Supply Container And Independent Applicator Patents (Class 401/118)
  • Patent number: 6986617
Abstract: An apparatus includes a cylindrically shaped reservoir for housing lotion therein. The reservoir has a continuous outer surface defining monolithically formed upper and lower portions. The upper portion is spaced inwardly from the lower portion. A cap is threadably conjoinable with the upper portion. An elongated and rectilinear handle is slidably positional into the reservoir. The handle is provided with a monolithically formed bottom lip portion annularly protruding away therefrom and a monolithically formed top end that has a spherical shape. An applicator pad is rotatably conjoined about the handle and nested within the reservoir in such a manner that the applicator pad becomes impregnated with the lotion during non-operating conditions. The applicator pad has an open top end portion wherein the handle is positioned therethrough. The applicator pad maintains a static relationship with the reservoir as the handle is linearly extracted from the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 6918710
Abstract: An improved package, suitable for holding a treatment fluid comprising a volatile solvent and kits comprising the package containing the treatment fluid and an applicator are disclosed. The package comprises a reservoir for the liquid which is sealed by a ruturable seal. A cap, coupled to one end of the reservoir, is in the form of a sleeve which is axially translatable along the reservoir from first to second positions. A cutting tool integrated with the cap ruptures the rupturable seal as the cap is moved from first to second positions so that the liquid can thereby be made accessible through an opening in an end wall of the cap. The package provides excellent protection for volatile liquids, yet can be easily opened by a simple press-action, instantly providing access to the liquid so that it can subsequently accessed by a liquid applicator.

Abstract: The subject invention pertains to compositions comprising a rubber-like polymer and low boiling point alkanes which can be used to provide a flexible, durable, permanent repair for snags, holes, runs or ladders in hosiery such as pantyhose and nylon stockings. In a preferred embodiment, the rubber-like polymer is a gum-like residue obtained from drying commercial rubber cement adhesive. A composition comprising 2% weight to volume of this residue in an equal volume solvent system of pentane and hexane is applied to the snag and allowed to dry. When the repair is made while the stocking is being worn, a thin, transparent shield can be inserted between the stocking and the skin of the person wearing the stocking. The shield protects the skin from the composition yet does not adhere to the skin or stocking. The shield therefore can be easily removed after the composition is dry or can be left in place between the skin and the hosiery.

  • Patent number: 6186971
Abstract: A swab dispenser comprising a bin adapted to store swabs, a fluid reservoir, and optionally, a cover. The bin may be compartmentalized. The reservoir ceiling has a depression in its outer surface and an aperture at the low point of the depression. A membrane covers the aperture. The membrane has at least two intersecting slits that allows a swab to be inserted into the reservoir by temporarily deforming the membrane. Preferably, the slits extend completely across the aperture. Preferably, the floor of the reservoir is concave with the low point directly below the aperture.

  • Patent number: 6186688
Abstract: A Magnetic, latent fingerprint development brush featuring a non-rigid, removable, disposable cover/body, to be used when developing latent fingerprints on contaminated surfaces. The cover can be removed and cleaned or disposed of and exchanged with a new cover. The non-rigid design allows operation without tension springs. The tip is less abrasive against surfaces being printed, since it has no sharp rigid edges. This lessens the chance of distortion of the latent print. The design is simple. A magnetic rod is attached to a handle, which is inserted into a flexible removable cover/body. A light grip holds the cover against the handle during use.

  • Patent number: 6168335
Abstract: A dispensing device is detachably mountable atop a plurality of valved containers containing constituents under pressure which are dispensed upon actuation of the container valves. The dispensing device comprises a mixing chamber for mixing together the constituents dispensed from the containers to form a mixed product and for outputting the mixed product through plural outlet ports, an applicator having a plurality of tines at least some of which are hollow, the hollow tines being in fluid communication with respective outlet ports of the mixing chamber for dispensing from distal ends thereof the mixed product, and an actuator for simultaneously actuating the container valves. The mixing chamber has an inlet port for admitting the constituents dispensed from the containers into the mixing chamber, and an elongated tortuous flow path having one end communicating with the inlet port and another end communicating with the plural outlet ports.

  • Patent number: 6151746
Abstract: A method for fusing brushware on a thin walled, molded hollow plastic synthetic container is described. Tufts of synthetic materials arc picked and non-working ends thereof fused. The hollow bottle is molded with protrusions extending from a surface thereof with one protrusion intended to received each fused tuft end. The protrusions then are heat softened to form a melted section of synthetic surface wherein the fused tuft end can be mounted. The result is a hollow container having tufts extending from the outer surface thereof, integral with the container without distorting the thin wall thereof by the fusing process.
