Abstract: A writing instrument includes a body extending between a rear end and a front end of the body which has an opening, the body defining an inner volume; a writing member mounted inside the body and including a tip which protrudes from the front of the body; a protective element including a guide portion sliding along the body and a protective end which extends the guide portion and has an opening to allow the tip to pass through, the protective element being movable between a tip protection position and a retracted position for writing; an elastic return element coupled with the guide portion in order to bias the protective element towards the protection position; and a system for locking the retracted position.

Abstract: A stylus comprises a stylus barrel, a connecting element and a stylus body. The stylus barrel has a receptacle defined therethrough. The connecting element is fixed to one end of the stylus barrel. The stylus body is retractably and slidably coupled to the stylus barrel. The stylus body is configured to be optionally supported by the connecting element in an extended state or locked to the opposite end of the stylus barrel in a retracted state with the stylus body received within the receptacle of the stylus barrel.

Abstract: A knock-type writing instrument is provided, which allows an easy refill exchange with a simple operation while inhibiting deformation of slits, breakage of a shaft tube, etc., during the refill exchange.

Abstract: A hand-held instrument comprising a writing utensil and associated handles interconnected to each other to allow a user to selectively position the writing utensil in either an extended position of use or a closed position of storage, as well as a variety of positions there between. The writing utensil may take a variety of forms, and the handles may incorporate additional devices or tools. The rotation of the handles about the writing utensil allows a user to manipulate the handles in a variety of ways, similar to that of a “butterfly knife” or similar device comprising balisong style openings. In one aspect of the invention, the writing instrument may be used to perform moves or tricks as a novelty device to provide entertainment and enjoyment to a user.

Abstract: A pen with double pen barrels is revealed. The pen with double pen barrels includes two pen barrels connected in parallel, a pen refill in each pen barrel, and a driving member disposed between the two pen barrels. When one of the pen barrels is pressed and moved downward, a pen refill extends out of a front end of the pen barrel, located to be in writing state. Then by releasing a stopper of the pen barrel, the pen barrel moves upward and the pen refill retracts to be in storage state. Thus the pen barrel and the pen refill extends and contracts synchronously. Moreover, interests in use of the pen are increased.

Abstract: A retractile mechanism for refills of writing instrument includes an outer tube, a refill, an inner tube, a sliding ring with load and a compression spring. The inner tube having a front stopper on the front end and a rear stopper on the rear end thereof. By movement of the sliding ring and the elastic rear stopper, the inner tube and the refill are pushed forward and backward so as to manipulate the refills of the writing instrument.

Abstract: A retractile pen has an outer barrel, an inner barrel movably located in the outer barrel, and a clip connected to a rear end of the outer barrel. The inner barrel has a retaining bolt elastically connected to a rear end thereof. A first and a second guide slot are correspondingly provided on the clip and the outer barrel. A push button is connected to the retaining bolt via a connecting bar downward extended from an expanded head straddling the first guide slot. When the push button is depressed and slid along the first guide slot, the inner barrel is moved to expose or retract a writing tip thereof from or into the outer barrel. When the writing tip is exposed, the push button locks a front end of the clip to remind a user of the exposed writing tip to avoid an ink-spotted pocket.

Abstract: A retractile pen includes an outer barrel and an inner barrel axially slidably received in the outer barrel. The outer barrel is provided with two axially spaced and aligned stop holes and the inner barrel is provided with an elastically depressible button adapted to partially project from either of the stop holes. By engaging the button on the inner barrel with a different stop hole on the outer barrel, the pen can be adjusted to either a longer length to facilitate writing with the pen or a shorter length to facilitate convenient carrying of the pen.

Abstract: A vibrating hand trowel for finishing plastic concrete. The vibratory mechanism includes piezoelectric elements which vibrate at a high frequency when a voltage is applied to them. The trowel as a whole includes a top piece including a cover plate and handle, and a bottom piece including the piezoelectric elements mounted on a rib and a flat bottom which contacts the concrete. The top and bottom piece are preferably attached by a series of screws. The vibrating trowel is pulled over the concrete creating a smooth, wet layer useful for lubrication of the area where the trowel and concrete are in contact. This layer develops because the vibrations cause water and air to rise to the top of the concrete. The invention will allow for easy finishing of plastic concrete because of its lightweight and simple design. The invention will also create a smooth finish of the hardened concrete.

Abstract: A writing implement of the type that incorporates a writing element which has the characteristic of deteriorating in the presence of air is disclosed. It comprises a housing and a writing element contained in the housing. A bias member for urging the writing element into a retracted position and a sealing closure member which is configured to be closed by the housing in the retracted position are provided. A stud is associated with the writing element. A mating stud is associated with the housing and adapted to frictionally engage the stud. The coefficient of friction between the stud and the mating stud is insufficient to overcome the urging of the bias member and prevent movement between the studs, whereby the writing element is driven to the retracted position.

Abstract: A writing instrument is provided which includes a body having a barrel portion and a plunger portion. The barrel portion has opposed front and rear ends for housing a replaceable writing cartridge and a spring for biasing the cartridge toward the rear end of the barrel portion. The plunger portion is removably maintained in the rear end of the barrel portion and is configured for moving the cartridge between a retracted portion and a protracted position and for rotational and axial movement with respect to the center line of the barrel portion for removing the plunger portion to replace the cartridge. A clip member is pivotably mounted to the body of the writing instrument and includes a latch for selectively engaging the body of the writing instrument when the cartridge is in a protracted position.

Abstract: A grip-steadying device for a writing instrument with an elevated-elongate grip-protrusion extending from the barrel of the instrument. The protrusion may extend from, or comprise a collar adapted to slidably encircle the barrel that can be moved to a point convenient to the grip of the user, or be positioned over the writing tip of the instrument when the latter is not in use. If desired, a holding clip can be provided in association with the collar.

Abstract: A ball-point pen is disclosed, having a push button which can be displaced to a limited extent in longitudinal direction of the ball-point pen housing so as to extend the cartridge which is urged by spring in the inward direction, and having a detent means for locking the inwardly-pushed position of the push button. In order to obtain a simple structural form as well as a mechanism which operates trouble-free, it is proposed that the push button be developed as a slide plate and have on its wide side a tongue cut therefrom which extends resiliently transversely out of the wide side and bears the detent tooth of the detent means.
