The end face which defines the opening of the cap is diagonal to the lower end face of the cap and the opening interior of the cap has a color coating.

  • Patent number: 6331085
Abstract: A container-applicator system for cosmetic or like materials such as creams, powders, liquids and gels. The applicator of the system has an elongated tip for metered application of the material, located at the distal end of a stem which is carried by a cap so as to be inserted into and withdrawn from the mouth of a container of a cosmetic product to be applied. The tip is a molded elastomer element having a distal end formed with a shallow cup, which may be oriented at an oblique angle to the stem. A flexible wiper, mounted in the container mouth, removes excess material from the cup as the applicator is withdrawn from the container.

Abstract: The brush (1) includes a core (2) formed from a metal wire bent into a U and the branches of which are twisted to trap radial bristles (3) between them, the core (2) being fixed to the end of a wand (6). The branches of the core are twisted, turning to the left, to form turns which turn in the clockwise direction about the axis (X) of the core when progressing from the wand towards the end of the brush, whereas the bristles (3) of the brush form helical layers (S) rising from left to right in the area located between the core and an observer who holds the brush substantially vertical in front of him/her with its tip pointing upwards.

  • Patent number: 6325561
Abstract: An apparatus for the containment and dispensing of a lotion directly to the body of a user includes a container with a first opening and a cap adapted to cover the first opening. A center member is attached to the cap and extends in the container into a lotion that is housed within the container when the cap is disposed so as to cover the first opening. A lotion applicator portion is detachably-attached to a distal end of the center member. An extensible member is disposed in the center member and is adapted to retract therein or to extend therefrom sufficient to increase the combined length of the center member and the extensible member thereby permitting the applicator portion to reach a more remote part of the body of the user. A wiper is disposed in the container and is used to remove excess lotion from the center member and from the lotion applicator portion when the cap is removed from the container. An optional second opening includes a refill cap and is used to clean or to refill the container.

  • Patent number: 6309125
Abstract: A mascara applicator includes a brush attached to a wand which is preformed with a predetermined bend angle which presents the brush in an offset orientation that makes it easier and more convenient to apply mascara to eyelashes. In a first embodiment, the wand is a narrow gauge wire or tube of a shape memory alloy which is characterized by pseudo-elasticity, and the wire or tube is deformed by a predetermined longitudinal bend angle in its relaxed memory recovery state. In an alternative embodiment, the wand includes link segments of a narrow gauge rod or tube of relatively stiff plastic material. At least two of the segments are joined together by a living hinge section which permits the wand to flex preferentially at the living hinge in response to a bending force. The living hinge is also characterized by flex memory recovery in which it automatically assumes a predetermined bend angle in the absence of a bending force.
