Abstract: An index tab for use in conjunction with computer paper includes a female jaw and a male jaw pivotally attached along a common edge such that they are movable between an open position and a closed position wherein projections from the male jaw extend through perforations along the margin of the computer paper and frictionally engage registered apertures in the female jaw. A tab section is attached to and extends from the common edge and extends outwardly from the margin of the computer paper.

Abstract: An elongated strip of sheet material is adapted to be attached along the bottom edge of a business card to convert the card to an index card suitable for filing in a card file, such as a rolodex, without having to punch holes in the business card. The elongated strip of sheet material has predetermined openings along one edge for attachment to a card file and an adhesive coating along the opposite edge thereof for attachment to the business card. A strip of adhesive covering material covers the adhesive.

Abstract: A folder has a base sheet including a base tab portion on one outside edge. An overlapping sheet extends over an inside surface of the base sheet to provide a pocket between the overlapping sheet and one part of the inside surface of the base sheet. The overlapping sheet includes an overlapping tab portion which extends over the base tab portion to provide a plural thickness tab. At least part of the overlapping tab portion is affixed to the base sheet to provide a pocket with at least one closed lateral edge. The base sheet also includes a flap portion extending therefrom, which flap portion is folded into overlying relationship with another inside surface of the base sheet. The flap portion includes an area having the shape of a rotary file card which may be detached from the folder to provide a rotary file card.

Abstract: An instruction manual as a plurality of chapters, each chapter having a plurality of sections, the pages of the chapters being arranged in a first binder of a different size. At least one of the sections of the chapters comprises a personal reference section made up of pages of different size than the pages of the other sections of the chapters, and containing practical operational information concerning a feature of the equipment to which the instruction manual is directed. The pages of the different size personal reference section of the chapters are selectively removably received in the first binder. A second binder, a personal reference binder, is provided, which is of a size to accept the selectively removed personal reference section pages, and being of a size different from the size of the first binder. A common Table of Contents and a common Index are provided for both of the first and second binders, and refer to the pages in both the first and second binders.

Abstract: A portable index card holder is designed for carrying in notebooks or simply carrying by itself. The holder comprises a flexible member approximately the size of a notebook page having secured to its front surface a plurality of transparent sheets in an overlapping array between the top and bottom of the supporting member. These transparent sheets each includes small strip overlays defining front and rear pockets for receiving and supporting the lower marginal edge of an index card in such a manner that any one card can easily be inspected by simply lifting up the sheets above the same. The transparent feature permits reading both the front and rear sides of an index card without having to remove the same from the transparent sheet and holding member. Further, several such members can readily be inserted in a notebook such as a 3-ring binder for organizing many different cards in conjunction with other items.

Abstract: To register a sheet within a plane, a sheet registration means is provided comprising a flap formed on the sheet for resiliently biasing registration edge elements of the sheet against fixed locating pins. A total of no more and no less than three registration edge elements of the sheet are engaged by the locating pins to provide exact location of the sheet in its proper orientation within the plane.

Abstract: This invention relates to an improved design associated with an album whose appearance evidences that of prebound construction and the method for the fabricating thereof such that there is able to be created an album of as many pages as desired, each page capable of being interlocked by means of an interconnecting spinal component affixed as part of each and every page such that upon the interconnecting of said spinal members of each and every page, there is achieved the appearance of a prebound album along with having the structural integrity of same but which has in fact the capability of being selectively assembled to any desired number of pages. Additionally, each page is constructed so as to permit the insertion on to each surface thereof an item to be displayed, be it a picture, or otherwise, such that there is achieved as an overall appearance as to each and every page an aesthetically appealing display along with a consistently uniform flat surface.

Abstract: A binder assembly comprises a binder and leaves which are randomly removable therefrom. The leaves may be removed only by a sidewise shifting movement. Blocking portions are movably mounted on the device selectively to permit or prohibit sidewise movement of the leaves.

Abstract: A sheet protector formed of upper and lower layers of substantially transparent plastic material. A pair of complementary tabs each laterally extending from the edges of the respective layers are integrally formed therewith. Heat sealing is utilized for securing together at least some of the peripheries of the layers as well as the matching tabs. An opening is provided to define in combination with the layers a receiving pocket whereby a sheet may be inserted in the pocket. A looseleaf type binder is provided for holding a plurality of the sheet protectors. The tab positions of the respective sheet protectors in the binder are sequentially indexed with respect to each other to provide a set of position selectable sheet protectors.

Abstract: Coded data imprinted in close spaced relation on data sheets retained within a loose leaf binder is selectively marked through cutout openings in a transparent overlay mask. The mask is positioned in proper alignment over each of the data sheets by means of aligning slots through which at least two of the binder rings project.

