly and forwardly from the arm and swivels on the arm.

Abstract: An enclosure support for fluid nozzles in a shower facility wherein there are linkage members for oscillating the nozzles as well as an oscillating member for effecting oscillation with the linkage members and the oscillating member being connected to the support wall which is hinged for connection to a wall member. The hinging member allows for complete access to the back of the support wall without detachment from the wall. In another embodiment, there are fluid nozzles which are attached to a pulsating member with the pulsating member attached to the support wall which is hinged to allow access to the pulsating member at the back of the support wall. Alternatively, the support wall can have connected thereto both the linkage members, the oscillating member, as well as the pulsating member.

Abstract: A bracket assembly for securing a fitting to a wall. The assembly has a generally T-section plate having a pair of parallel T-flanges, fasteners securing the plate to the wall with the flanges substantially parallel to the wall, a holder adapted to carry the fitting and formed with a T-section slot open at one end, substantially complementary to the flanges of the plate, and normally receiving the plate, and an elastically deflectable latching tongue formed on the holder at the one end and retaining the holder and plate together. Spring formations resiliently engaged between the plate and the holder retain same snugly together. These formations are elastically deformable ribs on the flanges of the plate. The ribs are unitarily formed with the flanges.

Abstract: A shower holder for the mounting support of a hand-held shower on a wall rod contains a guidance element displaceably guided on the outside of the wall rod and whose length is at least twice as large as the wall rod diameter. With the aid of at least one strut a mounting support for the hand-held shower is fixed to the guidance element and has a spacing from the wall rod which is at least as large as the length of the guidance element.

Abstract: A water conserving shower assembly utilizes a novel distributor connected to a domestic water line carrying hot and cold water combined in a predetermined ratio. A piping system carries water from the distributor and terminates in a shower head. The piping system is provided with a valve assembly which incorporates an on-off valve for interrupting the flow of water to the shower head, a flow metering device operated solely by means of a unique key, and a dump valve for bypassing the on-off valve and diverting water from the shower head while the shower temperature is coming to equilibrium at the temperature established by the hot-cold water ratio. A container captures the diverted water for later use.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for managing waste from patient care, maintenance, and/or treatment includes an inflatable bladder member disposed to support at least a first portion of the body of the patient. A flexible basin member is fitted over the bladder and receives waste materials, and a filter sheet is disposed atop the basin member. The basin member is connected to a holding reservoir and a vacuum blower. A liquid waste pump is connected to the holding reservoir to transfer liquid waste to a waste jug. A vacuum wand provides rinsing liquid from a rinse liquid jug via a rinse liquid pump and provides suction via the vacuum blower. Liquid levels in each of the rinse liquid jug, the waste jug, and the holding reservoir, are monitored by liquid level sensing devices which supply signals to a microprocessor which controls various functions of the apparatus. Special inflatable sacks are provided to assist turning the patient to facilitate cleansing of the patient.

Abstract: A mounting bracket for a hand shower having a support stem has a support adapted to be stationarily fixed, a holder formed with a forked seat shaped to receive the hand-shower stem, and interengaging formations on the holder and support for pivoting of the holder on the support about a normally horizontal axis while retaining the holder and support against relative axial movement. An array of radially extending ridges formed on the support, surrounding the axis, and projecting toward the holder engage with complementary ridges formed on a flange of a retaining element rotationally coupled to the holder. A locking bolt axially fixed in the support axially presses the retaining-element ridges against the support ridges so that the holder can be pivoted about the axis on the support with elastic deformation of the flange.

Abstract: A shower personal hygiene system is provided which consists of a directional fitting connected between a shower neck pipe extending through a wall in a shower stall and a shower head, a hand held attachment and a mechanism for providing fluid communication between the directional fitting and the hand held attachment, so that a person in the shower stall can utilize water under pressure coming from the shower neck pipe to clean various parts of their body.

Abstract: A shower water filter assembly includes a housing having a cavity for a filter element which is relatively large relative to the cross section of the water pipe to which the assembly is attached. A water inlet and a water outlet to the housing couple to a shower pipe and a shower nozzle, respectively. The cavity portion of the housing containing the filter element is laterally displaced from the inlet and outlet along the line of the shower pipe. When the filter assembly is operatively connected to the shower pipe, the filter element can be located vertically above the water inlet and the water outlet, and the height of the shower head is not reduced by the interspersed filter assembly.

