Abstract: A label producing apparatus has a pressure roller drive shaft for feeding a cover film supplied from a cartridge storing a cover film capable of supply, acquires the arrangement information by accessing a database storing and holding arrangement information of the article to be arranged, and has a print head and a cutter for producing an auxiliary label by forming the acquired arrangement information for the cover film fed by the pressure roller drive shaft.

Abstract: An erasing ribbon is guided by the same vibrator as the typing ribbon behind the lower part of the typing ribbon. An erasing key acts on the back-spacing mechanism of the typewriter and on an element which suppresses the carriage escapement during a correction cycle initiated by any one of the typing keys. The necessary settings are made by a slide which stores the erasing key command. In particular, the slide acts on a lever which varies the stroke of the ribbon vibrator for selecting the erasing ribbon, also on a device which causes the erasing ribbon to advance and on a mechanism which inhibits the escapement during the execution of the correction cycle. The setting slide is then returned to rest by the first typing key operated after the erasing cycle. A correction selection lever acts on the lever which varies the stroke of the ribbon vibrator and selects permanently the erasing ribbon independently of the erasing key for a forward erasing of the characters of one or more words.

Abstract: A mechanism which will function to allow the escapement of the carriage of a typewriter in one of two predetermined escapement pitches and be capable of backspace operation from a single backspace input for both pitches regardless of which escapement pitch is selected. Escapement ratchets for the two selected pitches are combined, together with a backspace ratchet. Each of the escapement ratchets are engageable by an escapement pawl and the engagement of a pawl with a particular ratchet will determine the pitch within which the escapement system will function. A backspace ratchet is combined with the escapement ratchets and fixedly attached thereto to provide the backspace drive. The backspace ratchet is selectably engageable by the backspace pawl for causing rotation in the opposite direction of that normally utilized for escapement.

Abstract: A mechanism which provides bi-directional movement of the carrier of an electric typewriter incorporating proportional spacing. A ratchet arrangement is operable in both directions to provide the desired proportional spacing increments, with rotation of a ratchet wheel in the clockwise direction being controlled by engagement of an associated pawl with one of a plurality of stop engaging surfaces of a control member which sets the number of proportional spacing increments desired.
