Patent number: 8726566Abstract: A seed label which can be removably affixed to a package includes a label layer removably attached to a clear film layer by an adhesive layer, and at least one seed disposed between the label layer and the clear film layer. The label layer may be made of biodegradable material and may include water-based ink printing thereon. The adhesive layer may be a dry release-clean release adhesive layer can be formed of a water-based adhesive. The seed label can be placed in a container for germinating the seeds. A method of manufacturing a seed label includes providing a label layer, automatically placing at least one seed on one side of the label layer, and automatically attaching the label layer to a clear film layer by an adhesive layer, with the seed disposed between the label layer and the clear film layer.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2010Date of Patent: May 20, 2014Assignee: Raypress CorporationInventors: Thomas D. Patent number: 5322376Abstract: A recording apparatus has a memory for storing information entered from a key input device, whereby the stored information can be used to rapidly and precisely position erasing means at a previously recorded indicium for erasure thereof. The apparatus may also have at least one drive system which controls the printing pressure, the amount of printing ribbon feeding, or the amount of printing sheet feeding, and a memory for storing information to regulate the drive systems. One embodiment of the apparatus is an electronic typewriter.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 1990Date of Patent: June 21, 1994Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishiInventors: Hiroyuki Ueda, Yasuaki Yamada, Toshiaki Ozawa, Hiroharu Nakajima, Hiroatsu Kondo

Patent number: 4552474Abstract: A backspace device in a typewriter comprising: an interposer operable by the operation of a key lever; a cycle bail operable by the interposer; a cycle clutch for intermittently transmitting a driving force from a driving source to a main shaft so that the main shaft can be rotated by a predetermined number of times in association with the cycle bail; an actuating bail for performing a cycle of a motion along a moving path of a predetermined mode by a full turn of the main shaft, while rendering to the interposer a motion in a direction of the interposer leaving the cycle bail during the motion; a backspace link for moving in association with the interposer during the leaving motion of the interposer; a backspace rack extending laterally of the typewriter, supported rotatably about an axis laterally disposed and turned to a working position by the backspace link; and a backspace pawl fastened onto a carriage so that it can be reciprocated a predetermined distance in the lateral direction by a cam rotatable inType: GrantFiled: November 9, 1983Date of Patent: November 12, 1985Assignee: Tokyo Juki Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Giancarlo Horeschi, Gian P. Patent number: 4286889Abstract: An error correcting typewriter wherein a backspace correction key is operative to read an incorrect character from memory, to in turn reversely move a stepper motor controlled carriage twice the width of a character in error and then forwardly the width of the character in error and then to effect overstrike printing of the character in error.Type: GrantFiled: July 5, 1979Date of Patent: September 1, 1981Assignee: Triumph Werke Nurnberg A.G.Inventors: Hermann Ebert, Gunter Bachmann

Patent number: 4285605Abstract: A mechanism which will function to allow the escapement of the carriage of a typewriter in one of two predetermined escapement pitches and be capable of backspace operation from a single backspace input for both pitches regardless of which escapement pitch is selected. Escapement ratchets for the two selected pitches are combined, together with a backspace ratchet. Each of the escapement ratchets are engageable by an escapement pawl and the engagement of a pawl with a particular ratchet will determine the pitch within which the escapement system will function. A backspace ratchet is combined with the escapement ratchets and fixedly attached thereto to provide the backspace drive. The backspace ratchet is selectably engageable by the backspace pawl for causing rotation in the opposite direction of that normally utilized for escapement.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 1979Date of Patent: August 25, 1981Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Edward R. Lloyd, Raymond M. Marowski

Patent number: 4273455Abstract: A mechanism which provides bi-directional movement of the carrier of an electric typewriter incorporating proportional spacing. A ratchet arrangement is operable in both directions to provide the desired proportional spacing increments, with rotation of a ratchet wheel in the clockwise direction being controlled by engagement of an associated pawl with one of a plurality of stop engaging surfaces of a control member which sets the number of proportional spacing increments desired.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 1978Date of Patent: June 16, 1981Assignee: Realty and Industrial CorporationInventors: W. Patent number: 4252452Abstract: An Arabic language or other right to left writing typewriter having mechanism normally effecting letter feeding movement from right to left in response to type actions is provided with additional mechanism selectively operatively positionable to effect power operated left to right letter feeding movement in response to type actions.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 1979Date of Patent: February 24, 1981Assignee: Triumph-Werke Nuremberg A.G.Inventor: Herbert Decker

Patent number: 4245918Abstract: An electronic typewriter which has the capability of erasing characters automatically and which has the further improved capability of being able to back through unused space on the line, which results after a tabulation command, thereby allowing the repositioning of the type element over the characters typed prior to the tab command thereby allowing automatic erasure of those characters. The improvement of the typewriter as described permits the retrieving of characters from an electronic memory and the use of that memory to control the erase cycle even where the carrier position and the character to be erased are on opposite sides of space without printed characters due to a tab command. This is accomplished by the electronic control of the mechanical hardware and the ability to determine where the tab command was entered on the typing line and to prevent erasure cycles in the unprinted space until the carrier has returned to the point at which the tabulation command was entered.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 1978Date of Patent: January 20, 1981Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: David J. Patent number: 4108557Abstract: An error correction system for a typewriter in which a silent type action with a blank type face is operatively connected and synchronized to initiate a backspace action and elevate and feed an error correction ribbon in advance of the striking of the blank type face against the space wherein an error was printed. Thus, to obliterate an error and type in a correct character, an operator need only perform two operations; depress the error key and the correct character key. Further, in accordance with the invention, the error key may be further depressed to a repeat position whereby a series of characters may be obliterated automatically.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 1977Date of Patent: August 22, 1978Assignee: Triumph Werke Nurnberg A.G.Inventors: Jurgen Skrzipek, Helge Reuter