Abstract: A decontamination system for rinsing hazardous materials from victims or suited emergency personnel using hand held thin flat octagonal rings of square aluminum tubing having a plurality of radially inwardly directed nozzles for simultaneously spraying water inwardly toward all sides of the part of a person at the center of the ring in a pattern from each nozzle which is wide but confined to about the thickness of the ring. Each ring has two external diametrically opposed sockets for receiving telescoping handles for spraying movement by one or two assisting persons, or it may be manipulated by a user for self-spraying by being hand held or by being pulled down around the user from an elevated horizontal position in which it is supported by elastic cords within a tent frame structure.

Upon pressing a control button (200), the rotatable head (94) is rotated such that water is delivered through selected one of the spray heads (132; 134; 136; 138). To establish a fluid tight seal between the rotary head (94) and the water conduit (58) while avoiding frictional contact therebetween in order to reduce the torque required for the micromotor (190) to rotate the head (94), a water pressure-responsive movable sealing member (104; 260) is arranged. Abstract: A shower device includes a plurality of nozzles provided to a housing, supplied hot and cold water to the nozzles being turned on and off through solenoid valves which are provided in a self-maintaining type and are supplied with a power from a low voltage power source through a controller. The device is thereby made simple and easy in its installation and to be operable for a long term with considerably low voltage and small power.

Abstract: A knockdown, portable hot water shower and shower head therefor is disclosed. The shower includes a gas burner, so that an adequate hot water supply is always provided. A unique shower head permits the use of a pump that is powered by a small energy source, such as "D" cell batteries. The shower head has a special arrangement of the apertures formed in the face thereof, so that even water delivered thereto at a low pressure by a small pump may be delivered to a user as a water spray. The shower is readily disassemblable and the components thereof are either nested in the water reservoir or are carried thereon for easy storage and transportability when not in use. This nesting arrangement permits the use of a gas burner in a portable shower.

An arrangement is provided for hanging up the sponge if a user wishes to use the shower with the spray instead of with the cascading flow of water.

A fluid mixture of hot water and air can be jetted out in an arbitrary direction by using the nozzle.

Abstract: A plumbing fitting has a flexible hose suppliable with water under pressure and having an outer end, an upstream end piece having an upstream side connected to the outer end and a downstream side, and a downstream end piece having a downstream side and an upstream side. An outer sleeve has an upstream end and a downstream end and respective couplings releasably connect the upstream end of the sleeve to the downstream side of the upstream end piece and the downstream end of the sleeve to the upstream side of the downstream end piece. An inner tube having a downstream end connected to the upstream side of the downstream end piece and an upstream end connected to the downstream side of the upstream end piece forms a flow conduit therebetween. Seals are provided at the ends of the tube between same and the respective sides of the end pieces.

The filter housing is filled with granulated or randomly oriented fibrous material which chemically interacts with chlorine in the water passing through the unit. Typical filter material is in the form of a copper/zinc metal alloy.

The socket member and the coupling member are releasably retained in frictional engagement by a spring biased ball detent means.

Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for dispensing liquid soap into or adjacent to a water stream emitted from a primary shower head mounted to a water line of a selected size. The apparatus has an auxiliary shower head from which a branch line extends of a size smaller than the water line size. It also has a mount for mounting the auxiliary shower head adjacent to the primary shower head with the branch line in fluid communication with the water line. A liquid soap reservoir is mounted in valved fluid communication with the auxiliary shower head.

Abstract: A hand-operated shower head is designed for mounting to the inner wall of a bathtub, with a squeeze pump for drawing water from the bathtub and forcing it up through a length of flexible tubing through a decorative shower head at the top. The device is useful for the amusement of a child while taking a bath.

Abstract: A hydraulic massage method in which a spray enclosure consisting of a drainage hood and a sump and at least one spray nozzle controlled by a coordinate guide. A patient is placed upon the readily deformable impact area and is separated from direct contact with the working fluid. The patient support may consist of a flexible screen in the form of a tensioned cable grid supported by a frame on supports. The sump may be bounded by a perforated draining partition splitting of an additional compartment of the sump named reservoir. Fluid drained into the sump and the reservoir, if any, may be reused.

