  • Patent number: 4036307
Abstract: A plough share made of metal having at least two spaced tongues pressed out of the metal and projecting rearwardly at an angle, the two tongues being adapted to engage in complementary holes formed in the frog of a plough. The plough share also has holes therein, these being formed by the tongues being pressed outwardly therefrom. These holes are covered by a reinforcement plate, which is attached to the side of the plough share opposite to the side to which the frog is to be attached.

  • Patent number: 4031594
Abstract: Overlapping ends of metal strap, or the like, are aligned and connected without the aid of an overlying supplemental seal or fastener by means of an array of longitudinally spaced joints which form a one-way interlocking relationship. The joints comprise juxtaposed protuberances formed by slits in the strap ends, integral with the overlapping strap segments, which override each other as the interlocking relationship is formed. A protuberance in the array on one of the strap ends is formed to additionally function as an integral anti-disengagement stop. This protuberance has an upturned corner forming a protruding tongue which, upon shifting of the joined overlapping lengths of metal strap relative to each other in a direction tending to disengage the joints, abuts a portion of the protuberance in a corresponding slit of the other strap to provide a stop preventing disengagement.

  • Patent number: 4029437
Abstract: The invention concerns a turbine shaft having stepped bearings on which ds are shrunk on. It is characterized in that the connecting surface between two successive bearings consists of two conical portions separated by a cylindrical portion and toroidal connecting portions between the cylindrical portion and the conical portions. The invention reduces the concentrations of stresses and applies more particularly to elastic fluid turbine shafts.

  • Patent number: 4018538
Abstract: A cross arm hanger support is disclosed and adapted to be attached to a gym set pipe of 2 inch OD or 21/2 OD for suspending therefrom a hanger for a swing glider, pendulum seesaw, lawn glider, and the like. The support includes a cross arm and a clamp each of which have at least one set screw to prevent rotation of the support relative to the pipe. The cross arm is slit to provide for expansion of the same when it is applied to a 21/2 inch OD pipe.

  • Patent number: 3965991
Abstract: A manual cultivator tool including a handle, a U-shaped blade, a tubular member provided with spaced flattened end portions having similar intermediately disposed bends therein, and a pair of separate handle attaching elements assembled into a final construction in which the tubular member interengages with the free ends of the legs of the U-shaped blade to form a strong annular structure and the attaching elements provide for both connection with the handle and the annular structure in such a way as to effect a limited tilting movement of the horizontal earth penetrating blade portion of the annular structure.

  • Patent number: 3934918
Abstract: A load lifting band with an overload indicator includes a junction for strip material which is particularly useful for joining the ends of a strip of material so as to form a closed band for lifting heavy loads. The junction consists of a pair of overlapping sheet-like sections provided with interconnecting parts. The interconnecting parts each include a plurality of slits and corresponding sheet portions extending from the general plane of the respective section, the sheet portions of one of the sections each cooperating with a pair of slits in the other section so as to prevent separation of the sections in response to a force tending to move the same apart. The slits in each of the sections are divided into two sets each of which includes at least two groups of laterally spaced slits. The number of slits in one group is greater than that in the corresponding other group.
