Abstract: A method and apparatus for applying a fluid onto a number of surfaces. In one illustrative example, an apparatus may comprises a base having a number of channels, a number of flexible members extending from the base, and an applicator extending from the base on a same side as the number of flexible members. A flexible member in the number of flexible members may have a fluid channel connected to at least one of the number of channels in the base to allow a fluid flowing through the number of channels to flow out of the fluid channel. The applicator may be configured to apply the fluid flowing out of the number of flexible members onto a number of surfaces.

Abstract: A painting system comprises a pressurized paint canister and a pressure fed paint brush or powered paint roller connectable to the pressurized paint canister. The canister includes a paint reservoir, a self-sealing gas pressure fitting in fluid communication with the paint reservoir and configured to be connected to a gas pressure source, a paint outlet in fluid communication with the paint reservoir, and a removable cap for filling the paint reservoir with paint. The brush assembly includes a main body having a handle and a brush stock and a bristle bundle secured in the brush stock. A plurality of fluid distribution members extend into the bristle assembly and are multidirectionally flexible such that the distribution members flex substantially freely with the flex of the bristles in any direction. The fluid distribution members prevent paint flow when in an unflexed state and allow flow onto the bristles only when flexed.

Abstract: A decking coating composition applicator (10) including a receptacle (16) which can receive a paint container (12) containing a coating composition, the receptacle including an air vent (28) and a liquid aperture (30) arranged such that they both penetrate a valve (66) on the paint container when the paint container is in the receptacle, thereby immersing both the air vent and the liquid aperture in the coating composition in the paint container and an applicator surface (18) fluidly connected to the receptacle such that the coating composition can be supplied to the applicator surface, the applicator surface comprising a pad portion (82), and a bristles portion (88), in which the bristles portion is positioned outside of an area defined by the pad portion.

Abstract: A fountain applicator handle includes a body having a side part extending laterally therefrom the body, the side part communicating with the body. A neck section is defined in the first passage of the body and has a tapered shoulder defined in the first passage, the tapered shoulder located near the front end of the body to which a roller is attached. A control device has a bar extending radially from the first end thereof and an insert extends from the bar. An aperture is defined between the bar and the insert. The control device is movably inserted into the body and the insert is movably inserted into the side part. The bar normally close the second passage. A block has a tapered end thereof engaged with the tapered shoulder and is fixedly connected to the second end of the control device.

Abstract: An apparatus for applying a liquid to a surface comprising an applicator and a body member. The applicator is secured to an end of the body member, the body member defining a reservoir for housing a fluid. The body member includes a piston member for exerting a force on the fluid in the reservoir, and two channels, a first channel being in fluid communication with a channel in the applicator and a second channel being in fluid communication with an area outside the body member. The body member further including a valve for allowing fluid communication between the reservoir and either the first channel or second channel. An additional one-way valve which can be manually deactivated may be included in the second channel.

Abstract: A liquid nail polish applicator having a bottle containing a supply of nail polish and a brush applicator on the open end of the bottle. The brush is supplied with nail polish liquid internally through the brush bottle upon the removal of the center seal from the open end of the bottle and upon inverting the bottle.

Abstract: Disclosed is a package for dispensing flowable materials such as powders and liquids, particularly those intended for cosmetic use. A cover (30) fits snugly against chamber wall (12) and overlies dispensing opening (14). Removal of the cover draws a measured quantity of flowable product (50) through conduit (40) and out of the dispensing opening. A vent opening (22) through the chamber wall is preferably provided to permit the interior of the chamber to adjust to atmospheric pressure. And, a cover relief opening (32) is preferably provided to permit easy replacement of the cover and control of the quantity of product dispensed.

Abstract: A reservoir brush useful for washing automobiles and the like has a vacuum creating pump operable in a chamber in which an expandable bladder resides in order to draw fluid through the head of a brush to which the bladder is attached and into the bladder, wherein the chamber is vented, facilitating collapse of the bladder and run-out of the fluid when the pump is not operating, the pump including a check valve facilitating the pumping action.

Abstract: A utility brush usable to wash various objects includes a brush head and a handle member, the former including cleaning means such as bristles extending from one face thereof. Also included are port means formed through the head to provide communication between the cleaning means and a reservoir containing a cleaning fluid whereby the cleaning fluid can be fed into and out of the reservoir. Associated with the reservoir means is check valve means for allowing air to be exhausted from the reservoir during filling and for maintaining the reduced pressure in the reservoir means during the release of the cleaning fluid.
