In addition, a groove may be provided in the head of the handbrush for receiving and holding an edge of a steel blade for removing ice from the windscreens of motor vehicles or the like.

  • Patent number: 5033898
Abstract: A toothbrush having a self-contained supply of cleaning liquid. Multiple miniature liquid flow openings are formed in the brush holder portion of the toothbrush, such that the cleaning liquid is distributed onto essentially all of the brush clusters. In one form of the invention liquid flow is restricted by porous sponge elements extending across the flow openings. In another form of the invention the multiple flow openings are of pinhole size in order to restrict the liquid flow.

  • Patent number: 5028158
Abstract: A one piece structure of a toothbrush is described with threads for attaching a toothpaste tube to the end of the handle. The handle is provided with an opening extending along the length of the handle with a diameter substantially equal to the opening from the toothpaste tube. The end of the handle with the bristles has, among the bristles, a plurality of openings with a total diameter of all openings substantially equal to the diameter of the handle opening as well as the toothpaste tube opening, so that toothpaste is extruded from the tube with substantially no increase in resistance. The end of the handle about the end with the toothpaste tube has an enlarged member with a flange therearound, so that a cover placed over the bristles is sealed against the flange, and a transparent cover placed over the toothpaste tube is sealed against the opposite surface of the flange. Several modifications are described for particular uses.

Abstract: A brush includes a housing unit and a bristle plate disposed within the housing unit. The bristle plate has a plurality of parallel bristle elements projecting downward therefrom. A guide unit guides the bristle elements to move through the bristle holes of the housing unit. A resilient unit biases the bristle plate to move upward in the housing unit, so as to retract the bristle elements into the housing unit. A bristle-pushing member includes a generally inverted U-shaped body riding on the bristle plate, a rotating shaft provided on the body and journalled in the housing unit, a rotary lever connected securely to an end of the body, and a push lever connected securely to the other end of the body. Rotation of the rotary lever moves the bristle elements between an extension position and a retraction position.

  • Patent number: 4865482
Abstract: A pet flea and tick brush comprising a container with deforming walls. The container includes a threaded hollow container neck in communication with the inside of the container. A hollow brush neck threadably engages the container neck. The hollow brush neck includes an essentially central axis that defines approximately between about 50.degree. and about 70.degree. angle with a horizontal plane. A brush head having a generally oval elliptical shaped face is integrally bound to the brush neck. The oval elliptical shaped face includes a facial plane that makes approximately between about 50.degree. and about 70.degree. angle with the central axis of the hollow neck brush. A plurality of generally frusto-conical hollow teeth with a discharge aperture is integrally bound to the oval elliptical shaped face. The ingredients from within the container pass from the container through the discharge aperture of the hollow teeth when the container is squeezed and/or inverted.

  • Patent number: 4850729
Abstract: A decontaminating composition and delivery system therefor. The decontaminating composition is prepared by combining a "per-salt", an activator for hydrogen peroxide which effects free radical formation, both of which are in a dry form and an aqueous solution comprised of a nonvolatile alcohol and a surface active agent. The "per-salt" of the present invention is a basic water-soluble salt such as percarbonate, perborate, persilicate or perphosphate which releases hydrogen peroxide in aqueous solution. While not true per-salts in the strict chemical sense, they are otherwise conventional salts containing hydrogen peroxide of crystallization which is released in aqueous solution. The decontaminating composition and delivery system comprise a dispenser containing, in separate compartments, the various components as aforesaid which are thoroughly mixed prior to being dispensed onto the surface to be treated.

Abstract: A pressure-fed brush may be used for efficient painting. The elastomeric bladder member inside the brush member is provided with a plurality of slots which separate the pressure-fed V-slots into separate fingers, thereby allowing flexing over irregular surfaces. A flow control restrictor is also provided to allow the flow fed to the brush to be varied according to the nature and viscosity of the materials being used. By providing such a flow controller, the need to feather or otherwise modulate the valve at the brush is removed. The handle and valve assembly may be utilized with different size brush heads by provision of different intermediate members which retain varying size bladders for use with varying size brush members.

Abstract: A fluid pressure cleaning apparatus for cleaning large or inaccessible surfaces, such as a floor or truck sidewall. A housing has a manifold assembly mounted in the interior thereof with a plurality of linearly aligned spray nozzles spaced apart to provide a continuous spray or curtain of cleaning fluid to the surface to be cleaned. Portions of the manifold assembly extend through the housing and are connected to a handle assembly. A first brush array lines the outer edges of the housing and confines the spray from the manifold assembly and assists in cleaning the surface. A second array of scrub brushes is provided within the periphery of the first array. In one form of the cleaning apparatus the manifold assembly has a fluid discharge port and a valve selectively operable to open and close the port. When the valve is closed high pressure fluid is discharged from the nozzles to wash and rinse the surface. Detergent and fluid is directed unto the surface when the valve is open.
