A pen includes: a shank; an ink tube; a connector connected to the ink tube and the shank; a feeder connected to the connector; and a nib connected to the feeder. A writing tip of the nib extends through a hole in the feeder. The writing tip is resiliently biased against the feeder and is selectively moveable between a first position in which ink flow between the writing tip and the feeder is prevented and a second position in which ink flow between the writing tip and the feeder is permitted.

Abstract: An applicator device comprising a tubular base, a sleeve mounted rotating on the tubular base between a storage position and a use position, an end cover designed to close the sleeve, a maneuvering mechanism comprising first and second parts rotatably mounted relative to each other, and a cup carrying a stick of product, the first and second parts being driven in rotation respectively with the tubular base and the sleeve and being designed to move the cup axially when the sleeve rotates on the tubular base. The first and second parts of the maneuvering mechanism are mounted axially sliding respectively relative to the tubular base and to the sleeve, and are moved axially in the outlet direction of the stick of product when the sleeve is rotated towards the storage position from an intermediate angular position.

Abstract: A telescoping writing implement that retracts the writing point when in the collapsed position. An external pen body is mechanically connected to a writing cartridge through at least one aperture in a guide tube. Movement of the external pen body downward draws the writing cartridge down inside the guide tube until the writing end of the writing cartridge is exposed and the connecting means such as a clip, screw or pin contacts the lower edge of the aperture. When the outer pen body is moved upward, it draws the writing cartridge with it inside the guide tube until the writing end is protected inside the guide tube. The limits of travel are governed by the dimensions of the aperture when the connecting means contacts the edge of the aperture. Additional elements may include an upper pen body, a pocket retainer clip and internal position detents.

Abstract: Various multicolor writing tools and methods for applying multiple volatile marking substances one at a time. The tool includes a case member, a cartridge member, a cap member, and an optional actuator member. The case member forms an interior in which is disposed the cartridge member with multiple cartridges each containing one of the marking substances and a tip through which the marking substance is applied. The cap member changes and restores its configuration, while the actuator member changes the configuration and exposes one of the tips selected by an user out of the interior when the tool is in use, and then restores the configuration and encloses all of the tips inside the interior when not in use. Thus, the tool opens the cap member in response to input force without requiring the user to engage in a separate maneuver to remove the cap member.

Abstract: A writing instrument has a cam rotatably connected to a rear end of a main body so that rotation of the cam in opposite directions within a predetermined range advances and retracts a refill housed in the main body. A sealing section seals the front end of the refill when it is fully retracted in the main body. The outer configurations of the main body and the working cam have a generally regular triangle shape in cross section, and the outer configurations are coincident with each other at the position where rotation of the working cam starts and are rotationally shifted relative to one another when the working cam is rotated, whereby the rotation state of the working cam can be discerned by the coincidence or non-coincidence of the outer configurations.

Abstract: A valve includes a first valve portion made from a first material, the first valve portion including a body, a door, and an inner hinge pivotably connecting the body to the door, the body including a first opening at a first end and a second opening at a second end opposite the first end, and a circumferential recess disposed in the second end, wherein the inner hinge pivotably connects the door to the body at the first end and a second valve portion made from a second material, the second valve portion including an inner seal disposed in the circumferential recess, the inner seal including a circumferential ridge extending inwardly, the second valve portion further including a door seal disposed on the first end of the body.
