    Abstract: Techniques for displaying messages on top of a vehicle are disclosed. Although useful in many other areas, the techniques are particularly suitable for taxicab. According to one aspect of these techniques, a display unit is mounted on top of a vehicle. The display unit includes at least two display panels facing outward respectively. The display unit is controlled by a computing device to display various messages. In one embodiment, the vehicle is provided a Global Positioning System (GPS) that determines a location of the vehicle. Coupled to the GPS, the computing device sends the location information of the vehicle to a base station and receives returned information from the base station in accordance with the location information. The returned information, at least some of which are location based, is locally processed for suitable messages on the display panels. In another aspect, illumination of the display messages varies by a light sensor in response to intensity of ambient lights.

The inclined flat face forms an angle between the inclined flat face and the vertical axis from about 30° to about 40°. The angle controls the movement of the body, thereby allowing the body to move up the antenna as the antenna moves, such as when attached to a car.

    Abstract: The luggage rack flag mount is a device designed for mounting accessories to the cross bar of luggage racks. This mounting mechanism consists of a smooth adjustable clamp that may be tightened on a crossbar by applying simple squeezing pressure on either end of the clamp. The clamp comprises hooks which are connected by a cross member. One of these hooks is inserted into a groove in the cross member and teeth on the surface of the groove and this hook interlock to hold them together. The present invention also consists of a mount attached to the upper surface of the clamp by a hinge. A flagpole may be secured to this mount and the wind resistance against the flag caused by the motion of the vehicle will cause the flag to rise. A block is secured to the clamp adjacent to the hinge so that the flagpole will remain upright when the vehicle is moving. When the vehicle stops moving the weight of the flag will cause the flagpole to fall to a resting position atop the clamp.

The mast is removably attached to a base which either has a permanent magnet embedded therein or has a layer of plastic with magnetic particles embedded therein adjacent to the bottom of the base for attachment to the metal roof of the automobile. In one embodiment a light at the distal end of the extended mast is a visual indicator at night and in another embodiment the light is in the base and the entire mast has illumination. A lanyard attached to the base or mast or both extending into the interior of the automobile between the door and door frame prevents theft and provides notice to the driver of the automobile to remove the visual car spotter from the roof.
