With Clamp For Holding One Record-medium Stationary Patents (Class 400/608)
  • Patent number: 6491462
Abstract: A printer for printing on a first medium in the form of a continuous band or on a second medium in the form of a sheet, in a print zone of the printer, is provided. The printer comprising a movable cover giving access to the print zone for loading said second media, a hold down system for holding said second media in position before and during printing, a first sensor to detect opening of the cover linked to said hold down system, storage means for storing said first medium, a feeder for moving said first medium from the storage means to the print zone, wherein when the cover is opened by a user of the printer the sensor activates the hold down system to accept said second medium without any further action by said user. The printer may have a second sensor for activating the feeder to withdraw the first medium from a ready to print position to a standby position while simultaneously moving the second medium through the print zone.

  • Patent number: 6161973
Abstract: A first position control member, which presses a recording sheet between a sheet conveyance roller 28c and an image forming area, is disposed and a second position control member, which presses the recording sheet between the image forming area and a spur 42, is disposed. Thus, of the recording sheet in the course of conveyance, a portion located at the image forming area is pressed and stretched by the first position control member 34 and the second position control member 38, and an interval between this portion and an ink ejection surface is maintained at a predetermined distance. Accordingly, even if ink ejected from the ink ejection outlets is absorbed into the recording sheet, so that a fiber of the recording sheet expands, no unevenness is formed on the recording sheet. Therefore, it is possible to suppress the cocking.

  • Patent number: 5110025
Abstract: A cover is disclosed for a paper feed tractor having first and second side frames, a paper receiving plate extending perpendicularly from the second side frame and having a hole formed therein, and a paper exhaustion detector mounted to the second side frame. The paper exhaust detector of the paper feed tractor includes a microswitch with an upwardly biased plunger, and an actuator pressed upwardly by the plunger and pivotable between a first position in which it detects the presence of paper and a second position in which it detects the absence of paper. The cover of the present invention includes a plate, and elongated ribs projecting downwardly from the bottom surface of the plate on opposing sides of an elongated slot formed through the plate.

  • Patent number: 5037016
Abstract: An apparatus of the type for the supply of webs to a processing station is described, in which by means of a controllable drive mechanism, each of several webs is advanced to the processing station in superimposed guide channels. The front portion of the web, following processing, is cut from the web and the front end of the web, following separation, is retracted out of the processing station. For this purpose, the controllable drive mechanism can be selectively engaged with one web in the vicinity of the guide channel of the web for the complete forward and return transport of the web before and after a processing operation. The drive mechanism preferably has reversibly drivable rollers. For producing an engagement between a web and a drive roller the guide channels are preferably pivotable with respect to the rollers. The processing station is generally a printing means, in which, for example tickets of differing color are to be printed.

  • Patent number: 4768893
Abstract: A device for clamping and guiding a continuous sheet paper supply to a printer utilizes an inclined frame that supports pairs of rods. The paper from separate supplies passes between the rods. If not in use, the end of the paper is clamped at a convenient location with respect to the printer by the gravitational force of the upper roller on the inclined plane against the paper sheet and the lower roller. If the paper is connected to the printer, the rollers surrounding the paper may rotate to allow easy feeding to the printer.

  • Patent number: 4425047
Abstract: A printing machine capable of printing characters on two kinds of paper sheets, long paper sheets and short paper sheets, comprises two paper holder members movably provided relative to a paper feed roller to cause the long paper sheet to be clamped between the paper holder members and the paper feed roller, and a drive mechanism for moving the paper holder members to clamp a long paper sheet between the paper holder members and the paper feed roller when a pinch roller is pivoted away from the paper feed roller by another drive mechanism in order to set a short paper sheet into a space between a platen and a printing head.

  • Patent number: 4390296
Abstract: Several guide channels (6, 7) for respectively one paper web are arranged in a fan shape, these channels being oriented toward the nip (5) of a pair of feed rolls (1) of a printing device (2, 3) and each being equipped with a gripper (8, 9). In the rest position, each gripper (8, 9) is in contact with a web of paper, and the free ends of the paper webs have a spacing from the nip (5). The gripper (9) for the paper web to be printed advances the latter until it has entered the nip (5) of the rotating pair of rolls (1), then releases the web, and initially remains in its position (8). The pair of rolls (1) further conveys the paper web first into its printing position, after the printing step into its cutting position, and after cutting again in the reverse direction.
