Including Port Or Reservoir Communicating With Joint Patents (Class 403/37)
  • Patent number: 4572682
Abstract: A universal joint includes a transmission ring provided with two pairs of holes, a pair of rotating shafts whose integrally provided pins are slidably fitted into the corresponding holes and a lubricating ring fitted onto the transmission ring with a predetermined clearance therebetween to maintain a lubricant therein. Thus, the sliding engagement between the pins and the holes may be maintained lubricated at all times.

  • Patent number: 4572537
Abstract: A coupler for connecting a trailer to a tractor includes a main plate having a top surface and a bottom surface and formed with an oil groove on the top surface for a lubricant to flow therethrough, a pair of king pin locking jaws secured to the bottom surface of the main plate for pivotal movement in a horizontal plane to cooperate with each other to releasably hold a king pin therebetween, and a locking member located on the bottom surface of the main plate for sliding movement in which it is brought into and out of engagement with the jaws, to be inserted in a space defined by heads of the jaws when the king pin is held between the jaws to keep the jaws from pivotally moving.

  • Patent number: 4267903
Abstract: A hydraulically operated disk brake apparatus for a motor vehicle comprises a brake disk, a caliper-like brake housing disposed to straddle over the brake disk and having a pair of arms, and a pair of brake pad assemblies disposed in the brake housing in opposition to each other with the brake disk being interposed therebetween. The brake pad assemblies are movable toward and from the brake disk. A cylinder chamber is formed in one of the caliper arms and accommodates therein a first piston for pressing the adjacent brake pad assembly to the brake disk and a second piston positioned with a distance from the first piston. The second piston is operated by an externally provided actuator member to produce a hydraulic pressure in the cylinder chamber for moving the first piston and the associated brake pad assembly toward the brake disk. A reservoir for hydraulic fluid is formed in the brake housing to supply supplementary fluid into the cylinder chamber.

  • Patent number: 4217063
Abstract: A center support member for a tiltable swivelling grading blade on an earthmoving machine which prevents the occurence of internal stresses in the blade generated by tilting of the blade is in the form of a ball and socket joint attached to the center rear of the blade and to a carrier frame on the machine. A shaft slidable in a sleeved mounting carries the ball portion of the joint at one end and the other end of the shaft is spring urged towards the blade by spring means in the sleeved mounting. Stop means in the sleeved mounting limit the stroke of the shaft. Additionally, a piston engaged by the spring means in a chamber in the sleeved mounting is arranged to force lubricant through a feed line to the shaft in response to axial movement of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 3945795
Abstract: Damage due to rupture or ballooning of the plastic jacket on a flexible pumping strand due to filling of the well with gas is prevented by providing an assembly including a preset pressure release valve in the lower portions of the strand to quickly release fluid from the interior of the strand to the surrounding environment upon the attainment of a pressure differential between the interior and exterior of the strand within a predetermined fraction of the rupture or ballooning strength of the plastic jacket on the pumping strand.

  • Patent number: 3945737
Abstract: A pivot joint or socket assembly, especially suited for use at the pitman or idler arm ends of centerlinks or in the pitman or idler arm assemblies of centerlink type steering linkages, has a pin or stud and a socket or housing forming a linkage connection which will provide rotational movement about an axis that may be tilted to a limited degree to accept variations in the linkage alignment and has a resilient wear take-up bushing which will compensate for wear and maintain the joint components in good bearing relationship throughout a long wear life.
