The brush is in fluid communication with the interior of the container to receive paint through passages reaching into the interior of the container. A container cap is attachable over the brush to prevent paint on the brush from drying out between use. The container includes a diaphragm in at least one side allowing a user to create pressure inside the container to urge paint into the brush. One example of suitable paint is water based paint.

The main body tube is configured for storing a dentifrice. The tool further includes an internally threaded bob to mate with the threaded pole. The end cap is assembled with the tubular body by locking the first and the second locking means. Turning the turn cap causes the bob to move in a direction along the threaded pole causing the dentifrice to be released from the first opening.

One side of the head has bristles and orifices into the cavity. A resilient pivotally-mounted cover may enclose the cavity. The orifices may be sized in direct proportion to the substance's viscosity and to a desired speed for dispensing. A flexible material may block each orifice, except for a length-wise slit, to inhibit substance outflow until pressure is applied to the cover. A plurality of lateral slits may be added to form finger like members being normally biased to seal the orifice. Foil may also cover the orifices until dispensing occurs, where the foil ruptures to uncover the orifices. Spiked members on the cover portion may protrude in toward the cavity when the cover is closed, to more easily pierce the foil when pressure is applied to the bulbous cover.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for applying liquid protectorant to a targeted surface, such as a automobile tire sidewall, comprising a container for holding the liquid protectorant, a hand-held applicator, and a conduit between the container and the applicator. And one embodiment, the container is pressurized and a manually controllable valve is operable to deliver the liquid protectorant from the container to the applicator. The applicator includes a nozzle for delivering liquid protectorant. The nozzle, however, is surrounded by portions of the applicator, for example brush bristles, to prevent liquid protectorant from traveling to other than the targeted area.

Abstract: An improved internal feed paint brush having a flexible liquid-impermeable paint distribution manifold interior of a plurality of filaments formed of a flat, woven nylon cloth conduit coated with polyurethane film and sealed to a rigid plastic end cap and having a plurality of channels in the distribution manifold formed by a plurality of spaced-apart, longitudinally extending bonds in the coated nylon material. The manifold is sonically welded to the end cap and the filament and manifold assembly is sealed with epoxy.

Abstract: A scrubber attachment is provided for a spray bottle which includes a spray nozzle. The scrubber attachment includes a base member which includes a top side, a bottom side, and a communication channel extending through the base member from the top side to the bottom side. Scrubber members are connected to the top side of the base member astride the communication channel. A bottle connector is attached to the bottom side of the base member for connecting the scrubber attachment to the spray bottle. The scrubber attachment of the invention permits a surface to be treated with a liquid spray and scrubbed with scrubber members by using a one-handed operation. The bottle connector includes a flexible, tubular, connector sleeve placed in registration with the communication channel. The connector sleeve may be connected to the base member by a rotatable connection.

Abstract: A brush for applying a given kind of material is disclosed. The brush has an operative portion consisting of a tube split along at least one generatrix and containing at least one insert surrounded by flexible filaments held in place by means of a sleeve, and the free ends of the filaments project out of the slit in the tube to form the brush bristles. The brush enables, inter alia, the application of mascara onto eyelashes.

A closure valve snap fits onto the flow cap and thereafter threadably rotates about the flow cap between a closed and an open position. In a normally open position, the closure valve permits a fluid flow path between the reservoir and the applicator tip. In a normally closed position, the closure valve interrupts the fluid flow path.

This twist-up dispensing device includes a hollow housing defining a chamber having an open dispensing end and an open actuating end having a interior surface. A piston located within the chamber being limited to translational movement within the chamber. The piston having a top side facing the dispensing end of the housing forming a variable volume portion of the chamber for storing the product. The piston also having a threaded rod extending therefrom opposite the top side. An actuator having a threaded aperture therethrough that engages the interior surface at the actuating end of the housing is also provided. The threaded aperture is concentric in the actuator and the actuator is adapted to rotate with respect to the housing in only one direction.

