  • Publication number: 20020176733
Abstract: An article of manufacture for dispensing an adhesive material, such as a synthetic or semi-synthetic polymerizable or cross-linkable monomer material, includes a container body, and a porous applicator tip having a proximal end that is attached to the container body, and a distal end located away from the container body, wherein the adhesive material is located in the container body in a non-contacting relationship with the applicator tip prior to dispensing the material. A flow pattern of the adhesive material within or on the applicator tip is controlled by controlling lengths of flow paths of the material through the applicator tip, forming one or more grooves in the applicator tip, providing a hollow, controlled thickness tip, and/or adding a cover surrounding at least a part but not all of an exposed area of the applicator tip.

  • Patent number: 6071029
Abstract: A gel dispensing hair brush having a plurality of hollow bristles tapering from a head of the brush to a free end at a tip of the bristle for dispensing a gel from within a storage reservoir of the brush. The bellows or storage device from which the gel is dispensed is maintained between four guide ramps located surrounding the bellows. Each opposed set of guide ramps intersects at an obtuse angle so as to guide the sides of the bellows upwardly as the bellows is compressed by a compression plate. Compression of the bellows is achieved by rotation of a thumb wheel extending through the handle of the brush. The recesses and projections of the thumb wheel interengage with complementary shaped recesses and projections found on a toothed side of an indexing bar. On an opposite side of the indexing bar, opposite to the thumb wheel, is a smooth guide roller for maintaining an accurate movement of the indexing bar between the thumb wheel and guide roller. A dispensing plate is movable under the head of the brush.

  • Patent number: 5152305
Abstract: An apparatus for a hair dye applicator is provided which includes a hollow tubular housing with screw-threadably removable caps on both longitudinal ends thereof. One of the caps includes a centrally located outlet through which a hollow stem of an integrally formed nozzle unit is fitted. A manually actuable piston is provided within the tubular housing and includes an actuator member longitudinally slidable along the length of and external to the tubular housing. To ensure that the piston does not axially rotate within the tubular housing during a longitudinal sliding motion thereof, a protruding track is longitudinally provided on the inner wall of the tubular housing and mates with a corresponding recess of the piston. A liner such as a disposable plastic bag is provided within the tubular housing above the piston for receiving a hair dispensable product therein. The screw-threaded end caps confine the contents of the applicator during use thereof.

  • Patent number: 4974981
Abstract: A cosmetic powder brush dispenser for depositing cosmetic powder onto a brush within the unitary structure of the dispenser. The dispenser incorporates a deformable container for storing the cosmetic powder and a spray-head at the end of the container with an orifice and upstanding posts that ensure powder break-up prior to its exiting the orifice. A second embodiment of the device uses a metering collar to limit the amount of deformation of the container whereby a desired small quantity of cosmetic powder is forced therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4958748
Abstract: An adhesive container/feeder comprises an elastic container filled with a liquid adhesive, opposite side push members coupled to each other by a connector spring to bias the members away from each other, and a case accommodating the container such that an outlet nozzle of the container projects from the upper end and having opposite side operation windows formed in the peripheral wall of the case. The members which are coupled to each other and biased away from each other and are disposed to project out of and retreat into the respective windows. A sealing cap is removably fitted on the lower end of the case for holding the bottom of the liquid adhesive container, and a top cap is removably fitted on said case to cover the outlet nozzle of the liquid adhesive container and an upper end portion of the case. The liquid adhesive can be provided as a drop to a part to be bonded without contacting such part.
