Abstract: An improved display sign of the type in which interchangeable indicia can be mounted on both sides, and comprising a plurality of aluminum slats surrounded by an extruded aluminum frame. Each longitudinal edge of each slat is provided with a longitudinally extending hook to interlock with a similar hook on the next slat or, in the case of the top and bottom slats, with a projection integrally formed in a recess in the frame member. The slats are locked into the top and bottom frame members by means of a removable rod extending longitudinally thereof in a complementary shaped channel in the recess in the frame member.

Abstract: A filigreed effect name plate is formed on a belt or other leather product. The belt comprises an outer layer attached to one or more other layers. The name plate area is removed from the outer layer prior to attachment to the other layer or layers leaving an opening formed through the outer layer for receiving precut letters, symbols, or other indicia. The precut indicia are inserted in the opening and their back sides bonded to the layer exposed through the opening. In addition, the top and bottom edges of the indicia are bonded to the top and bottom edges of the opening respectively.

Abstract: A device for fastening an object to a flat support member is disclosed. The device includes an adhesive coating of at least 0.35 mm which is applied to the support member or the object. The coating may be provided on a table plate, a sideboard or tray as a support. The coating may be applied to a foil element which may be used in different ways in providing a releasably attachable arrangement.

Abstract: A sign for carrying changeable inserts having a metal base plate of resilient material on which are formed a plurality of clips providing gripping engagement of an insert of sheet material to carry said insert removable upon a surface of the base plate. The clips each have a tab integral with the base plate. The tabs each extend above the surface and open onto said surface. Each tab resiliently bears against marginal portions of the insert sheet material for gripping engagement thereof. Said tabs are joined to the base plate by a zone of merger having compound curvature for nonlinear distribution of bending forces upon bending of said tab. Dimples upon opposite sides of each clip coact with the tab for providing more secure engagement of the insert.

Abstract: A display device having track members on two sides of a single backing member for securely gripping and holding differently sized posters, signs and advertising materials is disclosed. The track members comprise elongated extrusions having one or more flange members thereon which mate with corresponding projections or rib means on the backing member of the display device. The advertising materials are inserted on the display device so that at least one edge thereof is positioned between a flange member and one or more projections. The panels are held securely in place by tension. A plurality of frame-like members are preferably positioned on the exterior edges of the backing panel.

Abstract: Presentation and display panel for miscellaneous informations of the type comprising a plate covered by a matrix carrying information disposed parallel to slots made in the matrix and serving for the passage of gripping members carried by identification elements displaceable between the plate and the matrix, wherein the panel has on its face covered by the matrix a given aspect or appearance, the matrix is transparent and has at least one partly flexible segment separated from matrix by at least one slot and held on the matrix by an attachment support, the matrix carries on flexible segment information with the same appearance as the face of the panel and the identification elements have a contrasting appearance compared with that of the face and the information.Display panels for displaying the results of games, forecasts and competitions, also usable as a didactic or calendar panel.

Abstract: A mobile educational toy which simulates a train has a plurality of toy units which are coupled together to form a train. The toy units each include a mobile carriage structure and a graphic block. The graphic blocks are shaped in the form of an alphabet letter, number, or other symbol. By arranging the toy units in a specified order, words or other relationships can be formed by the user. In addition, by virtue of the coupling together of the toy units, a toy simulating a train is formed.

Abstract: An overlay device, which is adapted for use with an illuminated transparency viewer, for holding slides and the like includes a series of spaced apart elongate members, frame members transverse to the elongate members to maintain the elongate members in fixed position, and resilient material carried by at least one of the elongate members such that a slide may be inserted between two successive elongate members by depressing said resilient material to insert one edge of the slide therein with the opposite edge being urged against the opposite elongate member to hold the slide in position. The elongate members have channels into which the slides may be inserted, the resilient material being disposed in at least one of the channels.

Abstract: An indicating device such as is used to display automobile service station price data and such as is used as a score board for athletic events includes a suitable mounted base plate (1) (50) in which a plurality of slots (2-9) (51-56) are formed for receiving respectively a plurality of semirigid ribs (35-38) (35a-38a) having rib mounting grooves (42,43) whereby the ribs are slidable longitudinally into the slots, each rib being provided with tape positioning grooves (44,45) for slidably receiving the edge portions of self coiling tapes (29-34) (66-70) on which displayed indicia is applied and the tapes being manually adjustable so as to accommodate changes in the displayed data.