Abstract: A brush curved having a brush head with a central portion from which extend two arm or wing portions. The wing portions extend away from the central portion at a separation angle of approximately 70.degree. to 90.degree., and preferably 75.degree. to 85.degree., and more preferably at an angle of 80.degree.. Extension of the wings away from a common side of the central portion forms a curved pocket or cup cleaning channel at one edge of the bristles or sponge-like material of the brush. This cleaning channel serves to funnel dirty water away from the contoured surface of an automobile being cleaned. Water is swept across the contoured surface, making drying of the contoured surface less of a chore.

Abstract: A brush applicator for use with a container for a fluid product and the combination with a container with a dispensing opening for a fluid product. The dispensing opening may be a spout, and the brush applicator has a brush body with bristles and a cap for surrounding the dispensing opening. There are first threads on the container and second threads in the brush applicator with these threads part of a valve structure wherein the tightening of the threads effects a fluid seal between the cap and the dispensing opening, and loosening the threads allows variable fluid flow from the container into the brush applicator. The brush applicator being securable to the cap and being capable of being snapped on and off the container by deformation of at least one of the cooperating threads. A method of making the complete brush applicator is also disclosed by shipping only the caps to the manufacturer of the brush applicator.

Abstract: A flow-through brush fluid dispensing container comprising a squeeze bottle for holding a liquid therein, having a combine manual and automatic mechanism for venting air into the container. A removable elongated stem extends from the bottle for transferring the contents therein therethrough. A plurality of bristles are provided at a distal free end of the stem, for receiving the liquid squeezed from the bottle through the stem, so that the bristles can apply the liquid onto various articles and surfaces.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for dispensing fluid from a container. The apparatus includes a conduit, a brush head and a coupling. The conduit is operable to be placed in fluid communication with the container. The brush head has bristles, a fluid receiving opening for receiving the fluid and a fluid dispersing opening in communication with the fluid receiving opening for dispersing the fluid amongst the bristles. The coupling is operable to be placed in fluid communication with the conduit and cooperates with the brush head such that the brush head is movably secured to the coupling and moveable between first and second positions relative to the coupling. The coupling has a plug operable to plug the fluid receiving opening to prevent fluid from flowing from the conduit into the fluid receiving opening when the brush head is in the first position and to permit fluid to flow from the conduit into the fluid receiving opening when the brush head is in the second position.

Abstract: A disposable toothbrush apparatus is provided having a head, a bristle cluster extending from the head and a hollow handle for defining a toothpaste storage chamber connected to the head. A manually actuatable pump assembly mounted for axial displacement at the distal end of the handle storage chamber is adapted to cause a predetermined amount of toothpaste in the chamber to be fed via a conduit to a nozzle opening in a surface of the head at the base of the bristle cluster. In an alternative embodiment, a refillable cartridge containing a fresh supply of toothpaste and the self-contained pump assembly is adapted to be fitted to the hollow handle.

Abstract: The cleaning device includes a squeeze-bottle with a spout and a brush extending from the spout. A flow restrictor prevents cleaning fluid from being dispersed from the spout to the brush until the bottle is squeezed. The flow restrictor is formed simply by inserting the twisted wire handle of the brush into a tube forming the outlet of the spout. The length of the tube and the twisted wire can be selected to give the desired amount of flow restriction. The device is particularly well adapted for use in cleaning solder flux and other undesirable substances from printed circuit boards after they have been assembled. The cleaning device is relatively compact, inexpensive to make, and simple to use.

Abstract: An applicator device for high or low viscosity liquids essentially comprises a container (R) having a plunger (2) which can be operated by turning a rod (3), whereby the liquid in the container is squeezed out into an applicator brush (4). Between these ends, it passes through the plunger (2) and is in engagement therewith via a screw thread (3c). Said rod (3) is rotated by a ratchet wheel (10) controlled by a side push-button (6). The applicator device allows a viscous product such as nail varnish to be delivered, for example to a brush.

