The fastener is particularly well-suited to releasably join long, slender articles that must be precisely aligned to function properly, such as a hunter's longbow, billiard cues, furniture, etc.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2005Date of Patent: November 13, 2007Inventor: Craig A. Patent number: 7241095Abstract: A hollow dowel pin adapted to secure together at least two mating components during the assembly thereof includes an elongate generally cylindrical main body portion, first and second mating edges, and at least one outwardly extending tab. The elongate generally cylindrical main body portion is preferably formed from a sheet member, and the first and second mating edges are disposed along a length of the body portion being spaced from one another. The at least one outwardly extending tab is formed along the main body portion and is adapted to engage one of the mating components when an end of the main body portion is frictionally held in an opening formed in the other of the mating components.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2005Date of Patent: July 10, 2007Assignee: Driv-Lok, Inc.Inventor: Michael Apsey

Patent number: 7037027Abstract: A connection arrangement accommodates misalignments in three dimensions, and achieves a positive fixed connection between two components. A threaded standoff with a first bolt hole therein is partially screwed into a threaded hole in the first component and protrudes to match the spacing distance between the components. Inner and outer eccentric disks are received and supported in a hole in the second component. The inner disk has an offset center relative to the outer disk, and has a second bolt hole offset from the inner disk's center. Rotating the two disks accommodates radial misalignments to bring the two bolt holes into alignment. A bolt shaft extends through the bolt holes. While a bolt head or nut at one end of the shaft bears against the eccentric disks, a clamping cone at the opposite end of the shaft is tightened to axially clamp the standoff against the second component, and to radially outwardly spread and clamp the standoff against the internal threading of the first hole in the first component.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 2004Date of Patent: May 2, 2006Assignee: Airbus Deutschland GmbHInventor: Herbert Steinbeck

Patent number: 6990780Abstract: The present invention relates to a mounting structure which is arranged at two abutting structural panels (1, 2) so that said structural panels are connected with each other, comprising two pairs of clamping plates, with one of said pairs of clamping plates being fixed to one structural panel (1), and the other pair of clamping plates being fixed to the other structural panel (2). The two pairs of clamping plates abut against each other with one of their clamping plates (3, 4), and the two abutting clamping plates (3, 4) are provided with mutually aligned, undercut longitudinal slots (5) which receive a connecting plate (6) connecting the abutting two clamping plates (3, 4) with each other and being fixed to the two clamping plates (3, 4) by means of fasteners (7) which extend through said connecting plate (6). Thus, a mounting structure is provided whose manufacture is relatively easy and cost-efficient.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 2004Date of Patent: January 31, 2006Assignee: Casma S.p.A.Inventor: Mirko Marinoni

Patent number: 6964408Abstract: A cable adjustment tool includes an upper bar and a lower bar each having a top side, a bottom side, a first end and a second end. The first end of the upper bar has a slot extending therein for receiving a first of a pair of lug nuts. The first end of the lower bar has an indentation extending therein for receiving a second of the lug nuts. A threaded rod is attached to and extends between upper and lower bars such that the indentation and the slot are substantially aligned. The rod has a break therein. A sleeve has a threaded bore extending therethrough that has first half having a first direction of threads and a second half having a second direction of threads. The rod is threadably coupled to the sleeve. Rotation of the sleeve moves the upper and lower bars with respect to each other.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 2003Date of Patent: November 15, 2005Inventor: Louis Scalfari
