Patent number: 6357879Abstract: A slide mount has a first portion and a second portion. The first portion includes an interior region, an edge, and a slot extending from the interior region to the edge. A cavity is formed between the first portion and the second portion, and extends to the first edge. A film segment is disposed in the cavity. The slide mount disengageably locks in the film segment. The film segment can be released from the slide mount using an extractor arm. The slide mount can have a locking aperture for receiving a locking piston to disengage a protruding element from the film segment so as to permit extraction of the film segment from the cavity of the slide mount.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 1999Date of Patent: March 19, 2002Assignee: Eastman Kodak CompanyInventors: Daniel M. Patent number: 6154968Abstract: A compact viewing frame is described for use by artists to change the size and shape of viewed subject area. The viewing frame includes an opaque frame having a central opening, and an opaque panel which is slidable within the frame to change the size and shape of the opening in the frame. By moving the panel inwardly and outwardly relative to the frame, the artist can easily determine the most desirable composition of the subject to be painted, sketched, etc. It can also be used by photographers or cinematographers.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 1999Date of Patent: December 5, 2000Inventor: Patti Andre

Patent number: 6065235Abstract: A one-piece or two-piece slide mount, having a window and an inner receiving chamber for the slide film which can be introduced into the mount from a narrow side thereof, and at least two guide ribs running in the direction of insertion, located outside the window on two sides in the transverse direction to the direction of insertion and non-slidably fixing this film transverse to the direction of insertion and on the plane of the inserted slide film. These guide ribs form an insertion aid. Over a longer initial guide portion (7) starting from the insertion entrance in the transverse direction to the direction of insertion (E), the two guide ribs (5, 6) as an insertion aid have a much greater distance between them than the width of the slide film and with an inclined transition portion (8) in the direction of insertion (E) merge into a fixing portion (9). Such fixing portions (9) are spaced apart in the same transverse direction corresponding to the width of the slide film.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 1998Date of Patent: May 23, 2000Assignee: L+N Plast-Vertriebs GmbHInventor: Arnold Neuhold

Patent number: 5928758Abstract: A card blank for identification cards and the like that include a microfilm with predetermined information to be read by a common utensil such as a magnifying glass or a microscope. The card includes two sheets that joined together at predetermined areas and include each a window with similar dimensions and in alignment. The microfilm is positioned between the two sheets exposing most of its area with information. The edges of the microfilm are sandwiched by the two sheets defining a peripheral wall around the windows. One of the embodiments contemplates the use of a slot in one of the sheets with a peripheral pocket surrounding the windows. This allows the ready insertion of the microfilm. Another embodiment includes a flexible second sheet that folds back permitting a user to bring one straight edge of the microfilm in abutting contact with an interface line thereby readily positioning the microfilm so that a substantial portion of its information is exposed.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 1998Date of Patent: July 27, 1999Inventor: Rafael R.
