  • Publication number: 20150110542
Abstract: A nail polish bottle comprises a bottle body, a cap including a disc portion having a center hole and one or more air holes and including a discharge passage and one or more external-air introduction grooves in flow contact with the air holes. A pressure opening and closing valve is mounted to the disc portion such that a skirt portion of the valve may sit below the disc portion and a top of the valve may be above the disc portion. The skirt portion may press against the disc portion to close the air holes. When internal pressure in the bottle body opens the top of the valve, nail polish may flow through the discharge passage if the bottle is upside-down. When the internal pressure is released, the top of the valve may close and the skirt portion may move away from the disc to open the air holes.

  • Patent number: 7425102
Abstract: A fluid flow control valve for use in a fluid applicator tip which is connectable onto an open end of a resiliently squeezable container. The valve includes a valve body defining a flow aperture formed centrally therethrough. A separate sealing ball is held in coaxial alignment and gravity biased seated against the flow aperture and oriented downstream of fluid flow through the flow aperture from the open end of the container. The valve is thus normally closed and opens or unseats automatically when at least partially inverted to permit fluid to flow through the fluid aperture when the container is held in at least a somewhat inverted orientation and squeezed to increase fluid pressure to open or unseat the sealing ball. The sealing ball automatically reseats when the container is righted and there is no substantial pressure within the container, preventing virtually all air from drying the fluid within the container.

  • Patent number: 5908257
Abstract: A toothbrush which is adapted to contain a significant quantity of toothpaste therein and to dispense the toothpaste onto the toothbrush bristles. The toothbrush generally comprises a hollow handle having a brush head formed integrally on its top end, a disposable toothpaste containing cartridge supported within its interior, and a piston mechanism threadably attached to its bottom end. The piston mechanism is adapted to force the toothpaste out of the handle into a conduit formed through the brush head. The conduit leads from the interior of the handle to a plurality of outlet holes disposed below resilient valves in a rubber gasket layer which supports the bristles. The valves allow toothpaste to flow from the conduit onto the bristles of the toothpaste while preventing water or other fluids from flowing into the conduit to contaminate the toothpaste supply.

  • Patent number: 5407287
Abstract: A fountain toothbrush has in its handle a toothpaste reservoir constantly pressurized by a charge of actuator gas acting through a cup-like piston disposed at the upstream end of the reservoir. The gas pressure pushes the piston and toothpaste downstream while resiliently urging the piston sidewall against the reservoir boundary wall to forwardly extrude toothpaste adjacent the boundary wall. A valve for selectively passing toothpaste from the reservoir to the brush head includes an apertured gate and a structurally separate actuator for translating the gate in a valve chamber in opposition to a bias spring. Separating the gate from the actuator permits the gate to be positively sealed against the chamber outlet by the toothpaste in the closed valve position. A lengthwise segment of the gate has a reduced thickness dimension so as not to fill the upstream side of the valve chamber, thereby avoiding the creation of a partial vacuum that would otherwise hold the gate in its open position.

  • Patent number: 5403107
Abstract: The cleaning device includes a squeeze-bottle with a spout and a brush extending from the spout. A flow restrictor prevents cleaning fluid from being dispersed from the spout to the brush until the bottle is squeezed. The flow restrictor is formed simply by inserting the twisted wire handle of the brush into a tube forming the outlet of the spout. The length of the tube and the twisted wire can be selected to give the desired amount of flow restriction. The device is particularly well adapted for use in cleaning solder flux and other undesirable substances from printed circuit boards after they have been assembled. The cleaning device is relatively compact, inexpensive to make, and simple to use.

  • Patent number: 5332325
Abstract: Applicator tube for cosmetic products, particularly mascara, having a tubular outer body. A cap fitted on one end of the tubular body has a rod attached to it, and an applicator is attached at the other end or the rod. The applicator is disposed inside the tubular body, in a longitudinally moveable part, and is removable therefrom to apply the cosmetic product. A removable container is at the lower end of the tubular body. A deformable part is disposed above the container whereby pressing down and releasing the cap causes mascara to be drawn into the applicator tube from the removable container to impregnate the applicator, which can then be withdrawn from the tubular body to apply the mascara. In another embodiment, the applicator moves between a retracted position inside the tubular body and an extended position when the removable container is pushed into the tubular body and thereafter withdrawn.

  • Patent number: 5320442
Abstract: A liquid applicator structure which has an application tip fixed to front end of a cylindrical body and a liquid supply assembly built in its rear end. The liquid supply assembly includes a rotatable rod composed of a cylindrical shank-and-operating end and a solid rod having male threads thereon.
