  • Patent number: 6910827
Abstract: A knob retainer system including a knob having a cavity and an opening into said cavity and a retainer adapted to fit within the knob cavity. The retainer includes wing portions and a cantilevered barbed portion. When the retainer is placed inside of the knob cavity and the actuating lever is manipulated between the retainer and an upper wall of the knob cavity, the actuating lever downwardly depresses the retainer thereby causing stakes located in the retainer to positively engage a portion of the cavity wall thereby preventing the retainer from moving with respect to the knob. The retainer is also fitted with a cantilevered portion which terminates in a barbed end. The barbed end positively engages an engagement surface on the actuating lever thereby preventing the actuating lever from pulling away from the knob/retainer assembly. The actuating lever is easily removed from the knob/retainer assembly by use of a specialized tool.

  • Patent number: 6903275
Abstract: A mounting device has a lock component attached to a wire harness shield and a bracket component for attachment to an engine part. The bracket component has two spaced, upright parallel arms defining an opening between them. The arms have free ends extending toward each other and separated by a gap. The lock component has a box-like shape with spaced sides. A deflectable section is formed in a first side. A stem extends from the deflectable section toward a second side of the lock component and through a slot in the second side. A push element is formed on an end of the stem extending from the slot. Latches or ledges are formed on ramp-shaped protrusions formed on the deflectable section on each side of the stem. When the lock component receives the parallel arms of the bracket component, the free ends of the arms act on the protrusions to force the deflectable section outward until the ledges snap beneath the free ends of the arms.

A post extends from the base in a direction perpendicular to the base. Disposed on the post is a tapered ledge. The ledge is tapered in a direction away from the base so that the ledge has a first surface at an angle relative to the base. The base may also include a cleat to prevent rotation of the retainer relative to the mating connectors. The cleat is preferably a linear strip extending from and along an edge of the base. The retainer may be used in an assembly including a connector, a mounting bracket and a mating connector.

Abstract: A joint for two flat structural members, in particular floor panels, wherein a groove and tongue joint joining two flat structural members is provided functionally separate from a twistlock locking the two flat structural members. The twistlock is formed on one of the structural members, is spaced apart from the groove and tongue joint, and engages with a correspondingly formed engaging element of the other structural member. The locking is preferably formed both at the longitudinal edges and at the front edges of a rectangular structural member, such as a floor panel. The locking allows for a joint of the floor panels to occur in flat position, i.e. without twisting.

Abstract: A system for fixing two components together includes: (a) a boss integrally formed from one component about a boss axis; and (b) a latch integrally formed from the other component in a depending extension facilitating latch movement in an engaging plane and exerting a spring force urging the latch toward a first position. The latch is oriented about a latch axis in the engaging plane. The latch is in the first position when the components are situated in an initial position with the latch axis and the boss axis separated a first distance. The latch axis and the boss axis are separated a second distance less than the first distance when the components are urged together to an installed orientation with the latch held from the first position by the boss bearing against the latch with the engaging plane crossing the boss axis.

Abstract: A fitting member is provided with a base having a flat portion, a stopper protruding forward from the base, and a through hole provided in a flat portion, wherein a knob has a plurality of projections positioned on the same circle. In fitting the knob to the fitting member, when the knob is rotated while being pressed backward in a state in which the projections are kept in contact with the flat portion, the projections slice on and in friction with a flat face, and when the projections hit against the stopper and the rotation of the knob is stopped, the projections and the through hole become opposite each other. After the projections are fitted into the through hole, the knob and the fitting member are enabled to be coupled to each other.

  • Patent number: 6676326
Abstract: A square lamp post insertional conjoinment structure comprised of a slip-mount tube and a casing tube fitted onto the slip-mount tube. The slip-mount tube has disposed at one end an internal binding sleeve and, furthermore, an insertional conjoinment section of a stepped arrangement is formed between the exterior of the internal binding sleeve and the interior of the slip-mount tube at two opposing sides and a spring is installed in each insertional conjoinment section. The casing tube has engagement blocks aligned with the springs. When the casing tube is fitted onto the slip-mount tube, its engagement blocks press inward against the springs to facilitate the sleeving on of the casing tube. After the casing tube engagement blocks have passed the springs, the springs rebound to their original positions, locking the casing tube onto the slip-mount tube and thereby achieving the fixed coupling of the casing tube and the slip-mount tube.