Abstract: In brief, the invention includes a portable shower and spray apparatus which is adapted to selectively direct a jet of water in a desired direction. The apparatus includes a generally planar base which is adapted to be placed directly on the ground or suspended from an elevated anchoring point. Attached to one side of the base is a housing which is sized and positioned so as to enclose a portion of a water conduit. The conduit has a terminal end which may conveniently be connected to a water hose of the type commonly used to water a yard or a garden; the conduit also has a functional end with a shower head attached thereto. Mounted at an intermediate location of the water conduit is a control valve for regulating the amount of water which exits the shower head. The preferred planar base covers an area of nearly 170 square inches, which makes the apparatus very stable when it is resting directly on the ground, and it is not easily tipped over.

Abstract: This invention provides for a portable dental cleaning system which includes a lower housing (2) having an upper opening (22) and a lower opening (23). The lower housing (2) defines an internal housing reservoir for maintaining a liquid therein. The upper opening (22) is surrounded by a washer (6) which is mounted to the lower housing (2). At one end of a water faucet (7) is inserted through a central opening of the washer member (6) for insertion of water within the reservoir chamber. The lower opening (23) is threadedly secured to a liquid conduit (3) on one end of the liquid conduit (3). The liquid conduit (3) on an opposing end is coupled to a liquid passage member which egresses water through a water jet tip (5) having a water jet tip outlet (50) on one end thereof. In this manner, water is efficiently egressed into the oral cavity of a user.

Abstract: A massage using a water jet without contact of the body of the subject with the water is effected by positioning the subject on an openwork support covered by a water impermeable flexible layer. An indicator above the patient displacing the location at which the massage is occurring and is coupled to the nozzle directing an upward jet against the layer from below. The operator can control the position of the nozzle in accordance with the indication.

Abstract: A portable body shower includes a plurality of tubular sections which can be connected to form a pipe with a closed bottom end and a hollow center. The top end of the pipe can be connected to any standard shower extension. The pipe extends downward and has perforations for supplying water in a horizontal direction toward a person showering. The device also includes non-perforated tubular sections so that water is directed at selected areas of a person's body adjacent the perforated sections. A tubular section is also provided for dispensing soap. The body shower includes a swivel joint to enable the pipe to be rotated to direct water in any direction. The tubular sections are made of a plastic material such as polyvinylchloride.

Abstract: Apparatus including an oral syringe for attachment to a shower head for cleaning the teeth and gums while showering. The oral syringe is connected to water flowing under pressure to the shower head through a unique valving assembly which diverts a manually adjustable portion of the water flowing to the shower head into a passageway lying at right angles to the direction of the flow of the water into the shower head. A manually adjustable valve stem including an O-ring valve is located in the passageway and controls the flow of water through an axial passageway in the valve stem. A flexible hose connected to the rear end of the valve stem conveys the water to the oral syringe. The valve stem also controls a diverter valve which can be adjusted to cut off the flow of water to the shower head in the event of low water line pressure to insure sufficient water pressure to the oral syringe for proper cleaning of the teeth and gums.

Abstract: A device for hydraulic massages comprising: (A) a spray enclosure consisting of a drainage hood (5) and a sump (8) and (B) at least one spray nozzle (9) controlled by a coordinate guide (13). A patient is placed upon the readily deformable impact area (1) and is separated from direct contact with the working fluid. The patient support may consist of a flexible screen (2) in the form of a tensioned cable grid supported by a frame (3) on supports (4). The sump (8) may be bounded by a perforated draining partition (7) splitting off an additional compartment of the sump (8) named reservoir (12). Fluid drained into the sump (8) and the reservoir (12), if any, may be reused.

Abstract: A shower head assembly is comprised of a diverter valve for diverting the water supply to one of two shower heads. One of the shower heads is generally laterally and adjustably displaced from the other of said shower heads by means of a swivable extension arm and the entire assembly is easily installable on the existing overhead water supply line of a shower stall or bath enclosure.

Abstract: A flow control assembly designed to regulate flow of water from a showerhead through a foot operated and fluid actuated valve assembly. The valve assembly is disposed upstream of a flow of water issuing from the showerhead and a variable volume chamber is mounted on the floor or base of a conventional receptacle such as a bathtub. Foot pressure applied to the variable volume chamber controls the flow of actuating fluid into and out of driving contact with the valve assembly thereby positioning the latter between a valve open and a valve closed position.
