  • Patent number: 4570987
Abstract: The invention involves a swivel eyebolt of the type which relies on a threaded stud to anchor a bonnet and accompanying ring to a load allowing the bonnet 360.degree. or rotation. Of special consequence is the structure which features a bushing applied around the exposed part of the stud and held in place by the head of the stud so that a flange on the bushing engages the load. The bonnet in turn is clamped rotatably on the bushing so that the bonnet in fact rotates about the bushing as well as about the stud.

  • Patent number: 4561797
Abstract: A pair of knuckles each including a base element and a pair of transversely spaced longitudinally extending lugs on the base element. The lugs on each knuckle are pivoted in a pair of lugs secured to the frame of one of the leading and trailing equipment units, the two knuckles being positioned on relatively transversely positioned axes. The knuckles are interconnected by a longitudinal pin extending through the base elements, the longitudinal pin being dimensioned to enable longitudinal play between the knuckles, and relative angular movement therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4534568
Abstract: An archery arrow includes a tubular aluminum housing attached in an opening in the leading end of an aluminum arrow shaft. A hard insert with a plurality of thin, circular, annular, peripheral ridges is rotatably disposed in the housing, the smooth interior surface of the housing and the smooth surfaces of the ridges providing a very low friction bearing. The insert includes a threaded opening for receiving the threaded end of a stud of a broad blade arrowhead. During flight, the shaft spins rapidly due to offset fletching on the trailing end of the arrow, but the broad blade arrowhead spins relatively little, thereby avoiding windplaning of the arrow, and also substantially increasing penetration of the arrowhead into a target.

  • Patent number: 4347557
Abstract: A swivel joint assembly comprises a first arm member having a first end joint on one end. The end joint has an arcuate groove thereon. A second arm member has a second end joint on one end. The second joint has stop structure thereon for limiting rotational movement of said swivel joint to approximately 360.degree.. A swivel structure provides rotational movement between the first and second end joints. The swivel structure includes a fastener for securing the first and second end joints to each other. The stop element protrudes into the arcuate groove and a stop shoulder on the arcuate groove co-acts with the stop element to limit rotational movement of the swivel joint.

  • Patent number: 4311405
Abstract: There is disclosed a new and improved swivel connector assembly of the type which pivotally connects a ball-like member to a rod-like member. The connector includes a coupler having a pair of sockets. One of the sockets having a bearing seat adapted for receiving and confining a pivot-like ball therein and the other socket adapted for receiving and capturing an end of the rod-like member. The coupler is slotted for permitting enlargement of the sockets to enable insertion of the end of the rod-like member into one of the sockets and insertion of the ball-like member into the bearing seat of the other socket. The connector further includes a sleeve adapted to be received over one end of the coupler in an initial position and rotatable relative thereto to a final position.

  • Patent number: 4268055
Abstract: A fork assembly for use in removably mounting a pair of bicycle fork tubes having longitudinally extending upper and lower brackets on a fork mounting tube of a bicycle frame comprising an inner tube rotatably mounted within the fork mounting tube and a rod extending through the inner tube. The brackets have rearwardly extending slots through which the rod passes to engage the fork assembly. A lower spool on the rod is adapted to engage the under side of the lower bracket and an upper spool on the rod is adapted to engage the under side of the upper bracket. The spools are movable longitudinally with the rod within the inner tube. Spring means within the inner tube yieldingly urges the spools into engagememt with the brackets.

  • Patent number: 4247217
Abstract: A side opening rope swivel socket assembly for connecting various tools to a drilling cable in wells allows an operator to quickly and conveniently change from one tool to another, for example, from a swabbing tool for tubing to a swabbing tool for casing, without the necessity for cutting and resetting the sand line or cable for each such operation. To avoid interfering with fishing tool operations and to avoid damaging the locking nut of the socket assembly at these times, the locking nut is placed well below the wickers of the swivel or mandrel and is enlarged in diameter sufficiently to pass over the swivel when it is desired to use the swivel alone. A great savings of time is effected in change-over operations in comparison to the prior art.

  • Patent number: 4076346
Abstract: A pair of relatively rotatable face-to-face metal swivel plates centrally secured together adjacent the common center axis and arranged along their respective margins for respective securement to an article and the base. A continuous circular V-shaped bearing race is formed in one metal plate to extend concentrically about the center axis and spaced a substantial distance therefrom. A frictionless plastic bearing material is not only interposed between the metal plates with its opposite sides engaging opposite plates for bearing and spacing purposes but is also curved arcuately to conform to the circular curvature of the race. One side of that material is V-shaped to extend into and conform to the V-shape of said race sufficiently along the length of the race for centering one plate. The opposite side of that same material and the other metal plate mutually cooperate to provide complementary centering means.
