Abstract: A rectangular vehicle license plate frame includes side columns which mount printed circuit boards internally. The printed circuit boards mount yellow dot transformers and an integrated chip and light a number of light emitting diodes mounted on the external surface of the columns proportionate to the strength of the signals received. The strength of the signals received is dependent on the output of the respective channels of the vehicle's stereo system to which the printed circuit boards are connected by appropriate wires. Connections to the vehicle's battery provide power for energizing the respective diodes. Thus the license plate frame displays an unlimited variation of patterns in which various numbers of LEDs are illuminated in accordance with the strength of the outputs of the stereo system in rhythmic-like fashion.
Abstract: An improved illuminated sign for adhesive bonding to the inner surface of a pane of transparent material such as the glass of an automotive window comprises a backing panel, a planar electroluminescent lamp, and an indicia-bearing member. The indicia-bearing member is smaller in planar extent than an assembly of the backing panel and the lamp. Strips of double-sided adhesive tape are applied to the border of the backing panel. The second adhesive surface of the tape is used to bond the assembly of the backing panel, the lamp and the indicia-bearing member to the inner surface of an automobile window or the like.
Abstract: A motor vehicle neon lamp device for illuminating the number plate of a motor vehicle, including a transparent plastic lamp shade sealed by a rubber packing to hold a neon tube on the inside and a power transformer on the outside in a flush manner. The lamp shade has input and output electrodes fastened inside a transformer chamber thereof and respectively connected to the battery power supply of the motor vehicle and the neon tube, which are electrically connected as the power transformer is inserted in the transformer chamber on the lamp shade.
Abstract: A new and improved apparatus for illuminating the rear portion of a vehicle and particularly the license plate of such a vehicle with a bright glowing light. The apparatus includes a transparent channel member for receiving a high voltage high frequency transformer and a single annularly shaped neon bulb therewithin for illumination purposes. The neon bulb is energized by the high voltage, high frequency transformer that is coupled to the vehicle electrical system by a low voltage high frequency power converter. The channel member is adapted to mounted adjacent to the license plate of a vehicle and scaled with a protective cover to help prevent accidental shock and to protect the bulb from exposure.
Abstract: A license plate for Malaysian motorcycle, comprising a main body connected by two light-piercing boards together in a symmetric way, each with a full covering of 45.degree. prisms in more than one flight of stages on the back side; an opaque, white ground plate clamped therebetween; an opaque, blank vacant number plate connected to the main body front side respectively; a transparent waterproof hood enclosing them all, and a PC board which includes a plurality of small bulbs on it connected in a seat body for the main body. Upon energization of PC board, a license plate number in black-ground-white-letter style on either side of the license plate will be illuminated greatly and in even brightness.

Abstract: An auto license plate's illumination structure comprising a main cover transparent and engaged to license plate, a light source cover opaque and engaged to main cover's upper part and a few lighting installations to be hidden inside the light source cover. The main cover's inner wall is provided with a pattern of some decorative figures formed by many recessions in cross direction and parallelism. Of recession, the side wall which relatively close to light source is angled 45 degrees, and its remaining one at 90 or any other appropriate degrees. As passing main cover's inner wall, the lights of transmission from hidden light sources on one side will thus make an internal total reflection and shoot out from its outer wall, thereby illuminating license plate and, in particular, its decorative figures with the most brightness.

Abstract: A vehicle illumination device for a license plate that includes a frame enclosing a clear plastic wedge which serves as a light pipe for a light source placed along one edge of the clear plastic wedge. Upon energizing the light source, the light pipe provides an evenly distributed lighting of the vehicle plate while requiring less mounting depth than required by conventional lens lighting devices.
Abstract: A lamp assembly which utilizes a plurality of concave reflector elements to direct light to prescribed areas of an associated panel, such as a license plate.
Abstract: A luggage carrier for attachment to the rear side of a vehicle and including an external bottom frame having channel means for pivotally supporting the carrier on a receiver post projecting rearwardly at about the level of the vehicle bumper. The luggage carrier further includes an internal frame having a bottom subframe portion, a pair of lateral subframes and a forward, vertically extending subframe. A rigid panel is secured to the forward vertically extending subframe. An arcuate closure subassembly is pivotally connected to the upper side of the forward subframe, and is pivotable to a position covering the opening at the top of the luggage carrier. The internal frame is covered by a flexible fabric sleeve or encasement, and vinyl pads are interposed between the fabric encasement and the frame to smooth the flexible fabric of the encasement.
Abstract: A motorcycle is provided with a rear license plate assembly and lamp separate from a tail light, to facilitate placement of the license plate at a more readily viewable position.
Abstract: An automobile light cluster, particularly a rear light cluster, formed from a central unit and two side units, where the central unit (12) comprises a base (16) having a structure in the form of cells aligned along a substantially horizontal axis (22), with at least one central cell (18) arranged to house at least one number plate light, and with at least one pair of flanking cells (19 and 20) forming the reversing and rear fog lights. Abstract: A license plate assembly on a motorcycle includes a stay by which a license plate is erected from a rear cover over a rear wheel behind a seat, and an illumination device embedded in the rear cover below and behind the license plate for upwardly emitting a light beam to illuminate the license plate.
Abstract: An illuminated display assembly comprising a display plate having an illumination source connected thereto wherein a supporting frame and/or shield structure is opaque but includes non-opaque portions defining predetermined words, letters or like indicia. The illumination source may be selectively actuated to illuminate the display plate causing light to be transmitted or directed through the non-opaque portions of the shield structure thereby providing an illuminated display of the non-opaque formed indicia.
Abstract: An automotive decorative display panel is devised to provide a reflective black insignia on a bright field during daylight conditions and illuminated insignia on a dark field during night-time conditions. The illuminated display panel is comprised of a lens panel having a reflective, opaque field and a translucent insignia field. A screen is disposed behind the insignia field. The screen is characterized by being partially reflective and partially transmissive. During the day, light is reflected from the screen through the insignia portion to form a black insignia field against the bright reflective field. During the night the screen is back lit to form a bright insignia field against a relatively dark background. A solid state electroluminescent panel is used as the light source in a hermetically sealed package.
