Including Mechanical-movement Actuator Patents (Class 401/163)
  • Patent number: 6071029
Abstract: A gel dispensing hair brush having a plurality of hollow bristles tapering from a head of the brush to a free end at a tip of the bristle for dispensing a gel from within a storage reservoir of the brush. The bellows or storage device from which the gel is dispensed is maintained between four guide ramps located surrounding the bellows. Each opposed set of guide ramps intersects at an obtuse angle so as to guide the sides of the bellows upwardly as the bellows is compressed by a compression plate. Compression of the bellows is achieved by rotation of a thumb wheel extending through the handle of the brush. The recesses and projections of the thumb wheel interengage with complementary shaped recesses and projections found on a toothed side of an indexing bar. On an opposite side of the indexing bar, opposite to the thumb wheel, is a smooth guide roller for maintaining an accurate movement of the indexing bar between the thumb wheel and guide roller. A dispensing plate is movable under the head of the brush.

  • Patent number: 5208933
Abstract: A powered dental tool dispenses a liquid dentifrice from a removable and replaceable cartridge to a dental site being cleaned or otherwise treated. The tool mounts the cartridge to receive a supply of the dispensable liquid, and accommodates the removal and replacement of a spent cartridge. A removable and replaceable cartridge for supplying dispensable liquid to a dental tool is initially sealed, is readily installed in the tool with a connection to a dispensing tube, and is collapsible for emptying it. A multiple-treatment dental care system has a single power handle that operates interchangeable with a fluid dispensing spray implement, with a rotary treatment implement, and with a revolving-bristle brush implement. In addition to dispensing fluid with the spray implement, the system can dispense liquid material to the dental site being treated by way of the rotary implement and by way of the revolving brush implement.

  • Patent number: 4974981
Abstract: A cosmetic powder brush dispenser for depositing cosmetic powder onto a brush within the unitary structure of the dispenser. The dispenser incorporates a deformable container for storing the cosmetic powder and a spray-head at the end of the container with an orifice and upstanding posts that ensure powder break-up prior to its exiting the orifice. A second embodiment of the device uses a metering collar to limit the amount of deformation of the container whereby a desired small quantity of cosmetic powder is forced therefrom.
