Abstract: A portable washbasin system for providing clean water for washing hands and maintaining appropriate hygiene, the system including a housing structure with an upper compartment and a lower compartment spaced apart from one another, and a sink supported on the housing structure between the upper and lower compartments. A water storage tank is housed in the upper compartment, where the sink receives water from the water storage tank and dispenses the water for use. The system further includes a water receptacle housed in the lower compartment for collecting wastewater from the sink for subsequent disposal.

At least one of the inputs is a platform positioning mechanism in communication with a lift system configured to move the work platform vertically between a stowed position and a deployed position. The display is configured to receive and present output obtained by a sensor monitoring a parameter of the work platform.

Therefore the water in the barrel can be repeatedly used.

Optionally, the backsplash can be connected to one or more appliances in the kitchen in order to communicate information and/or power. The backsplash may also include a ventilation channel to direct vented air from a range to a ventilation shaft.

The electric hand dryer preferably includes an outlet to direct air across the associated basin so that any water that drips from the user's hands fall within the basin. A control system may be provided to control activation of the fixtures such as the solenoid valve, the electric hand dryer, and/or soap dispenser. The control system may be configured to inhibit simultaneous activation of the solenoid valve and the hand dryer. A photovoltaic system may be provided to provide power.

Abstract: A detergent-recycling apparatus includes two containers. The first container includes two inlet ports, an outlet port and a drain valve. The first inlet port allows pressurized air to travels into the first container. The second inlet port allows detergent and contaminants to travel into the first container. The drain valve releases the contaminants from the first container. The second container includes an inlet port and an outlet port. The inlet port of the second container is connected to the outlet port of the first container to allow the pressurized air to carry the detergent into the second container from the first container while the contaminants deposit in the first container. The outlet port releases the detergent as well as the pressurized air from the second container.

Abstract: A portable hand washing station is provided. The station has a durable carrying case which defines an interior hand washing compartment. The front wall is adapted to include a door to permit hand access into the interior of the hand washing compartment. A lid is connected to the case so that the lid is capable of extending in an upright vertical position. A shelf is connected to the interior surface of the lid. The shelf has a pair of spaced apart valve openings. A pair of liquid dispensing reservoirs is supported on the shelf. Each of the reservoirs includes a top wall with a mouth opening, a bottom wall with a drain opening, and a touch operated flow valve connected to the bottom wall in liquid communication to the bottom wall. The flow valves are adapted to extend in axial alignment a one of the valve openings so that a cleaning or rinsing solution is dispensed into the compartment when the flow valves are deflected by hand.

Abstract: Food preparation sinks are disclosed which have an integral raised work area that is rinsed by an automatic system. Food waste or the like present in that area can be washed into a sump above a drain, and the weight of the waste and water in the sump is enough to automatically drive them through a baffle to a garbage disposal, without requiring the baffle to be manually opened. An automatic controller system coordinates water flow and garbage disposal operation, and the water supply can be linked to the sink below the sink rim to save counter top space. In some forms multiple rinsing nozzles are provided which pulse in altering fashion.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to novel optical sensors and novel methods for sensing optical radiation. The novel optical sensors and the novel optical sensing methods are used, for example, for controlling the operation of automatic faucets and flushers. The novel sensors and flow controllers (including control electronics and valves) require only small amounts of electrical power for sensing users of bathroom facilities, and thus enable battery operation for many years. A passive optical sensor includes a light detector sensitive to ambient (room) light for controlling the operation of automatic faucets or automatic bathroom flushers.

A diverter valve is configured in the drain line and operates between a first position wherein water from the receptacle is directed to the first collection site, and a second position wherein water from the receptacle is directed to a branch line. A temperature activated valve is provided, and a second collection site disposed downstream of the temperature activated valve.

At least one slot-like opening communicates with the fan and is arranged in the casing so as to direct an airflow transversely across the cavity. The slot-like opening is formed between opposing walls which are manufactured from a thermosetting plastics material. By manufacturing the walls of the slot-like opening from a thermosetting plastic material such as melamine, the walls of the slot-like opening can be molded economically instead of machined from metal. The thermosetting plastic material is dimensionally stable when moulded, thermally resistant and impact resistant.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for sterilizing hands includes a sink containing ozonated water. Water is continually circulated through said sink past an ozone generator which continually injects ozone into the sink. The individual sanitizes his hands by simply immersing his hands in the ozonated water for a period of time effective to destroy germs. Upstream of the sink is a secondary water circulation system which includes a second ozone generator which maintains a constant supply of ozonated water which can be added to the sink when necessary. An infrared sensor can be added to detect when individuals are using the sink and further to determine when make-up water is required. The present invention optionally will include an ozonated air hand drier or an ozonated air applicator for towels. This system is designed to ensure that individuals in, for example, food service operations maintain sanitary conditions.

The sink assembly including the basin and the faucet assembly are disposed within a drawer assembly which is stowable within a cabinet assembly located in the interior of the vehicle.

An overflow reservoir is provided to collect cold water run off prior to the time when hot water makes its way through the water pipes, and a temperature sensor switch and/or alarm controls either an automatic or manual change over from hot to cold water. In addition, a microprocessor and key board control various water delivery functions such as volume and temperature. The control system reduces leakage and saves water which would otherwise be lost due to running the hot water until it becomes heated to the desired temperature.

In one timing cycle, when one switch is actuated and then the other switch is actuated within a predetermined time period, both solenoid valves will be turned on to provide approximately equal volumes of water to the faucet for a predetermined time period. In another timing cycle, when one switch is actuated and the other switch is actuated within a predetermined time period, the solenoid valve means energized by the first switch will be turned off and the second solenoid valve will be turned on for a predetermined time period.