Abstract: This invention relates to looseleaf binder sheets, and more particularly to looseleaf binder sheets having the capability of being both securely retained in the binder from removal in response to forces acting in one direction, while also being easily removed against the binder when withdrawn in an alternate direction.

Abstract: A reinforcement for a corner mounting hole in a sheet of paper is disclosed. The reinforcement comprises a corner shaped pocket member made of paper or other similar material. The pocket includes a front wall and a back wall, each of which is coated on its inside surface with a layer of a moisture activated adhesive. Each wall further includes a hole which is located so as to be in registration with the corner mounting hole in the sheet of paper when the corner shaped pocket member is mounted onto the corner of the sheet. In using the reinforcement, the inside surfaces of the front and back walls are first moistened. The pocket is then slidably mounted onto the corner of the sheet of paper and then fixed in place with the holes in registration with the mounting hole to be reinforced. The reinforcement is especially useful in repairing or reinforcing the corner mounting holes in sheets of computer printout paper.

Abstract: A fastening means for attaching documents and other items to the wire binder of notebooks, tablets and the like is disclosed. The fastener comprises a plurality of tabs positioned adjacently such that they form a notch which opens on and provides access to an aperture in which the wire binder is retained upon insertion of the fastening means into a notebook or similar wire bound medium. The opening between the notch and aperture formed by the tabs is smaller than the diameter of the wire forming the binder. In one embodiment the tabs are formed with a bulbous head. In another embodiment the head is formed with at least one oblique side and the neck is formed with at least one arcuate side.

Abstract: An office file paper fastener device system for indexing papers, each of which includes a card that is attachable by a first set of holes to a file folder and having a separate set of holes for attaching a connector upon which a bundle of file papers may be connected. Each bundle of the file papers are attached to its respective fastener device and card independently of the first set of holes by which the card is attached to the file folder, a hole-making fastener device. Several cards may be attached to a single file folder connector. The paper fastener device system provides an indexing system that allows removal of the cards without removing each bundle of file papers from the connector on the respective card. The system thereby eliminates removal of all the contents filed in superposition to the file folder to remove a particular piece of paper.

Abstract: A foldable posting board has a plurality of hingedly connected panels. Resilient wire loop bindings connected to the panels extend along side edges of the panels and define vertical columns of mounting posts which project through and cooperate with apertures in a record sheet to retain the sheet in a predetermined position relative to the panels. Apertured forms received on the posts are retained in overlying registry with the record sheet. One of the bindings forms a hinge for the panels.

Abstract: This book is made in sections with blank pages of each section divided from those of other sections by separators that are made of heavier paper than the blank pages of the sections. The separators have tabs extending from the vertical edges of the separators and for limited portions of the height of the vertical edges of each of the separators at the upper portions of the vertical edges. Pockets are formed by panels of the separators, the pockets preferably being formed on opposite sides of each separator. The pockets are wider than the horizontal width of the pages so that pages torn from the book between separators can be placed in the pockets, preferably without folding the pages.

Abstract: A device for storing documents is provided with a flat rectangular member. A rectangular strip is disposed above and overlies one side of one surface of said member. A plurality of posts are employed, said posts being disposed between and secured to said strip and said member in spaced apart positions. A flexible rectangular sheet has at least one section having on one side thereof a like plurality of notches. Each notch is aligned with and detachably engages a corresponding post. The section can have a pocket for storing documents therein.

Abstract: This invention relates to the field of bookkeeping equipment and specifically to the area of modular fiscal year account books, wherein the user is provided with a self contained account ledger insert, which will accommodate all of the entries for a fiscal year, and will contain a complete record of business transactions for auditing and accounting purposes.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for automatically applying reinforcing tabs to sheets in a loose-leaf binder includes a projecting tab guide sized to fit within a ring of the loose-leaf binder and adapted to apply a reinforcing tab between the edge of the sheet and a hole in the sheet through which the ring passes. Pressure-sensitive adhesive-back reinforcing tabs are separated from the carrier strip as the strip passes around a deflecting edge adjacent to an end of the tab guide. An inclined pressure foot presses the separated tab onto the sheet to attach it thereto.

Abstract: A container for marking instruments comprises a support strip having a plurality of pockets attached to a carrier so as to interact with other pockets on another support strip for the purpose of securing the marking instruments neatly in place when not in use.

Abstract: The business information is carried in a field having the area of a standard business card, e.g. 2 .times. 31/2 inches, on a larger card, e.g. 3 .times. 5 inches. Perforations or markings provided on the card predetermine where areas of the large card are to be severed from the remainder to size the resulting card for use with any of several card filing systems. By preference, a plurality of parallel ones of the perforations or markings and an adjacent edge are bordered with generally T-shaped slots so the resulting card may be filed on standard roll, wheel and arched tray-type index card holders of a plurality of different size formats.
