Patent number: 4783922Abstract: A calendar system for training and enhancing the memory of a person practicing the methodology of the system. Two calendars are arranged side by side. The first calendar is permanent and reused each year. The user notes thereon events of perennial significance for reference at appropriate times throughout each year, thus regularly refreshing the users recollection of these events and enhancing the user's memory thereof. The second calendar is temporary in nature and meant to be replaced at regular intervals. Unlike the first calendar, the second is provided with indicia representative of the instant calendar year, as well as indicia representing the day-names of the week. The user records on this second calendar current and near-future events of transient significance. This second calendar is disposed of and a replacement provided therefor at selected regular intervals since the record of transient event data is not intended for perennial reference.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 1987Date of Patent: November 15, 1988Inventor: Theodore W. Patent number: 4756556Abstract: A book structure is disclosed that is much easier to use than books of conventional construction. It can be used by individuals with impaired motor function and by young children who have not yet developed sufficient coordination to manipulate the pages of a conventional book. Each leaf of the book is of a rigid plastic construction with projections above and below the plane of the leaf for holding printed matter on cards. The projections also serve as spacers to separate the pages from one another to facilitate grasping a selected page. Each page further has a rigid tab projection to serve as a handle. A binder assembly permanently holds the leaves for easy turning and to lie flat at any opened page. The binder includes a handle for easier carrying. The assembly is of a smooth, non-toxic plastic material that resists destruction by young children. The printed matter cards may be replaced with new editions as required without the expense of binding each edition, since the book assembly is reusable.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 1987Date of Patent: July 12, 1988Inventors: Judith L. Patent number: 4596082Abstract: An improved permanent calendar construction that allows easy removal and rearrangement of vertical date columns and yet prevents their disengagement when, for example, the calendar is tilted forward. Extending horizontally across the date column area or well, there is located at least one lipped horizontal track. Defined inthe back wall of each date column are at least two openings or grooves that can mate with the track, as desired. The lip results in a track which extends in more than one straight axial direction and thus engages the groove at least in dual directions (and with the end portion of the track furthest from the back wall terminating in an upwardly and perpendicular direction from an axis perpendicular to the back wall). An example of the preferred embodiment is a track with a right angle lip. Patent number: 4572547Abstract: The invention is directed to a method of alerting a person to a date of a future event prior to the date of that event. The method utilizes a container in which are placed day of the month numbered cards and month of the year cards in sequential order in a suitable container. File cards are filled out as required indicating the subject matter and the date of an event directed to that subject matter occurring at a future time and date. These file cards are placed sequentially in the front of the month of the year cards according to the month in which the future event falls. In the case of the current month, the day of the month cards are employed and the file cards with a future date falling within the current month are placed in front of the day of the month card with the corresponding date. The current and past day of the month cards for the current month are placed either behind the last day of the month card or in front of the month of the year card following the current month.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 1983Date of Patent: February 25, 1986Inventor: Geoff Phillips

Each of the sheets is provided with an elongate marking area which is adapted to be marked in a manner readily distinguishable from similar areas which have not been marked. Each sheet is formed with a plurality of elongate parallel openings or slots which are successively smaller in relation to the marking area and each of which is aligned with another marking area on another sheet. By stepping or displacing the marking areas from each other on successive sheets of a group of sheets to avoid overlap, a marked area becomes larger and more prominent with the removal of each successive sheet to thereby increasingly signify the imminency of the date and the reminder associated with the marked area.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 1978Date of Patent: December 11, 1979Inventor: Milton Gedzelman

Patent number: 4142311Abstract: An improved permanent calendar assembly adapted and structured to display any month of any year. As in known calendars of this type, the construction features a flat main body with forwardly protruding tracks for removable mating with date columns. For flexibility of display blocks or end pieces carrying dates "29", "30" and "31" are rotatably or removably mounted onto the date columns. The date mounting structure allows both sides of the blocks to be shown, one side carrying a date and the reverse side being blank.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 1977Date of Patent: March 6, 1979Inventor: Ronald S. Patent number: 4137659Abstract: A perpetual monthly calendar for showing the numerical days of any month related to the proper days of the week comprising a rigid planar surface having a plurality of pegs spaced apart in a horizontal line disposed near the upper edge of the surface and a plurality of vertically positionable rigid strips bearing columnized numerical indicia indicative of particular numerical days, each strip removeably coupled to a different peg. Displayed on the planar surface adjacent each peg are indicia correlating a particular peg to a particular day of the week. The numerical indicia on each strip is displayed in column form, displaying the appropriate numbered sequence one week apart. Each strip has a pair of vertically disposed apertures (except the strip having the first day of the month, which has a single aperture), each of which may receive a peg to mount the strips vertically on the board. A particular monthly numeral-day array is achieved by positioning the strips relative to the pegs.Type: GrantFiled: July 19, 1976Date of Patent: February 6, 1979Inventor: Michael A. Eddy

Patent number: 4131790Abstract: The 23 day physical biorhythmic cycle, 28 day sensitive biorhythmic cycle, and 33 day intellectual biorhythmic cycle are commonly plotted in phase relationship with each other from a point where they commonly start on the neutral axis representing birth through 100 years in 4 year groupings, with adjacent 4 year groupings being shifted 1 day corresponding to the presence of a leap year in each 4 year grouping. The chart containing the plots is provided with lines indicating day intervals and indicia representing year intervals consecutively from the beginning day of birth. A curve that is a composite of the three biorhythmic curves is vertically aligned and spaced adjacently throughout the chart.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 1977Date of Patent: December 26, 1978Inventor: Donald L. Rebsch

Patent number: 4114298Abstract: A perpetual calendar which has transparent letters and numbers positioned in a predetermined matrix arrangement on an opaque sheet. Within the predetermined matrix arrangement of numbers and letters are abbreviations for the name of each day of the week, each month of the year, and the numerals one through thirty-one. Small pieces of opaque material which will adhere to the sheet are sized to overlie any abbreviation of the name of the days of the week, any abbreviation for the months of the year, and any numerals between one and thirty-one within the matrix so that any calendar date can be readily indicated on the calendar by adhering the pieces of opaque material to the rear of the transparent letters and numerals within the matrix defining the particular month and name of day abbreviations and the day of the month.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 1977Date of Patent: September 19, 1978Inventor: Robert L. Sandelman
