    Abstract: An apparatus for an indoor-outdoor decorative trash receptacle system that allows a user to decorate or personalize a trash receptacle 12 or the like with permanent or interchangeable graphic images 14 or insignia. The system decorates a receptacle 12 in various forms including applying a graphic image directly onto the receptacle, applying a covering to the receptacle, and inserting a placard into a sleeve affixed to the receptacle. The graphic image 14 can be applied directly to the external wall 20 of the trash receptacle 12 using free form, stencil tracing, stamping or other painting techniques. This technique can also be produced onto an adhesive 24 backed vinyl placard or like material and then adhered to the exterior of the trash receptacle 12. Another system of the present invention utilizes a clear protective sleeve 26 that is affixed to the exterior of the receptacle 12. A placard 28 with a graphic image 14 is inserted into the clear sleeve 26 providing an artistic impression on the receptacle 12.

    Abstract: An advertising display device usable for the collection and temporary retention of waste is defined by a hollow container having a movable front panel for accessing the interior. A frame in the interior provides for the emplacement of at least two trash bags to enable separable depositing of different sorts of waste thereinto to increase ease of recycling. At least one transparent layer mounted to the front panel cooperates therewith to define a pocket therebetween for removable emplacement of advertising media therewithin. The device is attachable to a post or other stanchion. In an alternate embodiment, the device is unitary in construction, a hinged top wall provides access to the interior, and multiple removable canisters in the interior enable separable depositing of different sorts of waste thereinto to increase ease of recycling. In the alternate embodiment, at least one divider may be used to separate the interior into multiple compartments.

    Abstract: A trash and waste material receptacle which includes outer side panels adapted for back-lit advertising and informational display. The receptacle includes an inner trash collection compartment designed to receive a disposable collection bag or a re-usable collection container. The trash collection compartment is spaced inwardly from the outer side panels of the receptacle thereby forming an annular space between the side panels and collection compartment for receiving lighting equipment for back-lighting the side panels. Electrical control equipment is provided within the trash receptacle below the trash collection compartment for controlling the lighting equipment. Electrical power for energizing the lighting equipment is provided from a source external to the receptacle or by one or more solar cell panels in replacement of one or more of the side advertising panels.
