Abstract: A system for mounting a sign on a stanchion and a method of using the system for mounting signs are provided. The system includes a bracket that can be mounted onto the upper end of the stanchion and a sign frame that can be mounted onto the bracket. The sign frame supports the sign in an upright position. The bracket has a base with an open lower end that can be lowered down onto the upper end of the stanchion to mount the bracket. The bracket has a support member attached to the base for mounting the sign frame onto the bracket. The support member has a pair of opposing openings that extend through the support member. The sign frame has a pair of frame mounting rods that can be inserted downward through the openings to mount the sign frame onto the bracket.

Abstract: A method of increasing the stability of a corrugated display apparatus defining a plurality of lower openings and having a plurality of walls at least partially defining a plurality of channels, each with a channel width, spanning from one of the plurality of lower openings toward an upper end of the display apparatus, the method including providing a cutting device with a handle length and a blade member coupled along the handle length, cutting a portion of at least one of the plurality of walls with the blade member to combine two of the plurality of channels adjacent to the cut portion of the at least one of the plurality of walls to create an enlarged channel, and inserting a post-like member into the enlarged channel, the post-like member securely retained within the enlarged channel.

Abstract: A flexible display member displays variable attributes of a user when the user is outdoors, such as at the beach or camping. The flexible display member is coupled to elongate grounding members that each having a bottom end for inserting into the ground (for example, with a corkscrew shape). The mounting members guide the user to mount the display member at the appropriate height to remain standing in the outdoor environment, and may convert the display member into a flag in some applications.

Abstract: A tamper resistant apparatus for removable retention of a memorial marker such as those found at a grave site. The apparatus includes a locking mechanism housed within a cylinder. The cylinder has a cover intended for use exposed to the environment. The cylinder is attached to a footing plate that provides lateral stability during placement of the apparatus in the ground. Horizontal gripping within the ground is provided by a helical anchor attached to the footing plate. The locking mechanism includes a latch which may be moved into and out of a notch in the post of the memorial marker to respectively retain and release the marker from the apparatus.

Abstract: The disclosure provides apparatus and methods of use pertaining to the display of yard or lawn signage. One embodiment provides a two-part system for displaying signage. The system includes a flexible sign panel having installation tabs and a rigid, injection-molded stake having holding portions configured to receive and retain the installation tabs of the sign panel. The rigid stake also includes retention barbs to facilitate ground stability and a strike pad designed to absorb and distribute impact forces applied during stake installation. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

Abstract: A rubber or leather sleeve conforms to the signpost of a small yard sign, and prevents it from damaging or soiling a vehicle interior. In addition, a scraping tool is stored in a pocket on the interior or exterior of the sleeve and retained there by a fastener, for example a grommet. The scraping tool is used to remove excess debris, such as dirt, snow, and mud from the sign before placing it inside the sleeve for transport.

Abstract: A three-sided channel coupler for connecting the upper and lower portions of a U-shaped sign post, the coupler comprising two U-shaped elements, an outer three-sided, U-shaped element and an inner, three-sided U-shaped element, the three sides of each element comprising a transverse face and two lateral legs, the inner element being smaller than the outer element, a plurality of cross-braces attached to the two lateral legs of each element to hold the two elements together and a plurality of vertical ribs on the inner surface of the outer element and on the outer surface of the inner element.

Abstract: A multi-purpose reversible target includes a target body having a first side and a second side, a plurality of target areas printed on the first side of the target body, and a plurality of tabs integral with the target body and on the second side of the target body. A stand includes an elongated body having a top end and an opposite bottom end, the bottom end configured for insertion into ground and at least one holder comprising a first loop and a second operatively connected to the first loop to thereby allow for friction fit of an edge of signage between the first loop and the second loop.

Abstract: A marker for marking a ground surface is disclosed, and includes a shaft having a bottom end and a top end. The shaft includes an insertion portion for insertion into the ground. The insertion portion is located at the bottom end of the shaft. The shaft includes a mast portion for extending above the ground surface when the insertion portion is at least partially inserted into the ground. The shaft includes an engagement portion located between the insertion portion and the mast portion with the insertion portion being located between the engagement portion and the bottom end. The engagement portion is configured to be engaged and pushed to cause insertion of the shaft into the ground.

