Retainer Guided In Orbital Path (e.g., Rotary Indexing) Patents (Class 401/110)
  • Patent number: 11561567
Abstract: The components of a push button comprise a plunger, a retainer, a spring and an end cap. The plunger has a button at the top, a middle section with an enlarged square cross-section, and a pin of reduced diameter at the bottom end. The plunger slidably strokes up and down within a retainer which has an upper portion that closely holds the button on the top of the plunger and also includes a rectilinear recess sized to receive the square midsection of the plunger. A middle portion of the retainer comprises an enlarged cylindrical cavity bounded above and below by opposing roof and floor surfaces. The roof and the floor have cams that engage the corners of the plunger midsection which cause it to rotate during plunger strokes. A spring within the retainer biases the plunger upward. The assembly of parts is captivated by a retainer end cap.

Abstract: A push button consists of component parts including a plunger, a retainer, a spring and an end cap. The plunger reciprocates within the retainer which has three main portions: an upper portion closely holds the button on the top of the plunger and includes a rectilinear recess that can receive a square midsection of the plunger. A middle portion of the retainer comprises an enlarged cavity that provides the side clearance for the plunger pin's enlarged square midsection to rotate. The cavity is bounded above and below by opposing roof and floor camming structures which engage the corners of the plunger midsection that causes it to rotate. A spring within the retainer biases the plunger upward. An end cap affixed to the bottom of the retainer captivates the plunger and spring assembly and provides attachment means to affix the push button assembly to a supporting structure.

The cam is disposed in the groove seat, has two opposite flat planes on the contour thereof, an eccentric device between said two flat planes, and the eccentric device to align with the pivot device so as to rotate in the groove seat eccentrically. While the cam is turned, the follower stem displaces by way of a top thereof keeping contact with the contour of the cam. The follower stem can be located at one of two specific positions respectively because of the pivot device having different distances apart said two opposite flat planes respectively.

Abstract: A pressing device for a pen and the pen further comprises a spring, and a center stick fitting with the spring and having a nib part. The pressing device further comprises a penholder, a movable tube, a bounce device, a press cap, and a clipping part. While the clamping piece on the clipping part touches a clipped article, the pen clip is urged to move outward and the clamping piece disengages with the engaging piece. The engaging piece moves upward along the guide slot because of the stretching of the spring and the pressing of the center stick till the stop ring has pressed against the upper opening. Accordingly, the nib part of the center stick may be received in the penholder automatically.

Abstract: An operating mechanism of a retractable ball-point pen including a ring mounted over a pin. The pin has at one end thereof a push button and at the other end thereof a portion having a greater diameter. Additionally, the pin has at least one pair of ribs which interact with grooves and saw-toothings on at least one end of the ring. The ends of the ribs are preferably provided with inclined lifting surfaces. To facilitate assembly, the saw-toothings may be symmetrically formed such that the direction of insertion into a pen housing is not critical. Preferably, the saw-toothings of the ring extend only over an inner partial portion of the wall thickness of the ring and the outer partial portion of the wall thickness of the ring forms a plane end face. A pen housing in which the operating mechanism may be positioned has axially extending supports configured to support the ring, preferably by engaging the plane end face of the ring.