Abstract: A vehicle is personalized or individualized by a display that may contain e.g. the owner's name, in a manner fully integral with the style and appearance of the vehicle itself. The display is preferably in the form of characters or other indicia affixed to a base member supported in a frame carried on the body surface of the vehicle to set off the area within it. The base member is formed to provide continuity in the contour and appearance of the body surrounding the frame, be it the grill network, the continuous metal body surface or some other body portion, and preferably forms an adequately planar surface so as to facilitate attachment of the characters thereto.

Abstract: A universal patentee's ring, pin, emblem or similar device comprises the combination of a body having means for attachment thereof to a finger, article of clothing or the like, indicia formed on or attached to the body indicating that the wearer or owner is an inventor-patentee, and a legend formed on or carried by the body specifying additional information concerning the indicia and/or comprising additional adornment for the device, the legend in one form of the invention being carried by an interchangeable element enabling the legend to be changed when the wearer's or owner's inventor-patentee status changes, an element for the finger ring embodiment of the invention being available in varying dimension so as to adapt the ring to the size of the finger.

Abstract: Constructions are provided in molded indicia such as letters and numbers which may be easily assembled together to form words and other formations. Individual moldings in the shape of alphabetical and/or numerical characters are each provided with a plurality of through openings extending in either the horizontal or vertical directions permitting the moldings to be assembled against a rod, wire or elongated flexible member or members to form assemblies representative of words or other intelligence.In a preferred form, each molding is composed of two half parts or formations which, when properly assembled, represent a particular alphabetical or numerical character. The formations frictionally or otherwise assembled together to form the character are each shaped with a rim which either snap assembles over a rod, tube, strip or string or contains indented portions along the rim which compressibly engage said rod, strip, tube or string to retain the molding against that portion thereof which it engages.

Abstract: A sign letter structure for use in an illuminated sign and a composite extruded thermoplastic strip conforming to the periphery of a generally flat letter-form making up the sign, the extruded strip having parallel longitudinally extending spaced opaque sections with a transparent thermoplastic section therebetween, the perimetrical edging of the strip extending inwardly of the frame with the front surface of the edge in contact with the front surface of the letter-form, the transparent section having a convex outer surface and a ridged inner surface for picking up light rays and for diffusing such light rays after they have passed through the transparent section.

The track members comprise elongated extrusions having one or more flange members thereon which mate with corresponding elongated ribs on the backing member of the display holder. The advertising materials are inserted on the display holder so that at least one edge thereof is positioned between a flange member and a rib. The panels are held securely in place by tension. A plurality of frame-like members are preferably positioned on the exterior edges of the backing panel.

Abstract: A sign structure having a copy board which is movable across the face of the structure and which releasably mounts display symbols such as numeric and alphabetic charactrers. The copy board comprises a frame which is mounted to the sign structure via rollers and may be positioned at will along the length of the sign structure adjacent to, overlapping, or removed from a vignette, etc., displayed on the sign face. Retainer bars extend between opposite sides of the copy board frame and are adapted for releasably mounting symbols by engaging slots formed in the symbols. Great flexibility is provided in positioning the symbols, for the copy board frame can be positioned at will along the sign, the retainer bars can be positioned substantially anywhere along the copy board frame in the direction perpendicular to their length, and the symbols can be positioned at will along the length of the retainer bars.

Abstract: A letter and number kit for use in preparing signs or names and addresses including street numbers. The kit consists of a packet of thin metal plates, each having upper and lower longitudinally and transversely extending score lines to provide segments having a blank on one or both faces or a letter, number, or punctuation mark on one or both faces of each segment. The number of letters in the kit may be varied. Primary letters of the alphabet which are used more frequently than other letters are present in the kit in a greater number than secondary letters which in turn are present in the kit in a greater number than tertiary letters. For instance, in comparatively large kits from approximately eight to eleven of each of the primary letters, from six to seven of each of the secondary letters and from approximately two to five of each of the tertiary letters may be present.