The grooves increase in width from the first end to the second end. A container has a parametric wing. A strip is removably attached to the parametric wing. The parametric wing and the strip are received in the at least one pair of grooves. The strip comprises an elongated sheet of material that is folded over upon itself and includes an end portion which projects beyond the first end of the handle.

Abstract: A dentifrice dispensing toothbrush is described which utilizes a compressible elastic button to pump a controlled quantity of dentifrice material from a replaceable cartridge to the brush head. The toothbrush locks itself to prevent further pumping of dentifrice material when its replaceable cartridge is nearly empty. The self locking mechanism eliminates the formation of voids in the dentifrice material and consequent pump failure when the spent cartridge is replaced. In one embodiment, a cover is provided which protects the brush head, bristles, pumping mechanism and other parts of the toothbrush. The cover also seals the conduit which supplies dentifrice material to the brush head to prevent it from becoming clogged with dried dentifrice material during periods of non use and to prevent accidental compression of the button.

Abstract: A liquid applicator structure which has an application tip fixed to front end of a cylindrical body and a liquid supply assembly built in its rear end. The liquid supply assembly includes a rotatable rod composed of a cylindrical shank-and-operating end and a solid rod having male threads thereon. The rotatable rod is held with an anti-rotation member having a cantilever-like extension. A split slide member having two split extensions is engaged with the rotatable rod at its rear end. One of these split extensions is inserted within the cantilever-like extension of the anti-rotation member and the rotatable rod, thereby preventing the split slide member from rotating. A piston member abuts on the split slide member. Rotation of the rotatable rod causes the split slide member and the piston to advance and drive liquid toward the application tip.

Abstract: An applicator for volatile, highly viscous fluids has the following features:Protruding into the mouth of a pressure-sensitive, expandable tank containing a fluid solution, there is a narrow diameter brush point pipe, and, around the outer circumference of the brush point pipe, thrusting out beyond its end, there is a tubular brush point. This is the main body. Set atop the main body is a cap which covers the brush point. The interior of this cap is provided with a solvent receptacle. When the cap is closed over the main body, there are provided within the cap a vapor space which is filled with vaporized solvent from the solvent receptacle, and a columnar plug which dovetails within the brush point pipe after passing through the hollow part of the brush point, which is inserted into the vapor space.

Abstract: A squeezeable container for holding and dispensing decontaminating powder is disclosed. The squeezeable container comprises a brush assembly and gripping means. The brush assembly is attached to the top section of the container in a screw-like manner, and comprises a brush formed of bristles which have a portion that is heat set so as to be held together in a semi-rigid manner. The bristles are arranged to form a reservoir within the brush assembly. The reservoir has an exit section closed off by the semi-rigid bristles, and an entrance section closed off by a plug member. The gripping means has a first end attached to the plug member and a second end extending out of the semi-rigid bristles. The pulling of the gripping means removes the plug from the dispenser and opens the brush reservoir. A squeezing action of the container puffs the powder within the container into the brush reservoir, and movement of brush dispenses the powder over any designed contaminated area.

Abstract: A particulate material dispensing assembly comprises a container for storing particulate material and includes an end cap device having a passageway for discharging the particulate material. The end cap device is disposed at a discharge end of the container and includes a removably mounted brush. The container includes a base section, a delivery section and a collapsible resilient coupling section connecting the base section to the delivery section.

Abstract: A dispenser for the application of a fluid or fluid-like material to another surface, such as, the surface of the skin is made up of an outer casing with an adjustable end cap at one end and an applicator brush at the opposite end, and a bellows-shaped container is disposed in the casing so as to be compressed by inward threaded adjustment of the end cap to discharge the material onto the applicator brush. A duckbill valve at the discharge end of the container automatically opens when a compressive force is applied to the contents within the container and, when force is no longer applied, will return to a closed position sealing off the end of the container.

Abstract: A device for applying a powdery material, suitably make-up, comprising a casing (4) containing a powdery material reservoir (6) mounted displaceably with respect to the casing (4) and dismountably integral with an intermediate part (22) which is integral with an obturation element (16) forming valve (18).
