    Abstract: An improved display sign of the type in which interchangeable indicia can be mounted on both sides, and comprising a plurality of aluminum slats surrounded by an extruded aluminum frame. Each longitudinal edge of each slat is provided with a longitudinally extending hook to interlock with a similar hook on the next slat or, in the case of the top and bottom slats, with a projection integrally formed in a recess in the frame member. The slats are locked into the top and bottom frame members by means of a removable rod extending longitudinally thereof in a complementary shaped channel in the recess in the frame member.

    Abstract: A filigreed effect name plate is formed on a belt or other leather product. The belt comprises an outer layer attached to one or more other layers. The name plate area is removed from the outer layer prior to attachment to the other layer or layers leaving an opening formed through the outer layer for receiving precut letters, symbols, or other indicia. The precut indicia are inserted in the opening and their back sides bonded to the layer exposed through the opening. In addition, the top and bottom edges of the indicia are bonded to the top and bottom edges of the opening respectively.

    Abstract: A sign for carrying changeable inserts having a metal base plate of resilient material on which are formed a plurality of clips providing gripping engagement of an insert of sheet material to carry said insert removable upon a surface of the base plate. The clips each have a tab integral with the base plate. The tabs each extend above the surface and open onto said surface. Each tab resiliently bears against marginal portions of the insert sheet material for gripping engagement thereof. Said tabs are joined to the base plate by a zone of merger having compound curvature for nonlinear distribution of bending forces upon bending of said tab. Dimples upon opposite sides of each clip coact with the tab for providing more secure engagement of the insert.

    Abstract: A sign structure having a copy board which is movable across the face of the structure and which releasably mounts display symbols such as numeric and alphabetic charactrers. The copy board comprises a frame which is mounted to the sign structure via rollers and may be positioned at will along the length of the sign structure adjacent to, overlapping, or removed from a vignette, etc., displayed on the sign face. Retainer bars extend between opposite sides of the copy board frame and are adapted for releasably mounting symbols by engaging slots formed in the symbols. Great flexibility is provided in positioning the symbols, for the copy board frame can be positioned at will along the sign, the retainer bars can be positioned substantially anywhere along the copy board frame in the direction perpendicular to their length, and the symbols can be positioned at will along the length of the retainer bars.
