Hand-or Finger Loop Or Strap Patents (Class 401/8)
  • Patent number: 4596481
Abstract: A sheet assembly for polishing work is provided. A non-woven fabric sheet and a non-permeable thick sheet are bonded together to define a first chamber. Further, a second chamber to contain a shoe polish therein is defined within said first chamber by a non-permeable but easily rupturable film such as a polyethylene sheet. The non-woven fabric sheet or the non-permeable thick sheet is formed with apertures therein. The shoe polish contained in the second chamber is discharged therefrom and further through the apertures to the outside of the sheet assembly when manually pressed from outside such that the shoe polish is ready for application onto shoes such that the shoes are shined by use of the non-woven fabric portion.

  • Patent number: 4349288
Abstract: Disclosed are personal cleansing articles for the recto-genital region, and offering especial convenience to travelers and others without ready access to dressing rooms and conventional bathing facilities. The articles generally comprise a laminar washcloth member, there being below the hydrophilic uppersurface thereof a liquid chargeable laminar-pouch with the pouch-throat being preferably relegated to the washcloth uppersurface that washably contacts the recto-genital anatomy. The user's outstretched hand, with the thumb extending into a thumbway component, supports the washcloth member; thus, this hand controllably expels cleansing liquid from the laminar-pouch toward the contacted recto-genital anatomy. There are desireably hand-engaging means (preferably offering fingertips protection) and hydrophobic barrier means between the laminar-pouch and the hand-engaging means. Foldably extending towel member, as well as other optional and interdependent features are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4232671
Abstract: A safety eyewash has an eyewash liquid in a container that has two flexible plastic sheets that are sealed around the bottom and end margins and are sealed at the top margin after the liquid is placed in the container. One of the sheets has two sets of holes that are covered by a removable strip of liquid-impervious material secured on that sheet. The size of the holes is such that there is no substantial passage of the liquid through the holes after the strip has been removed until the container is subjected to a compressive force that results in streams of liquid passing out of the holes. The spacing between the centers of the sets of holes is an interpupillary distance. A hand strap can be mounted on the other plastic sheet.

  • Patent number: 4187575
Abstract: A combination hand washer and back scrubber, comprising an elongated strip of fabric, having two lateral edges, transverse, expansible strips attached to a first side of said fabric strip, each transverse strip extending substantially the entire width of said fabric strip, said transverse, expansible strips including sponge strips and abrasive strips aligned on said first side in an alternating manner, a water absorbent strip attached to an opposite second side of said fabric strip, said water absorbent strip being non-abrasive to skin, and a transverse elastic hand strap of elongated dimension, attached at opposite ends to said respective lateral edges of said fabric strip at approximately the midpoints thereof to form a loop for retaining said fabric strip in a folded position and for allowing the hand of a person to fit within said loop to use said combination hand washer and back scrubber as a wash cloth.

  • Patent number: 4165896
Abstract: An instrument holder for use on a disabled hand including a band being adapted to encircle the hand, the band having an instrument holding device adapted to support an instrument so as to extend from the holding device adjacent the forefinger, a latch within the holding device to removably secure an instrument therein, and expansible structure forming a part of the band to permit the band size to be varied according to the size of the hand.

  • Patent number: 4148424
Abstract: The holder for a writing instrument provides a band adapted to completely encircle the person's hand about the palm area. A portion of the band is formed into a loop to define a writing instrument receptacle adapted to hold a writing instrument. When the band is attached about the palm area and appropriately adjusted, the writing instrument receptacle will hold the instrument with its major axis generally in line with the plane defined by the person's palm, the band and receptacle being sufficiently flexible to permit the instrument to be turned somewhat and comfortably held in the normal writing position between the person's fingers. Preferably the band is elastic and adjustable to fit the palm of different size hands, and the loop is defined by a clip that permits tension in the band to be transmitted to the loop and its size thereby adjusted automatically upon being placed about the person's palm to securely hold a writing instrument.

  • Patent number: 4127338
Abstract: Disclosed is a holder for a writing instrument, the holder comprising a forward cylindrical gripping section and a rearward support section. The support section tapers outwardly and curves upwardly and is of such length that it nests comfortably against and is supported by the inner surface of the index finger of the user while not interfering with normal finger contact on the gripping section. During use, support of the instrument is effected primarily by this nesting between the support section and the index finger, whereby finger pressure on the gripping section may be reduced quite significantly, such pressure being required only for control or guidance of the writing point. The support section may also include wing segments forming a radially resilient band encircling the index finger of the user, the band not only lending further support for the instrument while in writing use but providing means for quickly and conveniently storing the instrument on the user's finger when not in use.

  • Patent number: 3959841
Abstract: Apparatus for use by a person for applying liquid preparations, such as lotions, creams, and the like, across portions of the body of such person is disclosed. The apparatus includes an integral elongated reticulated fabric folded along its major axis to form a body of double thickness so that one edge of the fabric along its length is characterized by the fold, and the opposite edge is characterized by overlapped bare terminations. The fabric has two spaced lines of transverse stitching centrally located so as to form a pocket. The fabric has longitudinal stitching along the bare terminations extending outwardly from the pocket. Loops are formed on opposite ends of the fabric by transverse stitching of folded-over ends of the fabric. A disposable pad, such as paper, is adapted to be inserted into the pocket.

  • Patent number: 3942194
Abstract: Two stiff discs are rotatably attached together in face-to-face contact, one of the discs having a ring of openings therein, and the other disc having a nipple positioned to engage and latch in the openings. An implement holder is attached to one of the discs and a strap is attached to the other disc for strapping the two discs and implement holder to a person's hand. By rotating the disc carrying the implement holder with respect to the other disc, and clamping it in the desired position, the implement holder can be oriented in the proper rotary position for use of a predetermined implement by the person. The implement can be a knife, fork, comb, tooth brush, or any other suitable implement. The discs can be strapped to the palm of the person's hand, to the back of the hand, or to the wrist.
