  • Patent number: 8534944
Abstract: Various multicolor writing tools and methods for applying multiple volatile marking substances one at a time. The tool includes a case member, a cartridge member, a cap member, and an optional actuator member. The case member forms an interior in which is disposed the cartridge member with multiple cartridges each containing one of the marking substances and a tip through which the marking substance is applied. The cap member changes and restores its configuration, while the actuator member changes the configuration and exposes one of the tips selected by an user out of the interior when the tool is in use, and then restores the configuration and encloses all of the tips inside the interior when not in use. The pen with double pen barrels includes two pen barrels connected in parallel, a pen refill in each pen barrel, and a driving member disposed between the two pen barrels. When one of the pen barrels is pressed and moved downward, a pen refill extends out of a front end of the pen barrel, located to be in writing state. Then by releasing a stopper of the pen barrel, the pen barrel moves upward and the pen refill retracts to be in storage state. Thus the pen barrel and the pen refill extends and contracts synchronously. Moreover, interests in use of the pen are increased.

Abstract: A writing implement with three or more non-coaxial optionally selectable writing tips to produce lines of different thicknesses and to create unique and distinct "outlining" or "highlighting" effects. It is particularly adapted to be used on fibrous or felt tip type highlighter markers, but could be used on a variety of writing implements. The Meriting implement is comprised of a hollow low body supporting a fixed writing tip, a reservoir in the body holding a supply of ink, a series of two or more retractable tips slidably arranged alongside the fixed tip and adjusting means attached to each retractable tip to axially move each retracting tip to first and second operating positions, so that when moved to and locked in the first operative position, each retractable tip is extended with respect to the fixed tip, and when moved to and locked in the second operative position, each retractable tip is retracted with respect to the fixed tip.

Abstract: A hand writing instrument is provided with a built-in stamp (51) and built-in stamp pad (36). The stamp (51) and stamp pad (36) are respectively provided in carriers (50, 38) which are pivotally mounted on a mounting shaft (32) in such a manner that, in the rest position, the stamp (51) and stamp pad (36) lie against each other. In the working position, the stamp carrier (50) is pivoted about a position perpendicular to the mounting shaft (32) under the influence of a spring (52). Similarly, the stamp pad carrier (38) is pivoted about an approximately perpendicular position under the influence of a spring (42). The stamp carrier (50) and the stamp pad carrier (38) are movable between a stamp position and a rest position via a cap (18) which is displaceable axially with respect to the mounting shaft (32).

  • Patent number: 6090438
Abstract: A method of applying an athletic mat to a base surface comprises the steps of spreading a layer of rubber particles on the base surface. Although there may be some preparation (e.g., cleaning, material removal, etc.) of the base surface before the first layer of rubber particles is spread thereon, the first layer of rubber particles is applied without the necessity of a tack coating or primer layer. A first layer of binder is applied over the previously spread layer of rubber particles, with the binder having a viscosity to at least partially permeate through the layer of rubber particles. Accordingly, the first layer of rubber particles is bonded to the underlying surface when the first layer of binder dries. A separate, second layer of binder is applied over the first layer of binder preferably while the latter is still wet.

A substantially U-shaped guiding recess is defined in the elongate housing by two side walls and a bottom wall and is located above the receiving passage. An opening is defined in the bottom wall defining the guiding recess and communicates with the receiving passage. A pencil is slidably received in the receiving passage and a control member is slidably mounted in the guiding recess and is securely engaged with one end portion of the pencil for moving the pencil.

The link hook pulls an operating unit, and its position can be reset by a reset spring. The operating unit is joined with a pushing piece which is located in a housing to push on the inside of the moving unit and cause the outside of the moving unit to swing. Or it can simultaneously drive an interior moving part to move, so the various figure patterns on the interior moving part will match the through holes on the housing. Such a construction is designed to create different changing effects, adding more fun to the animated effects.

Abstract: In a multiplex writing instrument, a plurality of writing elements including at least one mechanical pencil are provided in a barrel body and are respectively urged rearward by resilient members, and the writing elements are arranged so that a selected writing element is projected from the barrel body when a pressure member secured to a rear end of the selected writing element is made to move forward. The mechanical pencil comprises an external member connected to a corresponding pressure member, and a lead feeding mechanism disposed inside the external member, and a knock member for operating the lead feeding mechanism is disposed on the corresponding pressure member. In another mode, the mechanical pencil comprises an external member non-rotatably connected to a corresponding pressure member, and a lead feeding mechanism disposed inside the external member. A knock member for operating the lead feeding mechanism is disposed on the corresponding pressure member, and the external member is a flexible member.