Abstract: A kit for suspending a sign is disclosed herein. The kit includes first and second column anchors operable to be mounted in the ground. Each column anchor has a plurality of fins facing in different directions from one another and a conical tip. The kit also includes first and second columns individually receivable in one of the first and second column anchors and selectively removable. Each of the columns has a plurality of through-apertures. The kit also includes a plurality of sets of eye-bolts and nuts, each individually receivable in one of the plurality of through-apertures. The kit also includes a plurality of cable members having latches or S-hooks at both ends and a stretchable member extending between the latches or S-hooks.

Abstract: A preferably weather resistant multi-section upright stanchion assembly for a construction site document storage apparatus, a real estate display sign and the like. The stanchion assembly includes a plurality of elongated substantially similar stanchion sections and a ground-engaging tip. Each stanchion section includes an elongated body having a hollow first end thereof and a second end thereof sized for slidable, releasable, lockable engagement into said first end of the next adjacent stanchion section to facilitate ease of height adjustment of the stanchion assembly. The stanchion assembly releasably connects at one end into a mating support cavity formed between the front and back panels of the inner frame of the storage apparatus. A single or two spaced upright stanchion assemblies support two horizontal spaced display panel support arms which, in turn, support a preferably multi-panel display sign.

Abstract: A display sign apparatus includes a sign panel having opposed surfaces, each of the surfaces providing a locale for displaying a selected message to viewers. The panel preferably is in the form of a first and second panel section that are connected together such as adhered with an adhesive such as glue. Each of the first and second panel sections provides grooves that are receptive of rods. A support structure enables the panel to be supported in an upright position. The support structure can include as an example a horizontal member and a vertical member. The support structure can for example be an inverted L shaped post having a vertical section that is embedded in the earth and a horizontal section that extends laterally and generally horizontally from the vertical section. One or more rods extends through grooves of the panels to support the sign panel in an upright, vertical position. At least one of the rods extends vertically through the panel section that provides horizontal grooves.

Abstract: An information display system provides an effective device for the storage and display of information. An H-shaped frame provides easy installation and ease of manufacture. An information storage unit is attached to the H-shaped frame and provides a sealed unit that is easy to access but that protects the contents from exposure to the elements.

Abstract: A breakaway sign support system that is useful for supporting ground mounted signs located within zones that are vulnerable to vehicular impacts. A bracket assembly containing a combination of mounting plates and reinforcement plates bolted together is used to attach a sign post to a sign stub. The sign support system can be fabricated in the field without having to send measurements to a fabricator. The bracket assembly keeps the sign post stable but also allows for a clean break away upon impact.

Abstract: A device for marking a location. The device coming in two separate pieces, namely a ground stake and a marking post. The ground stake configured for insertion into a ground surface. The marking post configured for attachment to the ground stake. The post is preferably removable from the stake so that when livestock are present, if they uproot or displace the marking post portion of the device, the ground stake remains in the ground still marking the location. If a survey crew or other individual is at the marking location after the post has been removed, they can replace the post (or insert a replacement post) to return the device to its full functionality.

Abstract: A post assembly having a first post member, a second post member positioned within the first post member, and a sleeve member installed in the ground. The first and second post members are insertable into the sleeve member and the second post member is rotatable relative to the first post member and the sleeve member to inhibit separation of the first post member and the second post member from the ground sleeve. The first post member includes a first passage, the second post member includes a second passage having a first section and a second section, and the sleeve member includes a latch pin that travels along the first and second passages. When the latch pin is in a particular position within the first and second passages, removal of the first post member and the second post member from the sleeve member is inhibited.

Abstract: A speaker assembly for a structural pole is provided, as well as a method for attaching a speaker assembly to a structural pole. The speaker assembly is provided with an elongated housing mounted to banner brackets that are fixed to the structural pole. The housing is sized to provide an aesthetic appearance that corresponds to a banner attached to the banner brackets. A speaker, or a plurality of speakers are provided within the housing for transmitting acoustic vibrations to a corresponding environment.

