Abstract: A cosmetic applicator for applying a product including a cosmetic, care or pharmaceutical composition onto the keratinous substrate such as skin, lips, under eyes, eyelids, cheeks, or any other part of the body. The cosmetic applicator includes an applicator head having an applying member and a shank portion. The applying member includes a stiffness modifying portion to modify the resistance of the applying member to deflection in a transverse direction. In one embodiment the applying member comprises a first application face and a second application face. The stiffness modifying portion comprises a hinge formed between the shank portion and the applying member. The hinge is limited to a single zone in a circumference of the applicator head to provide flexibility to the applying member giving user the feeling that the applying member is very soft and resilient. According to another embodiment the applying member comprises a planar spatula member with a first face and an opposite second face.

A lid having an applicator attachment mechanism extending outward from the bottom surface is removably secured to the main body via connectors. The box including a shape and dimension that is suitable for receiving a floor finish applicator that is secured to the lid, and for suspending the applicator within a solution contained within the main body.

Abstract: Biological samples, such as saliva, are commonly collected on a swab and subsequently transferred to an absorbent storage medium. Embodiments of the present invention provide a biological sample collection device 600 comprising a collection portion 620 and a body portion 610, the body portion including a holding portion 652 for holding a biological sample storage medium (618 FIG. 1), and a sample collection/transfer means. The collection portion 620 can be arranged in a first position shown in FIG. 4, separated from the body portion for collecting a sample. The cracking tool is used to crack the adhesive substance by forming breaking lines on the surface of the adhesive substance, and then the scrapping assembly is used to scrape off the adhesive substance by starting from the breaking lines. The combination of the cracking tool and the scraping assembly allows the user to remove adhesive substance easily and completely. Besides, the cutting assembly of the cracking tool is able to move freely both in straight-line or circular fashion, and the cracking tool can be prevented from rotating or disengaging once it is positioned in place on the base. Hence, convenience and safety of use can both be assured.

Abstract: According to the invention, a surface cleaning device comprises an electrolytic cell for generating bleach for use with a cleaning pad. The electrolytic cell is in fluid communication with the cleaning pad for delivering bleach to a surface to be cleaned. According to another embodiment of the invention, the surface cleaning device is a hand-held cleaning device capable of selectively generating bleach at the request of a user directly in the cleaning pad. A sufficient amount of bleach for cleaning a surface can be generated within the electrolytic cell at the request of a user, eliminating the need for storing and transporting large quantities of bleach.

Abstract: A device for applying a product may comprise a first portion and a second portion moveable with respect to the first portion so as to selectively place the device in one of a closed position and an open position. The first portion and the second portion may define a substantially closed reservoir when the device is in the closed position. The device may further comprise an application member. The application member may be at least partially compressible and configured such that, when the device is in the closed position, the application member is at least partially compressed inside the substantially closed reservoir and, when the device is moved from the closed position to the open position, the application member becomes substantially uncompressed.
