Abstract: A mobile nursing home unit is formed by an upright cabinet containing an assembly of nursing facilities including a sink and a superposed gray water tank and fresh water reservoir selectively supplying water to and draining from the sink into the gray water tank. Miscelleanous washcloths, soaps, lotions, towels and other desired small items are temporarily stored on the cabinet top wall and maintained thereon during mobile movement of the cabinet by a kitchen rail extending along adjacent edge limits of the top wall.

Abstract: An integral unit for mounting complete wall-mounted sanitary appliances comprises a flat profiled support (1) and a sectional box structure (3) which are intended to be fixed to a wall (5) one below the other, the first (1) of which is intended to support both a sanitary appliance and corresponding accessories (13), which are received in the box structure (3). The support (1) comprises two lateral elements (6; 66) for its fixing to the wall (5), and a central channel-shaped body (4) for containing the water feed and waste pipes (15), with said lateral elements (6; 66) there being associated two rods (88) for fixing and supporting the corresponding appliance (2; 20; 200).

Abstract: A wash station enclosure for installation proximate self-service gas pumps and for use by users of said pumps has a cabinet with a top surface with a flush-mounted washbasin therein. A spigot protrudes above the washbasin and communicates with a freshwater tank within the cabinet. An overhang is supported by two vertical supports which are affixed to the sides of the cabinet and support the overhang over and above the washbasin to form a sheltered space. The water within the freshwater tank is kept at a comfortable hand washing temperature by an electric heater. An electric pump communicates with the freshwater tank to cause water to flow from the tank to the spigot in response to activation of a switch. Heat lamps are mounted in the overhang soffit. The heat lamps are activated at the same time as the water flow to illuminate the washbasin and the area around it and to warm the hands of a user of the wash station by infrared radiation.

Abstract: A remote control wash basin is disclosed having a foot pedal operation. The foot pedal operates a crank to pull a wire cable that operates a lever to open a normally closed push button valve. Depressing the foot pedal latches the valve into the open position where it remains until a release pedal is depressed. The release pedal occupies the portion of the face of the foot pedal and releases the latch to allow the foot pedal to return to its normally non-operational position. The foot pedal operated fluid controlling mechanism can be added to a wash basin cabinet with minimal changes.

Abstract: A cabinet structure includes side walls, a floor, and a rear wall, and a top wall mounting a concave sink therewithin. The sink is operative through a manually operative pump and an underlying reservoir to direct fluid into the sink, with a drain associated with the sink directed into a further reservoir. A cylindrical cavity contains a series of nested cylindrical cups therewithin mounted for access in an inverted configuration. A modification of the invention includes a rear plate directed upwardly of a rear wall mounting a further reservoir, wherein the further reservoir includes a serpentine conduit, with the serpentine conduit directing metered fluid onto a simulated toothbrush member to effect oscillation of the toothbrush member, whererin the toothbrush member is biased by a spring to effect oscillation of the toothbrush upon fluid directed upon the toothbrush head.

Abstract: A sanitary fixture and cover assembly is disclosed. The cover, which is hinged to the sanitary fixture, encloses at least the area where the water delivery means, i.e. faucet, is mounted.

Abstract: A sanitizing station suitable for use in institutional kitchens and the like includes a plumbing cabinet, a sink mounted on top of the cabinet and a spray manifold for spraying a sanitizing solution mounted above the sink. The solution is a mixture of water and a sanitizing chemical. A pump is used to inject the sanitizing chemical into a water pipe that is connected to the spray manifold. Tubing connects an outlet of this pump to the pipe. An infrared proximity switch mounted above the sink operates both the pump and a solenoid valve located in the water pipe for a preset period of time upon placement of the user's hands at a predetermined location above or in the sink. A covering hood can be mounted above the sink and it can provide support for the spray manifold and the switch.

Abstract: The sink includes a basin with a drain-equipped rear portion of usual depth, or of depth adequate to perform intended tasks, and a substantially shallower forward portion. The exterior bottom of the sink portion in the front of that basin is correspondingly recessed to accommodate the knees and part of the lap of a seated user. Beside the stepped basin, the sink may have a second basin, for instance wholly of conventional depth. A number of optional sink inserts are disclosed including an imperforate pan and a perforated pan, each adapted to be removably disposed in the forward portion of a basin of the sink on two laterally spaced supports. A chopping block may be removably supported in one of the pans.

Abstract: Disclosed is an arrangement which enables highly efficient and convenient food preparation. The arrangement comprises a sink having two adjacent basins. A colander and a cutting board are arranged in one of the sinks in such a way that the cutting board is supported by the top edge of the sink while the colander is slidably supported on rails beneath the cutting board. The colander is conveniently storable beneath the cutting board but, in use, is simply slid out from beneath the cutting board whereby food chopped up on the cutting board can be scraped off into the colander for rising or draining. An overflow region may be provided in the dividing wall between the two sinks so that if one sink becomes blocked, water overflows into the second sink, and hence to the drain, rather than overflowing onto the floor.

Abstract: A sink assembly of a type including an enclosing cabinet (14) for supporting a sink bowl (16) from a floor (24) includes a liquid-impervious cabinet liner (22) supported by the cabinet (14) within an enclosed space (32) below the sink bowl (16) and its drain pipe (20) for catching water dripping from leaks and condensations. The sink liner (22) communicates with a second drain pipe (52) which exhausts water from the sink liner (22). The sink liner (22) is constructed so that its drain pan (42) is raised above a cabinet floor (40), with the drain pan (42) having tapered surfaces for accelerating flow toward the second drain pipe (52).

Abstract: A hand washing and drying device having a recessed bowl defining a hand washing and drying space. Drying structure is provided including an air moving device which is mounted to the bowl. The air moving structure further includes an outlet opening to within the drying space defined by the recessed bowl to provide an improved utilization of the drying air provided by the air moving structure. The hand washing and drying device also includes a water tank mounted to the bowl. The device may include a housing removably enclosing the bowl and components carried thereby. A wall hanger may be provided for removably mounting the housing in providing a wall-mounted installation of the device.

Abstract: A bathroom space expander including a first member removably but securely connected to a toilet tank cover, a second member swingably connected to the first member, hinge means connecting the members to a first closed storage position and a second open operational position. The second member including expandible side walls and a downwardly extending support member resting upon a toilet seat cover for keeping the second member in the horizontal operational position for use while folding clothes, diapering a baby or the like.

Abstract: A shelf attachable to wash basins is disclosed. The shelf comprises a planar horizontal surface overlaying a rim of the basin with a bowl engaging wall integral with an inner edge of the horizontal surface which abuts the surface of the bowl. A downward and inward extending wall integral with an outer edge of the horizontal surface engages an apron of the bowl. A clip is employed to attach the downward and inward extending wall to the apron. The clip includes a first leg integral with a bottom edge of the downward and inward extending wall abutting the apron and a second leg spaced from the first leg to snugly engage the apron between the legs.

Abstract: A hand washing and drying apparatus having automatic means for providing hand washing material and hand drying air. The hand washing and drying operation is effected within a space defined by a bowl. The bowl may be recessed within the apparatus to facilitate an efficient use of warm water and warm air during the hand washing and drying operation. The hand drying air outlet may be mounted to the bowl for delivering the hand drying air directly thereinto. Similarly, a means for delivering hand washing material in the form of water may be mounted directly to the bowl. The automatic controls may include manually operable portions adapted to be manipulated by the user without substantially removing his hands from the bowl space. A soap dispenser may be mounted in the device adjacent the bowl space. The bowl may be provided with an upper arm extending at a forward angle for facilitated hand washing and drying.
