Basket-carried Indicia Patents (Class 40/308)
  • Patent number: 4376502
Abstract: An unbreakable basket detachably coupled to a nestable shopping cart, has vertical and horizontal plastic ribs, certain ones protecting a detachably mounted sign on the forward face. The open end of the basket has a continuous rolled rim which enhances structural ridigity of the basket and protects the shopping cart and the sign. The upper end of the basket is mounted to the shopping cart by S-hooks. Recesses in the basket prevent the S-hooks swinging and facilitate assembly and disassembly.Retainer receiving members arranged along the rearward end snap fittingly receive a plastic retainer securing the basket to the cart and preventing the basket from swinging. The vertical ribs and rolled bumper rim removably receive and support the sign. The basket is tapered to permit nesting during shipment or storage. Advertising material and/or messages are printed on both sides. An angle member along the bottom of the basket behind the sign urges goods away from the sign.

  • Patent number: 4024660
Abstract: A weather-proof and inexpensive advertising pocket for attachment to a shopping cart in a manner permitting direct viewing by a user of the cart of printed matter insertable into the pocket. A continuous back is of generally rectangular configuration. A transparent window of approximately the same horizontal width as the back, but of less vertical height, is aligned in parallel planar relationship with the back such that the window spans most of the area of the back except along one horizontal edge of the back. A lip is of approximately the same horizontal width as the back and is of sufficient vertical height to span the area of the back not spanned by the window and to overlap a small portion of the window in a manner preventing precipitation from entering the pocket. An internal pocket area is provided by sealing the back, window and lip about the edges of the back.

  • Patent number: 4021953
Abstract: This invention is a shopping cart display guide selector for attachment to the handle of a shopping cart. The display guide selector has an outer cylinder clamped to the handle of the shopping cart. An inner cylinder is rotatably carried therein. A knob allows a shopper to turn the inner cylinder to any given position. On the inner cylinder is attached a sheet of paper containing information such as the store specials. A magnifying viewing window is contained in the outer cylinder so that a shopper may easily read information contained on the paper. By removal of a pin, the inner cylinder may be removed and the paper replaced to give other information.
