  • Patent number: 6692180
Abstract: A connecting element of a lamp tube comprises a retaining block, a joint, a resisting block and a buffer pad. The distal end of the joint is installed with a threaded section. The middle section of the joint has an embedding portion. Thereby, the resisting block is exactly passed through by the threaded portion of the joint and a lateral side of the embedding portion of the joint is formed with a limiting groove. The resisting block has a position hole at position exactly aligned with the limiting groove. After a pin passes through the positioning hole, a distal end of the pin exactly protrudes into the limiting groove. The buffer pad is positioned between a large stepped end and the resisting block so that a resisting buffering area is formed between the joint and the resisting block. • Patent number: 6530715
Abstract: An apparatus and method for adding a velocity transducer to an electric motor, such as an elevator drive motor, includes mounting a shaft extension on an end surface of a motor shaft by drilling and tapping a bore at the shaft center as parallel as possible. A fastener with a bevel washer between a pair of flat washers attaches the extension to the motor shaft. With the fastener assembly snug, the extension is trued radially with a dial indicator. The bevel washer functions as a spring lock and distributes any off center clamping force produced from non-concentric hole drilling. A shoulder on the extension abuts the motor shaft end surface to maintain parallelism of the longitudinal axes of the shaft extension and the motor shaft. The shaft extension can be formed of an electrically nonconductive material to isolate the transducer from the drive equipment.

The fiberglass sections are connected to each other by way of connectors at each end of the sections. The connectors are made of brass so that they can easily be attached to the fiberglass section ends by impressed dimples. one of the connectors is a female connector having a cylindrical recess therein. The other connector is made up in the same way but a threaded male stud is inserted therein and securely and permanently fastened therein. The male stud has a shore hardness considerably greater than the sleeve material. The upper plug portion has upper, middle and lower sections, whereas the lower plug portion has upper, middle and lower segments. The upper section of the upper plug portion is rigidly attached to the connecting finger on the spider structure, whereas the lower segment of the lower plug portion is rigidly connected to the control rod. Also, the lower section of the upper plug portion and the middle segment of the lower plug portion have complementary threads defined thereon for rigidly threadably attaching the upper and lower plug portions to one another.

  • Patent number: 4913578
Abstract: A connection arrangement with profiled parts contains, in at least one hollow chamber in a profiled part, a connecting element by means of which a connection with the other profile part is effected. The purpose of the invention is to provide, at low manufacturing cost, a reliable connection and to eliminate any after-treatment of surfaces in the vicinity of the connection. It is proposed that the connecting element be secured to the web of the first profiled part and that a length thereof projects, prior to welding, beyond the front surface; and that, after welding, the weld-zone be arranged in the hollow-chamber in the second profiled part and be at a distance from the adjacent front surfaces of the profiled parts.

Abstract: The invention provides a piston and cylinder unit comprising a piston adapted to be displaced in the axial direction, a piston rod arranged coaxially and connected with the piston on at least one axial face thereof and which extends through an associated cylinder end cover in a sealing and sliding manner. The section of the piston rod outside the piston are provided with load attachment means. The piston rod is tubular and defines a continuous bore extending essentially from one end of such rod to the other end thereof in the axial direction. The bore is provided at least at its end sections with a female threaded section. The piston end of the piston rod is provided with a threaded part connected with the piston and in the opposite external end the male threaded section of a connecting part may be screwed with is adapted to be coupled with a load attachment means to be operated by said piston and cylinder unit.

Abstract: This invention relates to a novel anchor cone and winding cone apparatus and method for mounting a coil torsion spring to an overhead door. Indicia are provided on the cones to assure proper orientation of the cones to the spring and the cone/spring assembly to the overhead door. The winding cone includes arrow indicia to clearly indicate the direction of rotation for the winding cone to increase tension on the coil torsion spring. A groove break is provided in each cone to substantially reduce chafing and wear of the corresponding coil of the coil torsion spring.