Abstract: A compact yard sign package reinforced by a folded bail includes a sign member formed by a rectangular sheet folded at a fold line to form a sign member including pair of sign panels, side edge regions of the sign panels being joined to form a bail receiving pocket between the sign panels. A hand bendable wire bail is formed by a straight bridge section with legs extending from ends of the bridge at right angles. Outer sections of the legs are bent at right angles to inner sections of the legs to form a folded bail. The folded bail is positioned in the pocket of the sign member to reinforce the sign member during shipping. An end use removes the bail from the pocket and straightens the legs out prior to inserting ends of the legs into the ground to set up the sign assembly.

Abstract: A kit for suspending a sign is disclosed herein. The kit includes first and second column anchors operable to be permanently mounted in the ground or concrete. The kit also includes first and second columns individually receivable in one of the respective first and second column anchors. The first and second columns can be selectively removed when it is no longer desired to suspend a sign. Each of the first and second columns has a plurality of through-apertures. The kit also includes a plurality of bushings. An individual bushing is received in one of the through-apertures. The kit also includes a quantity of rope extending through the plurality of bushings when the kit is assembled. The kit also includes at least one rope tensioning member operable to engage both of the first and second ends of the rope for holding the rope taut.

Abstract: A single pass process and apparatus for manufacturing a folded yard sign from a pre-cut sheet previously coated on both sides with a fusible polymer includes the steps of printing an image on an outside of the sheet, curing the image, scoring the printed sheet, folding the scored sheet, ultrasonically sealing regions along side edges of the folded sheet, and stacking the sealed sheets, which are finished sign products ready for packaging. The ultrasonic sealing fuses the polymer coated inside surfaces along the edges of the folded sheet. The sealed side edges form a sign support receiving pocket in the finished sign member in cooperation with a folded edge of the sign member.

Abstract: An apparatus for impact insertion in and extraction from the ground includes a core with an upper section adapted for mounting a device, such as a sign, and a lower section with a pointed lower end. A reduced-diameter guide shaft extends between the upper and lower sections. An impact sleeve assembly includes a hollow tube and impact collar fixedly mounted therein. The core is reciprocally received in the sleeve with the impact collar adapted for sliding on the guide shaft between the core upper and lower sections for impacting same on extraction and insertion strokes respectively.

Abstract: A back sign for roads has a mount affixed to the ground that is adjacent to a road. A back sign device is affixed to the mount. The mount has a front face that is visible to oncoming traffic. The back sign device is located on a rear face visible to traffic that has passed the back sign. Whereby a driver can see the back sign device in a mirror mounted upon their vehicle after passing the back sign device and the back sign provides information to the driver.

Abstract: A weatherproof gravesite picture frame assembly displays photographs, letters, cards, and other flat memorabilia at a gravesite. The assembly has a planar frame, an elongated stake, and an elastomeric collar. The outer tubular post is configured to mate with the inner post portion to substantially extend within the post bore of the outer tubular post. The horizontal post member includes a horizontal post portion and a post coupling portion. Abstract: A holder for memorial material includes a display panel with a front and rear surface, and an upper ledge attached to the display panel. The display panel has between the front surface and the rear surface a material space for the memorial material. One can insert the memorial material into the internal material space inside the display panel. The upper ledge is adapted to receive downward pressure of a magnitude sufficient to drive the display panel at least partially underground. The display panel also has right and left converging edges to facilitate the at least partial underground burial.

A method of onsite advertising and promotion of property available for sale comprising the steps of: providing an illuminated sign having a opaque or translucent face, a solar cell to generate power, a battery to store power, a lamp bulb, and a photo cell to turn power on to the lamp bulb in low ambient light; positioning the sign in a prominent location so that it can be viewed by passers by; and, removing the sign subsequent to sale of the property.

Abstract: Sign holders are provided for displaying sign inserts. The sign holders are capable of being reused, whereby several different signs can be removably affixed to the sign holders for displaying signs at multiple events. The door has a vertical front plate which receives the sheet and holds it behind a transparent cover panel which is pressed against surrounding flanges at the front of the receptacle by a plurality of elongate spacer members arranged around the front surface of the door.

Abstract: Apparatus for shielding the hazardous pointed bottom or damaged top ends of leg members that depend from an article, such as a yard sign, comprising, a plurality of open-ended receptacles, each having a sidewall with a peripheral rim and being interconnected by a flexible cord of variable length that is trained over a portion of the article to provide restraining force to maintain the receptacles in position covering one or more ends of the legs. A method of attaching the apparatus is also disclosed.
