  • Patent number: 8360673
Abstract: An applicator device, particularly suited for mascara, may deliver high or low viscosity liquids or semi-liquids, and contains a valve controlling flow between a product reservoir, an intermediate pooling area, and a product dispensing chamber. The arrangement prevents backflow to the product reservoir, precluding contamination of the product supply. Product delivery from the product dispensing chamber is from one of several methods. In one method, a plurality of prongs each comprise a conduit to the product dispensing chamber and thereby allow for dispersed product delivery from the prong tips. Alternatively, there may be one or more openings on the applicator head being interconnected to the dispensing chamber, which permits product to extrude between the rows of prongs and thereby be applied to a receiving surface. A third embodiment combines the two methods along with alternating height prongs to more effectively apply mascara onto all sides of a user's lashes.

  • Patent number: 8016508
Abstract: As an inner moving body of a cosmetic brush is pushed, an upper cone type elastic part and a lower cone type elastic part are compressed, thereby opening an inner hole and discharging powder toward a brush. When the inner moving body is released, the inner moving body returns to its original position by the elasticity of a spring inserted around the circumference of a middle member and by expansive force of the upper cone type elastic part and the lower cone type elastic part. An inner hole is closed by a sealing sill formed on circumference of a sealing pin so that powder is not discharging. Thereby, the brush can control the amount of powder to be discharged with the spring inserted around the circumference of a middle member and the expansive force of the upper cone type elastic part and the lower cone type elastic part which are formed on the middle member.

Abstract: An apparatus spreads flowable materials such as adhesives and/or sealants on a surface such as a floor and/or a wall. The apparatus has a pad retainer for a removable spreader pad and a reservoir chamber for flowable material pivotally attached to the pad retainer to permit pivoting of the reservoir chamber frontwards and backwards. The reservoir chamber has an adjustable gate through which the flowable material may exit. The gate is proximal the bottom of the reservoir chamber and complementary to the width of the pad retaining means to permit more uniform spreading of the flowable material. A handle is attached to and extends from the reservoir chamber. The handle may pivot from side to side on the reservoir chamber and may be hollow to house a cable associated with the means for opening the gate.

  • Patent number: 7175360
Abstract: A tube style cosmetic container structure includes a tube having an opening arranged axially at one end. An axle sleeve is connected to the tube by being sleeved inside of the opening. A hollow piston rod includes a flanged disk arranged at the outside. A spring is placed against an end surface formed by a holding space of the axle sleeve and the hollow rod piston. A hollow sleeve pipe is firmly sleeved in the snatch part of the hollow piston rod. A hollow pencil pipe is sleeved by the hollow sleeve pipe and snatched by the protruding part of the hollow piston rod. An exterior cap can be screwed on the threaded part at the tube opening. When the exterior cap is screwed on, the material discharge hole can be wholly blocked, and no liquid will flow even if the tube is under certain pressure. When the exterior cap is screwed off and the tube is squeezed to force the contents out, no squeezed contents will backflow even if the pressure is reduced or stopped.

  • Patent number: 7011467
Abstract: An oral hygiene kit comprises a paste-dispensing toothbrush assembly and a cooperatively associated floss assembly. The toothbrush assembly comprises a paste-dispensing brush, a paste pump assembly, a piston, and a paste reservoir. The pump assembly is operable to drive the piston within the paste reservoir for forcing paste from the paste reservoir. When forced from the paste reservoir, paste is conveyed via a paste conduit through the paste-dispensing brush to a brush head. The floss assembly is cooperatively associated with the toothbrush assembly and comprises a spool-supporting lid, a floss spool, and a floss cap. The spool-supporting lid covers the paste-dispensing brush and supports the floss spool. The floss cap covers the floss spool and provides the kit with a floss-cutting structure. Together the toothbrush assembly and the floss assembly may contribute to a user's oral hygiene.

Abstract: A toothbrush assembly includes a removable cartridge housing a spring biased piston dentifrice in a storage area. The cartridge is received in a canister attached to a brush head stem in which a passage is formed. The piston forces a quantity of the dentifrice through a supply tube in the cartridge to the passage that connects to an aperture in the brush head. A normally closed valve in the passage controls the flow of the dentifrice. The piston can be removed for refilling the cartridge with the dentifrice. Alternatively, the used cartridge may be replaced with a new prefilled disposable cartridge.
